OMG yes I do it all myself since a girl made my hair green at a hair salon and I had bad experiences before that but this was the turning point. I can ruin my hair myself I don't need a hairdresser for that and even pay them money for that xD But I have so much experience by now that I don't even mess up my hair anymore and it is way cheaper and easier :D

Wednesday yup. I didn't let anyone do anything to my hair for almost 10 years cause it just stressed me out to watch them use the wrong tools. My hair got so long and hard to manage. I had to give in and go get a simple cut. The hairdresser was scared of my hair because it is so curly, which made me even more nervous.

apply bleach 1/2 inch from scalp down and leave 1 inch of ends out. then apply bleach to ends and then scalp last for virgin color. apply bleach as close to the scalp as possible but not on scalp to new growth for retouch application.

There’s not just one way of it. It all depends on what’s going on in the hair. If it’s virgin hair then you follow what z bang said

Yes I do use the conditioner sometimes too.

At the moment my hair us a baby blue and white. I mix the blue dye with conditioner and leave it in while I shower and rinse it last.

This was not a stab at all Sally's reps. Sorry if you took it personal. But I've come across a lot that don't have the right information and recommend some crazy stuff. I still frequently shop at Sally's and only 1 because their customer service is stellar. I was in there for some nail supplies (polish, acetone, etc) a year and half ago. A woman came in, did a bad bleach job, her hair was toast. She was asking what she could use to help fix or repair the situation. Her friend did it, said she was in school for it. The rep goes, well we have a 4th semester Cosmetologist student shopping in the store right now lets ask her. Yes I helped the girl. I don't know if she ever got her moisture and hair repaired or not. I joked and told the rep next time I was charging for a consult. Matter of fact was in there today to get some polish that was on sale and out of stock. Girl came in and wanted BLOND hair. I had to tell her it was a process, low and slow don't rush it. I told her stay away from the 40 volume, unless she didn't want her hair. I hope she listened to me and not her friend.

I prefer that one, I've been steady shopping there for 7 yrs. Before that it was only when we came into town to visit and it was oh crap I gotta go to Sally's and I forgot da da da or I need blah blah blah. Military family life problems. I've been to others and the customer service was rancid and horrible. My husband will sometimes go into Sally's with me if we're together. The girls pick on him and he picks back. But when he says the customer service is sub par at these others, there's a serious issue. I was sick, OMG I was so sick. I had an out of class assignment and I was on so many cold meds I couldn't stand straight. He took me to a Sally's, not the regular one. I needed to buy hair color for my manikin for my assignment. I had everything I needed. The assignment was color your manikin any color, do 1 style and 1 cut so we'd get credit for being out. No bigs. Being sick I had forgotten my wallet with my card and of course my debt card. I said forgive me I'm really ill can you please look up my account, sure no problem. When my husband went to pay, she goes, Oh I cant sell to him its not you. He goes BS I've used her card at another store to buy her hair pins while she was in class because someone stole hers, BS. He said a few choice words and took me to the other one. Told the girl that worked there what happened at the other location. She goes I got you, I can tell she's sick. I was that kinda sick I couldn't stand or speak. But I got my assignment done.

BTW I prefer Sally's clearance section for the majority of my polish needs. Better deals.

i cant tell you how many times i suggested people go to pros or just take it very slow, while my colleagues would just tell people get 40 and conditioner. some sallys reps are good some arent lol

i started dying my hair before i knew what damage it could do (bleaching and colouring since I was 12 i think?), so my natural curls were long gone for years. I had to grow it all out, which I'm still in the process of doing, and am gonna cut it all off. I feel your pain, sister! :(

Curly hair is not always dry. I have curly hair and you have to put product in it to moisturize it.

How do you think hair is curly? Its a lack of moisture that makes it curl up. So yes, it is always dry. It can feel soft, but there's an extreme lack of oils.

Ombre girl!!! I love my natural hair color so I ombred my hair and now I just dye the blonde any colors I want (I use semi permanents on the blonde, they last about a month or so). I did fire ombre twice now on the blonde and it was fabulous!! Have a salon do the initial ombre, and then you can throw in the semi permanents yourself. Just be careful and get a friend who's experienced with dying hair to help! (If I dye the blonde one color, ex. I recently did teal, I do it myself. If I do more than one color like with the fire ombre, I get a friend to help me do the back)

Arctic fox hair colors will color your hair for about 8 weeks.it has instructions on how to keep your hair colored longer but I love the ash blonde I have so when I did my rose gold color I did the complete opposite of the care instructions just cause I didn’t want it in my hair for too long .just stayed for about 3 weeks.havent tried any other color so far cause my roots grew out and I need to go in for some blending highlights.

Jonny Feliciano to be fair it’s mostly true, but there are exceptions. My curly (3b) hair was always super dry because I mistreated it and treated it like straight hair. Now I use a bunch of moisturizers and oils. Curly textures are usually drier.

It is true though; curly and kinky hair usually is prone to being drier because the hair shaft shape makes it harder for the natural oils to wick right through to the ends of the hair; if your hair is in good condition and your scalp produces a lot of natural oil, it won't be the case, but for the most part curly and kinky hair is prone to being dry. It's the flipside to the reason fine, super straight hair can be/go limp; the oil wicks straight down the shaft and weighs it down.
