Hey guys! This vlog is all about my visit at the New York DevaChan hair salon in Broome St (Soho) , to get my natural curly hair styled! I share with you guys my experience at the Deva Curl Salon that took me from dry hair to such defined and frizz-free curls. These products are also paraben-free, silicone-free, and sulfate-free, for those curly girls who LOVE to follow the Curly Girl Method! I also share my sister’s new dry curly DevaCut, and her before and afters, as well.

Jewellianna your stylist epitomizes warmth in a voice. If he was my stylist I would feel like I was in good hands just from hearing his voice. He seems so caring. Also I kept looking at the white guy's hands while he did your hair. Just so gentle. He took such care with your hair and the results were amazing.

Spongebob 🤣 you are funny. But when you go to a stylists to get a trim and she cuts 4 to 5 inches of undamaged hair because she did not know how to work with your hair, hell yes I am in love. Lol Finding a quality hairstylist that knows how to deal with kinky hair is a chore.

I’m tender headed and my curls clump up real fast and detangle, so you know I’m clenching the salon chair underneath that robe as hard as I can trying not to cry when they detangle it 😂

The last time I went to a salon with my mom she got her hair washed and everything nice and I was like oh me too please but then came up another stylist to do my hair and went straight up to detangle my hair and I was crying the whole time

It’s a lot of work to turn it off and back on each time and making sure to have the right temperature every time turning it on and it was just take forever so it’s better to let it run so that it’s easy access.

I actually work there and the sinks we use vary in temperature every time we turn it on and off. Most of the time we keep it on to keep a consistent and comfortable temperature for the clients 😊

@@Jacob-wz7pm you literally sound ignorant. She was talking about back in the day most salons were white owned and only did straight hair cause it was the most common hair type so people with textured hair had to do it themselves or by someone they knew at home.

Black hair salons have always existed, it’s just that most of them only did braided hairstyles, relaxers, silk presses, etc. and because there were still a large number of black women who weren’t natural they didn’t do curly cuts and wash and gos in the black salons because there was no demand for it. That’s why women with natural hair did their hair at home, because salons that specialized in styling natural hair without heat were rare, and they didn’t want to put heat on their hair. It was a personal choice for their own haircare goals, not because there were no black owned salons that knew how to do black people’s hair.

I like how you were very involved in your process, a lot of people go to the salon and don't say a word. They just let them experiment on them and then they're disappointed in the results because they didn't ask what was happening durring the process. I want to try a DevaCurl salon so badly because I’ve seen SO many good-looking results from people who’ve gone. HOWEVER, the only people that I’VE seen have good results and who love their products are people who have looser curls than mine (I have a mix of all type 4 curls with a bit of 3c on top). I’m just worried they’re gonna set me up because they seem not to work too often on kinkier textures.

Beautiful and flawless as always! They did an awesome job on your hair. Your curls were very defined and juicy! LOL! Honestly, you do a terrific job on your hair too. You could actually be a stylist. You get great results each time. And your sisters hair was beautiful. They really hooked her up. Her hair was beautiful in the beginning, but, the layers created more volume. You've honestly encouraged me to go natural again. I was once natural and loved it until the comments began. I regret letting the people around me (family and friends) making me feel shame for having beautiful curly thick happy hair. Seeing your hair can almost bring me to tears. Yes girl, you both look great! I just want to say thank you so very much for your videos. I went natural 4 years ago, but didn't know how to take care of my natural curls. Eventually I got heat damage at a salon and did the big chop 1.5 years ago. I've been watching your videos religiously as we have the same texture (3c-4a!) And your advice has helped SO much. PS, that Aussie miracle moist conditioner is the bomb and makes my curls juicy!!

It's to keep the water at a constant temperature. If he turned it off he would have to wait for the water to go back to the original temperature.

For the price they charge I don’t know why but I was expecting better results . It looks like a regular style you do on your hair. Deva curl is too overpriced .

Queen Bee For styling, I’ve actually seen salons charge much more (and even more for the cuts). And since it’s only styling, it won’t be a huge transformation from my regular styling. Lol

I'm new to your channel and only released there were two of you at the end ah ha. The hair cut came out really well for the kinky hair one, and the curls came out nice for the curly. Wish we had deva curl saloons on the UK!
