He plays his guitar absentmindedly. I listen to him play and follow the melody on a wind of emotions. Meanwhile the song keeps going, reaching mountains and valleys, loud sometimes then carefully others. It encompasses me completely until I reflect on the day so far. What has been, what is to come. The point at which I am in life and how the past has influenced me, made me the person I am. The possible ways in which my future may play out. Meanwhile the song keeps going, reaching my heart and its rate, embracing it, controlling it. This lets me calm down, silence my other thoughts, completely focusing on the sounds that create the music. I feel relaxed. Does time even matter? At the moment I don't think so. Maybe it doesn't for me, but to society. Society needs me to make it a better place. We need each other to survive. He, the guitar player, does this beautifully - playing the guitar, so that others can relax. Giving others the time to think before they act. What a place earth would have been or could be if we had only reacted. We are subjected to change constantly. We change every year a little more, we get older and with that responsibility shifts constantly. The strongest get replaced every couple of years. Since everything changes all the time, I finally realize: everything remains as it never was.

Gave me the chills man, the whole time through! I really can't roll my head over just how amazing you are, Rob! For one, I'm almost crying because even though I have like 200 songs on my computer I composed, I know I kind of suck at playing and I always will, and I could absolutely never be as great as you are, and it somehow makes me so sad and desperate. But on the other hand, I'm very happy that you are here and you do what you do, because this world would definitely be so much less without your enthralling music that's flowing with kindness, nostalgia and beauty - and your jokes and coolness of course. So I guess I just really wanted to say thank you for being great and inspiring, and just for being you! I hope someday I will make people as moved by my music as I am right now by yours. A whole lot of respect and love from Hungary!

Well that's the problem. I write it but can't record it. They're just GP6 files on my laptop. I'm too poor to be able to afford a good guitar, bass or basically any instrument and recording program (the fact that I'm left handed and I can't find ANTYTHING left handed anywhere doesn't help either) besides, you know... a potato and some mayo to record it. :D But someday... someday I will have saved up for it and behold, for on that day I will put out my music onto the Internet for everyone to hear! :)

About 4 years ago my dad was diagnosed with ALS. I decided to take care of him through the whole experience. Listening to this video one afternoon, on the verge of giving up and breaking down, was the only thing to calm me down during the last 6 months of hell and misery my family and I had to endure before my dad passed. It's so connected to my soul because of that time in my life. Anytime I pull it up I can't help but cry my eyes out. It truly is such a beautiful video. Thank you Rob and thanks to everyone out there who hasn't given up. Find that thing that keeps you going and hold on to it. You never know how you might affect other people's lives for the better.

Seconding the Rocksmith recommendation. I mostly learned to play on my own, but it provides a fun way to make me practice, and that's what really makes you improve. Between training videos, technique min-games, and having ready-to-play tabs similar to Guitar Hero for a ton of awesome songs (even more through DLC), it really feels like the best way to make an effective and fun "game-ified" training option. Recent updates have made it so that you can use USB microphones and an acoustic guitar, but I strongly recommend getting a Realtone cable (available alone or as a bundle with the game). It's on PC and consoles, so you have options for buying it. Seriously, check it out.

Because while you play on the lowest strings you can create a contrast and play on higher notes

In all seriousness: because scale length, mostly. You need considerably longer one than the standard 24-25.5" if you want to tune really low. And even if you want to just chug low notes it's usually cheaper and easier to get a guitar with more strings that has a good long length than a baritone 6-string that does.

I am at work at the moment, feeling kinda upset with myself talent wise. A while back I've brought this guitar in the video, and told myself I'm going to learn how to play like Rob Scallon. Of course that was harder than even I thought it was going to be. I've been trying to learn Anchor for nearly a year now, and most of the time this amazing guitar just stares at me on the wall. Anyway, it's a slow day and I put this on to listen to while I did things.....and I really wasn't expecting the Anchor play through at the end. It nearly broke me lol. Rock on Rob Scallon, thank you for the reminder of how amazing that song is. And how much I want to learn it.

The really only bad thing about having a perfect pitch is that you can't hear this ABSOLUTE masterpiece with a damn gorgeous sounds, without noticing (and sometimes suffering) that the guitar is anything between 5 and higher herz out of tune in some strings...... And sometimes I ask myself why I'm playing drum.....

I'll confess I didn't enjoy it, was nice but not what I'd go out of my way to listen to. It did give me some jamming ideas though so still gets a thumbs up ;)
