Actually theres more than 2 ways of locomation, its pretty neat really.

It's safe to assume that by the time of HL2 the Combine managed to 'sterilize' the environment, leaving just barnacles and headcrabs behind, but of course they manage to learn how to weaponize headcrabs from the quarantining and spread the infestation to Ravenholm. City 17 is safe until the uprising takes place, then it becomes taken over by Xen once more.

As beautiful as Black Mesa's Xen areas are, this game really does a far better job of bringinv the *Half-life* Xen look and feel to a modern generation

@@viliussmproductions The fleshy moss and weird fungi shown on this video are still present in Black Mesa's Xen, they just live along many other lifeforms, which makes Xen so much more interesting. We can assume that all the weird alien goo is invasive, thus it infested many places on Earth after teleported creatures carried the spores on them. The fancy glowing plants however are not as aggressive, so they stayed in Xen

This is basically Valve testing the waters, whilst also training themselves in what makes a good VR game and how to make them. Provided Alyx is successfully received and VR continues to grow, you can bet anything they'll quadruple the budget and go all out on HL3 afterwards. They want HL3 to be the best it can possibly be, and to release into a good environment where topics like "Why VR? Should be desktop" no longer have any traction. HL:Alyx is them shaking off the dust and doing their warm up stretches.

The main gravity gun feature was it's ability to lift, move and accelerate very heavy objects. The gloves might have been the low power prototype. The gameplay I've seen so far, the gloves are only able to accelerate light weight objects. Remember that the overcharged gravity gun was strong enough to rip consoles out of the citadelle walls.

Interesting how City 17 is infested with Xen flora and fauna in HLA, while in HL2 the urban environment is "safer" and seemingly contained, i'm guessing it's because the Citadel is still being constructed and the defenses against the creatures are not yet put in place, hence it's basically under quarantine, the Combine have to deal with the Resistance AND Xen threat, interesting background detail!

The animation still looks like an explosion, and I think I saw debris and stuff heading towards the player, it looks like the door just teleports there, maybe it assumes you don’t throw it over? Either that or it is an implosion and it doesn’t look like it.

It could be an implosion, given that it is diferent from a normal granade, they need something special or they are just an skin for the granades

Hopwire grenade, possibly has become an implosion grenade, or the area is so small/the nearby headcrab sets it off right away that we dont see the wires.

Depends on your ability to stand it. Personally I hate teleporting in vr, it's very disconcerting. Smooth motion is more immersive, and makes tracking things easier.

Boneworks, asgard's wrath, stormland, lone echo 2, vertigo 2, lots of VR games look amazing

MrPingeee I played Boneworks too and watched gameplay of the other games mentioned but HL A just feels like a new level

They will release a SDK for HL:Alyx, but no general purpose one yet (that will likely come with HL3, that comes after this) so you will be able to mod HL:Alyx into something, but cant make new standalone game with it just yet.

no one outpizzas the hut. trust me. I've tried. I've tried so hard to outpizza the hut and it cost me everything. no matter how much cheese, how many cheap toppings i put on my pizza i always got outpizza'd by the hut. No matter how much my pizzas tasted like plastic, pizza hut pizzas always tasted even more synthetic. for months I've been seveely depressed trying to figure it out. it all started as a little hobby, a bit of a goof - "can i outpizza the hut?" but it soon became my obsession and eventually my downfall. the fateful moment i had that thought was the moment I doomed myself. They must have some sort of secret ingredient i thought. after trying literally everything from the supermarket and not coming close to the plasticy taste of the hut i actually went insane. i started clawing at my skin, scratching my face for hours with my long sharp fingernails. at first it was almost unnoticeable but i knew i could not hide the scars forever, soon enough karen would find out. I needed to put an end to this but the only way to do that would be to outpizza the hut, as i knew. so i tried one last ingredient. i cut off a piece of my own arm and put it on the pizza. i added the shittiest sauce i had and cheese made from 50 percent plastic and 50 percent wood chips and baked it real good. the taste was almost exactly like pizza hut but the meat wasn't tender enough. i knew it had to be younger meat. from someone much younger than me. i knew what had to be done. there was a moment of doubt as i grabbed the knife and went into holly's room, up to her little crib while karen was at work. but i knew what had to be done. I'd finally done it. I've created a pizza even shittier than pizza hut or so I thought. but it still wasn't horrible enough. when karen came home and saw what i had done she freaked out. i truly loved karen just like i loved holly but she was going to call the cops on me and I couldn't let my pizza hut mission be compromised by her. they were only my first two victims. i went on to sacrifice many more in the name of pizza perfection before i got caught. Now i am sitting here on death row, my execution is only hours away. Do you want to guess what I'll choose as my last meal?
