I needed this when I first started bassoon, it was so disheartening to see bassoon portrayed as an ugly instrument with no solos. I love and appreciate y'all
lady grace It is a beautiful instrument. It has a wide range, though the high notes have some wild fingerings. I used to play bassoon, mostly I play upright bass now.
Hi BWBQ! I really like your videos. I've even shown them to my class! (And also, please play a Bmaj or a B7 chord at 0:33 (change the D to D#) and at 1:22)
Why is this considered a Christmas song? I don't really get it. I mean it's an amazing song and I listen to it all year round. Anyway, awesome job as always!
Dean Ekberg I hear people say it all the time. Nothing to do with this video suggested it. Just what I have heard from other people and comments on other videos.
Corinne Ambler: I had no idea. I'm not at all familiar with this piece, and didn't see anything either in the title or the comments suggesting Christmas or anything else specific.
I don't consider it a Christmas song, but it may be confused as one by some people due to its religious context. When people hear things like "Hallelujah", "Jesus", or "God" in a popular song, it is usually associated with Christmas. After all, Christmas is a very popular holiday and is very central to the Christian faith. Maybe they thought it was related to Christmas because they did not imagine any isolated religious song could be this mainstream unless linked to something as grand as a holiday like Christmas.
