During this phase in me learning C4D over the past few months, I decided to produce some videos that will help other get into C4D. The first one is for the Hair system, as I feel there is not much on this subject.
After using C4d for a couple of years, I've been doing a deep dive into the hair system. One of the first things I did when I got c4d was to buy the Ornatrix plugin. I'm kind of sorry I did that because I feel like the built in hair system is better. Maybe it doesn't have as many options, but I can actually get a hairstyle built without wanting to scream at the computer. Ornatrix is pain in the ass. Thanks for making your tutorials because it helped me learn the system.
You have to cross a threshold of requirements that C4D cant meet to make Ornatrix worth having. The more realistic the hairstyle the more Ornatrix caters for this need. C4Ds own hair system is no slouch, it was one of the reasons I went over to C4D from Modo.
The big thing missing from C4d system is the ability for hair to interpolate around collisions (like shoulders). If you have two guides that separate around a collision, the interpolated hairs between pass through the object. It makes long hair styles look unrealistic.
@@Ricardo-de9ju I watched the live preview for Modo 16.1 and 17 road map, it does not appeal to me, and I have Modo 9.1 while it was still under Luxology. I like Mari, but that is out the reach for most as its very expensive, its a big studio tool.
