I think JR had a dig at Ray and Clayton in this episode too. As JR called Clayton 'The carpet bagger from Santangelo'. He called Ray the 'half-breed'. He never let Ray forget that he was 'a bastard' until hr found out he fathered one called James.
JR had a unmatched ability to insult Pam, her brother Cliff, her mother and father (the Barnes one and the biological one like no other. It usually was followed by Bobby belting JR, as was done in this scene.
“ JR, you really are a miserable human being!” JR: “ well I’ll be a lot less miserable with you out of my life!” JR always could turn a good burn around in his favor!
Moocher: Someone who always asks for things and favors constantly and will never leave you alone. They will ask for money, rides to places, for you to do simple tasks they could do easily but they think the whole world should cater to them, basically just a leech to everyone around them, a parasite to the community.
I hate that J.R. didn’t see how valuable his cousin Jack could’ve been to him he didn’t have to speak to him that way even though it was scandalous and hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Jack Ewing could’ve gotten involved in the casino/gambling business establishing “Ewing Casinos” 🎰
yeah that whole storyline of her abandoning everyone, most of all her only child, just because of her condition was far fetched. They should have just cast Margaret Michaels to play her part. I liked her better w/ Bobby than April.
In rewatching the Dream season on DVD recently, it is clear that producers were trying to make Jack a kind-of replacement for Bobby. I am surprised they didn't concoct some reason for Jack to move into Southfork (like Ray & Donna). Jack should have sold his 10% of Ewing Oil to Pam or Cliff or Sue Ellen and bolted Dallas with the $200 million payout.
it's funny how Jack became a thorn in JR's side during this season simply because he wouldn't sell JR back his 10% of Ewing Oil. Imagine how much 10% of any oil company would be worth today.
JR and Jack made for interesting adversaries. I think the dream season may have been more successful if the writers had explored this dynamic for JR and Jack as opposed to making them semi-friends. Being suspicious of/antagonistic toward "outsiders" is more consistent with JR's personality anyway.
@@realnumber_9 That's correct. Hagman and Rambo did not get along. Rambo thought it had something to do with his bisexuality but I find that difficult to believe. Hagman was very liberal and had grown up around actors and Hollywood and the stage so he had associated with bisexual or gay men and women for his entire life. More likely is that Hagman's anger over the direction the show was taking as Rambo joined the cast, which included Jack basically replacing Bobby, and his hatred of Phil Capice simply spilled over onto Rambo
I love this quote. My job has a bunch of slackers, strangers and nomads because that's what the company wants instead of full time, hard working people in each department. Instead we get people who don't want to work (slackers), people who are part time so they don't care (strangers) and people from other departments so they're not trained properly (nomads).
Yes I know they got on great in the dream season and he seemed to genuinely like him. Of course at the time the writers thought bobby was gone for good and Jack was his replacement
@@grecosgreecedaz6026 yes def. Dack Rambo has gone on record many times saying larry hagman disliked him. He even suggested it was because he was gay. Larry always denied that strongly. Personally i think larry was prob hostile to Dack, as he was at his worst in the dream season . He hated the director the show had taken and missed Duffy. Obviously Dacks character jack was Bobby replacement However I dont think for a second it had anything to do with him being gay Larry got even more pissed with him when he found out this. Hagman mentions it in his autobiography.
@@grecosgreecedaz6026 Larry was loyal if he liked you and great fun. He could be difficult if he had to be. He was also hostile to donna Reed when she played miss Elle for that year, and got one of the producers sacked.
Well, ten percent of Ewing Oil was worth $200 million when this season was aired. So, even Ray and Gary (who with Miss Ellie, each inherited 10% of the family business) were worth hundreds of millions of dollars - and they were "poor" by Ewing standards!
Jack was so sexy! And Jamie was awesome too! So sad they got written out..parts of the dream season should have been a reality- things were a lot better without Bobby around..and I liked Pam with Mark Graison better - at least she wouldn't have just coldly and abruptly abandoned her son like in the 11th Season!
