I used to work at Sally. People forget that they’re just retail employees. It’s like going into a grocery store and asking the cashier how to cook a meal. It’s not their job to walk someone through a whole chemical process, they’re just there to sell products 😂

I was at Sally's and I heard the rep tell someone to put the bleach on their roots first. My head snapped up and made eye contact with the customer and shook my head no.

I love how sparkly he is today. That jacket is amazing.

Ok video idea: you go undercover at Sally’s (they don’t know you’re a hairstylist) and you ask them for advice on hair dyeing/bleaching lol

I will say I went to Sally's and the girl was like, "I can recommend things to you, but to be honest I don't know everything." I was like I don't expect you to and thanks for telling me the truth.

Kate reminds me of myself when I was 14. I bleached my hair blonde(aka orange) and paid $200 to have it fixed which got me to platinum(from black hair). Then I almost immediately threw red semi permanent color over it and ruined it. I still hate myself for it and it’s been 10 years. Lol.

Used to work at Sally’s people wanting to go blonde or anything lighter. I would always say I have zero idea and recommend them talking to another gal who was a stylist. I’m not responsible for you messing up your hair at home. Don’t 👏🏼come👏🏼for👏🏼me👏🏼

Once, I dyed my hair blue. I did everything correctly but when I went to wash it out, the dye ran down my face and my neck and I forgot to wear gloves when I washed it out. I was bright blue and I didn’t go to school because I was trying to get it out of my skin with rubbing alcohol, plus I didn’t want to get bullied. I looked like papa smerf and when I went back to school people still bullied me. So...👍

"I wouldn't always trust people at sally's". yes, when I first started toning my hair it was orange basically. I didn't know at the time that I needed a blue based toner. I trusted that the workers there could give me advice. They recommended this purple base "ash" toner. She told me it would definitely work. Later I came to find that it didn't work of course and my hair turned an awful color. Came to find she only told me to get that one because it was their "most popular" toner. Now, I know much more about toners but, I always tell people.. Just because they work there doesn't mean they know everything about the products and everyone's hair is different as well.

I worked at Sally’s for 4 years and I learned more by doing my own hair so I did not fuck up anyone’s hair but my own when I first started there. The more time you work there the more you do learn about hair. So some of these people I always go omg what are you doing!? Lol oh dear!! 😂😂

I'm starting to be thankful that my mother is a professional hairdresser. Her and I have been watching your videos on bleach fails and its been a great fun lol. I went from completely black to light red hair within 2 hours with her help. Thankful for my mum.

I was so tempted to film my self bleaching process bc I knew you'd shred it. 😂 STORY TIME! 2wks ago, I bought ye ole box dye bleach. I had virgin, light brownish/dark blondish hair. After I bleached it, it was actually a cute soft gingery color that I didn't mind at all, just not what I wanted. I toned it a few days later (I'd never used toner before) and it softened the color even more. I waited a week before bleaching it again--Monday to Monday. I used box dye bleach again but in a much brighter shade and toned immediately after this time. (Toners were Wella and purchased from Sally's.) It came out very shiny but my lord, it was such an awkward gold ramen color. 🙃 And hardly any lighter than before. Tuesday (day after 2nd bleaching), I went to a DIFFERENT Sally's and the person there was INFINITELY more helpful. I bought proper bleach and the CORRECT toner I needed for the shade I wanted (i.e. not freaking gold toned, aha). Yesterday, Wednesday, I chanced bleaching it again and toned immediately after (I only toned ~15mins each time) and it came out SO MUCH BETTER. And! My hair is just as soft and strong as it was before, much to my surprise. Tbh, I was so prepared to have fall out or damage, etc, but I lost LESS hair than the two previous dye jobs (which wasn't much at all regardless). 🤔 And to note: I brushed my hair from TIP to ROOT. 😂 The end! Hoping that maybe some purple shampoo or one more toning may take out the last bit of yellowy after affect it currently has. 🙏 Pray for me, y'all.
