one of my friends in middle school filled up a bucket with clorox bleach and put her hair in it lol. she thought bleaching was BLEACH. needless to say her hair never grew back properly and it wont grow past her shoulders and we are in our mid twenties now. extensions for liiiife girl.

I had black hair dye in my hair and I though j would put hair dye on my roots that are dyed black because I was 100% sure that nothing was gonna happen... Ya the top of my head is all ginger coloured now 😃
Especially for an Asian haired girl like me. So I stick to what one of the hairdressers said to me once that I have to stick to highlights first instead of all over hair color to my darker hair.In short, step by step instead of having my black hair color totally changed to red. :)
Watching his videos made me more impatient for bleaching and dyeing my hair. I have the stuff, but I want to wait. Also, I think my hair could use some time to recover. I did hair color remover that had bleach in it, and my hair was stripped of its oils.
Well we are in a pandemic. Have been since the beginning of last year. Lots of places closed down. Even still, some people STILL went to salons for hair care... tattoos... nails done... etcetera. Here we are. 2021 still dealing with the pandemic. 👍🏼😞
I go to Sally's beauty my bleach packages i use cost less iv had a big bottle of 30 developer for a year still have enough for two more rounds lol had 3 packages of blonde brilliance level 9 bleach I just buy those lol gonna buy 4 more and another bottle of 30 developer but it don't take much for me hair is not to long and .cutting it Jan 30 to a pixie cut lol my bleach and dye cost me less then paying 300 400 or more bucks at a salon here I went from black box dye to blonde no issue my hair condtion is far from severely affected even a hair stylest was shocked to see what I was to wear I am now and how healthy it looks so am I but iv been using no heat on my head for a year vegan dyes semi only all conditioner based and L'Oreal extrem hair repair mask I leave in for over an hour with a shower cap and leave in treatment from the same line buying there shampoo and conditioner when paid I'll never look back only use that line only vegan semi dyes and all hair masks I'll leave in for over an hour lol . But I have had my fair share of hair fails 🤣 from age 12 to 27 lol

How to lighten hair: Watch a bunch of videos, make notes. Never start at roots. Never go over ends first. Start in the mid. Small sections. Use foils. No to 40vol tbh Buy 3x as much as you think you need and SOAK THAT HAIR. Gently rub, ensure every hair has ENOUGH product. Get the right toner. It really isn't that complicated NO BOX DYE, PERIOD. COLOR DOESN'T LIFT COLOR!
Moonpotato my godmother thought you bleached hair with clothes bleach. She attempted it on her waist length, dark brown hair and it RUINED IT. She had to chop it.
When I was 16 I just wanted purple bangs (which of course in 2008 just meant a bunch of long hair that covered en entire side of my face) so I sat in front of the tv with my bangs soaking in Clorox bleach for like 30 minutes to lighten it My mother was in cosmetology school at the time Her friend told me my hair should have turned to over-chewed gum haha I think it being virgin af is what saved me and I ended up doing one round of box bleach and then dyed it purple with manic panic (but then washed it with the wrong shampoo and had blue bangs for like a week before they were just orange lol) #kidsaredumb

That last girl manages to actually end up with a great blonde with the dark roots...and then she messed it up. I will never understand how these people's minds work.
If you can follow instructions, experience is no needed. I learned to do everything with hair from wathing hairfressers and youtube. I fx bleached my 60cm long curly dry hair to white platinum without any yellow or breakage just from listening to brad. 3 hair dressers have tried with highlights and failed - I did it perfectly on my own💪🏽

Haha, same. Was adventurous and went for an amateur balayage. Well, my boyfriend did because I asked him to help me and then he did everything. Turned out bright orange (fulfilling my Anne with an e fantasy) and a bit spotty 😂 and I could hear Brad screaming in my head

Or we'll do it for you. i don't know if you've ever had a breakdown but you really aren't in a position to make logical and coherent thought processes like you just did. and also, bc most of the times, at least for me, you get a deep feeling of hopelessness and the only way to feel like you're in control of things in your life at that point is to make a strong decision to change something. that's why most people say that when they have a breakdown they chop their hair, shave their eyebrows, etc.

The last girl, I LOVED her hair when it was totally platinum blonde, before she got it “fixed”. I thought it looked SO pretty and flattered her SO much.
Last Wednesday I re-did my sisters hair. She went to a "professional" at a salon, paid $85 and her roots were RED while the rest of her hair was still really dark. It did not look like a pro did it. So I told her to go to Sally's and get products so I can fix it. I bleached only the bottom of her hair with 20 vol developer and it lighten to what the top color was. I was able to fix her hair and I was so proud of myself. I felt so professional. I was like, yass, this is my career now.

Not always true! In most cases Sally’s employees aren’t professional, but I’m a professional hairdresser and I work at Sally’s, so we exist 😊 I definitely cringe when anyone says they’ve given them advice that is wrong though!
I work at Sally's too and I am a licensed hairdresser. While there are a lot of locations that don't have a professional, all employees are required to complete hairstylist knowledge on products, color, color correction, and lighteners. This way they can better serve the customers. Hope this helps.
I work at Sally and am an aesthetician but we do have hair stylists that work there too. Not everyone there is a professional but most stores have professionals there.
I also work at a Sally store and I'm so glad you brought this up! The "tests" we have to pass are literally 20-minutes long and we can use our phones to google answers! All the girls that work at our store are in college for various careers that have nothing to do with beauty. We are just CASHIERS, not professionals!!
I worked at Sally's and am not a professional. They told me at my store that we could make suggestions but to never actually tell people what to do. & I'm honestly so scared of color/bleach yourself that I would always be like idkkkkkkkk ask a professional 🙆♀️

Hey Brad I hope hope hope you see this. I'm sure you've heard about the issues with Deva Curl. I unfortunately first hand have experienced damage, thinning and even scalp irritation. Wondering if you could make a video discussing you opinions on the matter and what you would recommend people who have also been affected should do for our curls to hopefully (praying to god) we can revive and get them back to healthy and our original curl patterns..
