When painting a staircase with spindles would you do it with a paint brush or airless spray gun I've started working for myself but there is a lot of painters using spray guns on doors and walls? Great video
I mainly do domestic properties and find that using a brush & roller is alot less hassle for me tbh... I would use either airless or hvlp in different circumstances foe sure, whether it be an empty residential property, or small commercial work. At the end of the day, everyone has, their own preferred way of doing things, and for me it's not worth getting the sprayer out for a few spindles... Especially when you take into account that trying to spray all the door's, architraves, skirting's ect when most domestic households have one or two habitants still working from home expecting to be able to come in & out at will.... I'm pretty quick with a brush & roller so it's not an issue for me.
I usually either set up the platform like in the video, or just rest the ladders up against the wall directly above the stairs and work sideways off them.
Hi Richard, I'm papering an arch late October, so will be sure to do a vid then. When papering a wall thats been painted, its basically the same prep as if you were re painting it...sand, fill, sand, prime to make good...but if the wallpaper you are hanging is standard paste the product type paper? Then its important to cross line the walls as per manufacturer recommendation for best results. All the best, Joe
Hi there, I recommend a good college course , either full time 2 years or a 3 year apprenticeship. I did 2 years full time with my third year part time college whilst on site....then did another 2 years of working for someone else ....after that there is still lots of learning to be done. There are too many people trading in our game at the moment that dont have the knowledge they need to do a quality job ...and that leads to alot of unhappy customers losing confidence in the trade. I wish you all the best of luck with whatever you choose to do 👍
If college isnt your thing...I'd say get with a good domestic decorator for a couple of years learning the ropes. There is a massive difference from doing friends, family ect....to then charging for a professional service. The best of luck Nicholas 👍
Hi there, i can't actually remember now because I just googled it and bought it from an online retailer. I googled :- Little giant aluminium extending platform
Yes exactly....you can see the carpet grippers around the perimeter if you look closely, with the underlay left down. Sheets were down for the prep lining and painting phase, but taken up for applying paste the wall wallpaper 👍
