My nieces husband Ted was national champion years ago. At the time they performed behind a curtain so the judges couldn’t see them, only listen. They didn’t know he had dropped a hammer and had to pick it up without missing a beat. Also his Dulcimer wasn’t the same same quality as he has now, yet still won! These instruments are really great sounding in person, full and rich, beautiful!
With everyone sharing stories I'd thought I'd share my own. Hallelujah always reminds me of a time when everything seemed lost. I was in a dark place, feeling like I didn’t belong anywhere. But then, I met someone who changed everything. She made me see the world differently, and together, we went on a journey that brought us closer in ways I never expected. There was one day when it felt like the world was closing in on us. Surrounded by danger, I thought we were done for. But then, with a calmness I’ll never forget, she reached down, and just like that inflated a snake into a balloon
Love this song and love the hammered dulcimer, I miss mine and my 6 and 12 string guitar all were stolen and the people who got them for me have passed. I cried hopefully I can get another hammered dulcimer
usually i consider this piece overplayed, used by so many artists to distinguish themselves. But I am absolutely stunned to hear AND see, that you play actually melody and "surrounding" TOGETHER at once. That's amazing and must be incredibly difficult. "Hat down", as we say in German. Thanks for sharing this masterpiece.
I played before but stopped. Ive been battling cancer for a long time now. I have a hard time seeing the strings and holding the hammers, but I am back at the basics and I am going to play this song. God help me, but I so want to. Mark is awesome.
It's almost as of Hallelujah was written with the dulcimer in mind. Beautiful interpretation. Thank you for sharing. 🏴👍 Suggestions for future songs: California Dreaming, Don't Fear the Reaper, Windmills of Your Mind, or just about any Cat Steven's songs.
One of my favorite instrumental version of the song. The other is done on a Pan flute by Edgar Muenala. I play guitar and play in our church choir but listening to you and Edgar I am just amazed. I will check out of your channel. Very relaxing to listen to. Gary

keepdancingmaria Not really-the composer titled it and copyrighted it as, “Hallelujah.” You are correct that this is one of many pieces by this title; however, this is the only one by Cohen.
