I often see ppl trim back their 9" hoochies by an inch or 2 b4 putting it over a big grub tail. Is that just to free up the movement of the tail on the grub?

If you don't have an electric reel you aren't serious about your halibut fishing

give me a break lol 200-400ft and you need an electric reel ,, try it for deep drop 2000ft is more what its for !
