Naw, they got vaporized along with the rest of the facility when alyx and Gordon teleported out. Teleporter got damage by the elites firing energy balls at it, causing a violent reaction. Either that, or that chunk of the facility was cast into xen in the blast. Survivors probably got eaten by the antlions infesting the place
That scene with the train will forever be stuck in my head to be honest And I don't mean that one plot important train I mean when you arrive for the first time at the station, with this music building up in the background, AND THEN the train moves out of the way and the music starts and you get your first serious fight with Combines It's probably a VR effect but it really feels like a memory, like the actual memory of being there It's really an impactful scene tbh
Interesting! I've never tried VR myself yet, but this one intrigues me. So it basically feels like a physical experience memory. You probably don't even remember the real time of day, or how your room looked like, or what was going on in the background even. Very interesting indeed.
I had that same feeling when i climbed out of the sewers at the end of the game and saw the massive Vault in the sky at night. It doesn't feel like it was a scene from a game, it feels like a real life memory that I have, it's crazy.
@@MegaKosan I think that’s how I feel about a lot of the half life games. Gordon is a blank canvas, so the immersion is really good. Being under the train bridge in the highway 17 chapter almost feels like I was there
I remember dropping down behind one of the concrete barriers, grabbing a spare mag from the top of a barrel, checking how many bullets I had in my gun, and peeking over the top as the train pulled away. So incredibly immersive and tense. It's your first real fight with the combine,
@@hiide0us123 vr is getting cheaper and cheaper! I managed to play this game on a relatively low budget of £600. £100 second hand dell visor and a gaming laptop with an rtx 2060. It runs like a charm. The game runs perfectly on Windows mixed reality too
You are a resistance member, combine alert alarms are blaring while you hide behind the burnt out wreck of a transport car. The suspicious absence of noise has you on edge. Then around the corner you hear a radio crackle to life *Razor Niner, engaging*
I would say it's heavily inspired by it without being a straight up remix. Now that you mentioned it I listened to both of them back-to-back and definitely hear the resemblance, but not once did I ever make the connection until you pointed it out, not when watching the trailers or when playing the game.
Huh, now that I’ve listened to both tracks, it feels like an apt description. This feels like the prototype or “in-development” version of CP Violation, just like the Combine themselves at this moment in the establishment of their rule over Earth. This feels as messy, violent, and rough as the Combine during this time, as they are still adapting their technology to human soldiers. Their equipment and weaponry have yet to take the brutally elegant shape they would take during Gordon’s time. The brutally elegant shape that CP Violation oppresses you with, that the Combine have improved and streamlined over the years into a well-oiled machine, without the creaks and whines of an older prototype, an Overwatch that operates with terrifying and clean efficiency. I love this series. I love it’s music.
@C0lorman the lightning dogs were cool but it was just annoying that they had stages. It felt like they could take a lot more damage than you'd expect them to be able to take, given their size
especially since both of them have shotguns with grenade launchers, and are badasses (and there's already a doom eternal asset pack mod for HL:A). Doom and HL:A would've been a better crossover than Doom and Animal Crossing.
I love the way damage looks on combine. It really looks like they get wounded and the blood soaks through their suit from the inside. It's so visceral.
I listen to the soundtrack in an attempt to imagine what this game will look like, as I don't have a vr and I don't want to experience this game without first having access to one.
I swear this game will kinda be a trainer for firefights if custom maps get to that level of intensity. More so thinking the Metal Gear Solid VR training stuff.
More like "Civil Protection Violation" + Some elements from Ep2 OST. And all this produced by Mike Moraski, so it doesn't really sound like HL song, but more like Portal 2 song
I don't get why the Combine didn't designate Alyx as Anticitizen One. Is there anyone else killing Combine soldiers by the dozens in that very moment? Blowing up the vault? Like, how much damage and disobedience is required to get that title?
abd alrafi3 gamer its good but it doesn’t have that same grunge that episode 1 and 2 had in its soundtrack. I really like the end credits song and this is decent but other than that I don’t have any favorites.
@@ardentparagon159 the ost is amazing, I don't see anyone complaining about hl opposing force ost even when it's style is very different to half life`s 1 ost, nobody complains because it's not half life 1 , and nobody complains now because it's not half life 2, you are blinded by nostalgia
