As silly as it is, the Tripods matches the Combine aesthetic pretty well.

I see that the tripod (5:50) is from the movie "War of the Worlds" and the other creature (11:01) is from the movie "Pacific Rim". I do like the wide range of combine forces, and it would make sense because the combines assimilate alien species.

Some things that came to mind: - How did they get humans right at the beginning? CP and Combine soldiers were not present that time. - That Tripod that burns people seems to be from a film (can't recall the title)

You know how there's rebels already in the 7 hour war? I don't think that's incorrect as probably a lot of people would have joined militias and stuff to support the earth troops

It can be imagined that the main force of Combine, which conquered the earth in seven hours, is far more than the level we see in HL2

the fact we still haven't seen the *actual* combine aliens, just the stuff they've stolen and turned for themselves (and the weak ones, at that) makes them so much scarier

Ptting aside the lore problems and use of other science fiction machines like tripods and reapers, this was an amazing depiction of the 7 hour war. i especially loved that that its revealed that it could have been a 5-4 hour war were it not for the incompetence of a commander i do especially love some of the cinematography here too

This was a really enjoyable watch!!!!! not quite how I imagine the 7 hour war really went down but something similar to this. Have you ever thought of getting the combine soldiers with the glowing eyes from mmod they look amazing. The addition of the Tripods and Reapers really adds to it as well cause I feel the combine forces we see on earth during HL2 are probably the bare bones of there full military strength.

The thought and passion poured into this is really nice. Not to mention, the Combine are Multiversal- everything fits with what they’ve assimilated, even if it doesn’t. Amazing work.

Wow this is a really good short film! I love how you added the tripod from War of the worlds very fitting, I also like how you used other assets from different games like the tank from Gta 5 to give it more of a unique feel! It was very creative how it switched to different parts of the world and how the combine used different tactics to overthrow humanity. An amazing video and great animating! 10/10

18:39 that honestly just feels cool to think about, when humanity is basically about to go extinct the half life hero emerges, it's like he's doom guy that gets put in the chyro space pod thing until they need him for when umanity is at stake but only now he just wakes up as gordon freeman

This video must’ve taken forever to make! And even if non-canon elements were used, it’s a great SFM film! But if you were to re-make this, here are somethings you could improve on: 1. Change the Combine OTAs to Combine Supersoldiers from the Beta. 2. Possibly have a cameo of a Cremator. 3. You can still have the Tripods and the squid looking things 4. Use some Xen wildlife such as Headcrabs (not fast or poisonous, they came after 7HW), Antlions and maybe bullsquids and hound eyes. 5. Try to remove combine elements in maps; such as the citadel, combine walls and barriers. 6. Approaching the final hours of war, you can have OTAs (because by this time, they would likely have prisoners now combine trans-humans) 7. Try to make buildings look damaged of destroyed, to show a war is going on. 8. (This is more a question) What is the creature summoned through a portal in the hidden combine outpost? 9. Perhaps use Mortar synths and Crab synths. 10. Maybe show the Combine Mothership, if you don’t know what to use, I’d think of a large mortar synth or maybe a giant advisor pod. And if you can, show maybe portals on earth rather than outer space. But it is canonical that some portals were in the solar system rather than earth. These are only suggestions for if you make a new version. But the final piece here is still perfect!

Why is there a kaiju? I mean I tried to not think about it but it uses the MUTO roars at first and then it completely goes out of character and goes full godzilla. Also I noticed the tripod from war of the world's or whatever, and the reaper.

I Really like this movie, even though it's not the perfect animation but this is an masterpiece..I like the theory about wallace breen joining the combines and yeah also i like that the combines invaded earth through the portal at the start also another theory is the tripod..The tripod really seems like an strider tho, so that can get to an another theory. But anyways! This is absolute masterpiece to the Half life Universe.
