Seeing my signature guitar in my hometown Guitar Center

Even when they sell a guitar custom made explicitly for him, Rob still goes in to his local store and doesn't buy anything :p

That feeling of spending hours and hours at the music store when you're a kid, knowing darn well you're not gonna buy anything... Congrats, Rob. This is huge.

I have an image of Rob asking the employees "Hey can we do a bit where I pretend to steal the guitar and you chase me?" Them saying "Yeah let's do it". Then Rob just never stops running.

I would have been like "HOLY SHIT its Mary Spender", acted like I thought Rob was some random dude and asked him to take a picture of Mary and I. And then I'd be like "wait, I know you, you're that rollerblader guy".

This is why I love working at a music store. You get to jam out with people that are basically brethren to you (especially kids). At one point last year there was a little boy who stuck out. He was around 12. Every single day after school he drove his bike down to the store and just looked around. My boss thought he was suspicious and was bothered by his presence. I on the other hand let him roam. He was so pulled in by the Ibanez sr505 in the back at the bass section. I Told him he could play anything he wanted. He just said “I don’t really play”. I asked him his name and he said Christian. But I just call him Chris. I could tell he wasn’t very fond of money. One night I walked up to greet him. I asked “ya like that bass”. He said it would be his dream to have one. I asked him what music he liked. He said all he had were old metallica, korn, and slipknot cd’s. I told him to keep them make sure they stay in hood condition. I was just trying to do the average music store employee small talk. And I saw a grin hit his face for probably the first time. I was clocking out at the back to go home (just me him and 2 other workers in the store). I heard the amp fire up and heard the bass going. I knew it was him. He was very good for someone who had played one other time. I couldn’t help but shed a tear after I closed up shop that night. And last Christmas me and my buddy (another worker) saved our money and bought him that Ibanez. We showed up to his house Christmas Day and he knew who it was for. He just broke down in tears of happiness. Every now and then he’ll come down to the store and play. Just the other day he was rocking some Gojira. He was talking about joining/starting a band and I told him to go for it. Christian. You’ll know who you are. If you’re watching this video and see this comment I want you to know how much of an inspiration you are to the whole store and everyone that works there

The fact the employee tried leaving after one jam so you could get more solo time in and you asked him to play some more is so amazing. He seemed to really envy you so that must have been one of his life's highlights.

The thing I like the most here, is that he's playing rhythm for his fans to play over him. That's a level of humility you don't see in many celebrities these days, and it's great and inspiring to see. I've only just started watching you but every video I've seen so far just cements that fact more and more.

I'm 43 years old and I got to know your channel like 30 minutes ago. I haven't even heard your music, except what is played in this video. My guitar heroes are from another era, and they were as far as me as the stars are to the humanity. I was moved to tears to see how you approach your fans. I really wish the guys I used to idolize back then had this kind of access to technology and demeanor to the fans. You've earned one more fan today.

Dude, I'm not so sure why, but this video actually made me tear up. I don't comment on things* on RU-vid much, but Rob, you're probably one of the most genuine people I've ever met. Any video I've watched with you is just so raw and relatable. I think that is what made this really hit home; seeing you light up and just fall back into the swing of being 12, a kid in a candy shop. Also, it was really nice seeing all the young guitar player kids that were so excited to meet Rob, imagine walking randomly into a guitar store and someone you're a huge fan of is just in there goofing off, super cool.

The worker is so so talented and as a musician myself i know hes looked up to Rob all his life. Man i cant stop crying. the notes and chords are just so beautiful

I love how humble you are with your fans Rob. That goes a long ways with people. I met 3 followers of my channel out fishing the same day and it was one of the most humbling experiences I've ever had. I was so grateful for their views and I really hope they realized that. To know that I've brightened someone's day just by a simple video that I didn't expect anyone to watch is priceless.
