Halloween 1978 FIRST TIME WATCHING REACTION 

Halloween literally launched slashers into the mainstream. This movie is the reason why we got Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and hell, even Scream! You can thank Halloween for those tropes you're used to seeing like the invincible killer, teen victims, survivor girl, etc.

The music is what makes the movie scary. In a documentary John carpenter showed it with no music and was told it wasn’t scary at all. Then he wrote the score and showed it and the same person thought it was terrifying.

The main reason he is after her in this movie is because she walked up to his front door and out the key under his mat. He de used them and there he would kill her before the night was through.

Laurie Strode(Main character) is the baby sister of Michael Myers. She was only a baby when he killed the older sister. Excellent reaction

Her being at house with tommy probably reminded him of Judith and himself that's why he followed both of them. Loomis says at one point that his home is so important to him cause it contains his memories so he was remembering that night when he killed his sister then Laurie shows up. I don't quite see it exactly but tommy does look like Michael as amid especially the hair. I guess Laurie hair is kind of like Judith lol

As others have mentioned, they've retconned the sequels out of existence multiple times, creating different timelines. Here's the breakdown... Original timeline - Halloween, Halloween II, Halloween 4, Halloween 5, Halloween: The Curse of Michael of Myers Part 3 was a failed attempt of doing an anthology series & has nothing to do with Michael Myers or the familiar characters/completely different type of story. 2nd timeline - Halloween, Halloween II, Halloween: H20-20 Years Later, Halloween: Ressurrection 3rd timeline - Halloween (1978), Halloween (2018), Halloween Kill, Halloween Ends (coming next year). Also - a remake timeline - Rob Zombie's Halloween & Rob Zombie's Halloween II

No no no. Halloween 2018 BEFORE Halloween Kills. But remember... there's 3 different timelines. They've changed the canon TWICE. 1st Timeline: Halloween 1978, H2, H4, H5, Halloween: the Curse of Michael Myers 2nd timeline: H 1978, H2, Halloween H20: 20 years later, Halloween Resurrection 3rd timeline: Halloween 1978, Halloween 2018, Halloween Kills, Halloween Ends Halloween III has absolutely NOTHING to do with Michael Myers. It was more like a shot at turning the franchise into an anthology. Lot of fans like it. But I've never seen it. But the original was one of the most successful independent films of all time, or at least for its era. $320,000 budget with a return of 70 mil (or 100 mil, I read both figures).

A lil FYI: The scene where Laurie looks back through the window and Michael is gone, the phone rings. As Laurie walks over to answer it, if you look on the dresser there's an Annabelle doll. The same style doll they still have locked up to this day.

Film speed is different than ISO of a digital camera. Digital camera have a setting that has the best signal-to-noise ration which is usually around 800 ISO, going up or down adds significant amounts of noise and dynamic range is greatly affected. With film, the higher the ISO, the larger the grains are which results in a grainer picture. Film speeds can go as low as 50 for daylight balanced film which would have very fine grains. I'm more than sure that for the low light scenes, they used 500 Speed Tungsten film which is typical for studio work because working at 100 Speed Daylight film would require an insane amount of light (and I'm sure they used 100 Speed Daylight film during the day scenes, of course.) So, in the end, they needed more light to expose the 500 Speed film which has finer grain than shooting digitally at an ISO of 800 which would have more visible noise than the visible grains of the 500 speed film.

This film was revolutionary for horror cinema in several ways. At the time it was released, violence was typically portrayed as something that happened in big cities. This film brought slasher and violence to the suburbs. Suburbs up to this point were portrayed as safe places where exemplary families lived and a peaceful life took place. Halloween changed that.

I like it when you do longer videos, to be honest, and yeah you should totally do Halloween 2, and then Halloween 2018, and then Halloween Kills. Please. If you watch all the sequels you'll just confuse cuz they don't make any sense if you watch all the Halloweens. Plus I love your videos because you're honest and hardly anyone is real. Why Michael stalked Laurie specifically? The answer is in Halloween II. More answer in that sequel, which was pretty good IMO.

In the current timeline, she's a random target... perhaps because he saw her at his house when she dropped off the key. But in the first two timelines there's a different reason. But in case you watch Halloween II all the way through H20 and/or Resurrection (I recommend ALL of then EXCEPT Resurrection), I don't want to spoil it.

Halloween 2 is a direct sequel, picking up later the same night. Lots of reconning later. This was a sort of slow burn horror film. Don't know if you caught it , but the doctor Sam Loomis shares a name with the boyfriend in Psycho.

It is Halloween carpenter and hill like talking about Halloween being the night where the veil is the thinnest so spirits can cross over. Which during Salem they called spirits shapes and in the credits they call Michael the shape lol. Which is from the script yo dehumanize Michael more. His behavior and description matches supernatural or paranormal activity or demonic sTuff lol. Wish I could like it twice or give it a big heart lol

Jump scares and gore are not what make a horror movie. In fact, jump scares aren't even scary, they're just startling. The newer movies rely a lot on jump scares and gore, and there's almost no suspense or impending sense of doom at all. I'd definitely check out Halloween 2 next. It's not a phenomenal sequel, but it's creepier than the new movies and it's unique in that it takes place on the same night as the first movie, picking up just where the original leaves off. Even though the events of H2 are not part of the new continuity, it still fits the story except for one REALLY stupid plot twist, which can mostly be ignored.

Well there are 5 Halloween timelines overall

Michael Myers' motive is the same in two of the three timelines this series goes down. The two timelines where the motive stays the same both start with Halloween, and Halloween 2, where that motive is explained. However they veer off from each other from there. One timeline goes into Halloween 4, 5, and 6. The other one goes from 2, to H20, to Resurrection. However, the third timeline completely ignores Halloween 2, with Halloween 2018 essentially becoming the new Halloween 2. I don't think Michael had a motive in the third timeline. Now, you'll notice that each of these skips Halloween 3. Thats because Halloweens 1 and 2 were supposed to be the Michael Myers saga. Halloween 3 was supposed to be a new story, because Halloween was supposed to be an anthology series about different events that took place on Halloween night. Halloween 3 was about witchcraft, and a plot to sacrifice children for a pagan winter ritual. However, people were extremely outraged that Halloween 3 had no Michael Myers in it, so the anthology plans were scrapped, and thats why from 4 on, its all Michael Myers.

Hey bud, just remember to judge a film based on its release date and the resources available to them then. That way you can truly appreciate the movie magic! Star Wars and Halloween are both great examples of this. At the time of their release they were ahead of their time. That’s why the stories are still so famous nowadays.

Make sure to watch Halloween 2018 first before Watching Halloween kills.

Its a storyline

Do them in order You can jump to the newest one of you want but Halloween 2 is a direct sequel and pretty much picks up the story after the first film so if you want to get the most out of this movie the all the reta then ad do number two next and then if you want to skip you can go to the reboot then did in the 2000s and then you can go to the ones they made in the last 5 years. They made ones in the late 80s and in the 90s and some were good and some weren't but I doubt you'll do then all in order especially with it being after Halloween now so just pick a few that catch your eye

I think this is like wrong place wrong time. I was watching one thing yesterday the unexplained with William Shatner who's mask they used for this movie lol. They were analyzing serial killers and questioned why or how they pick their victims. Just by sight but probably more. Like more instinctively li!e a animal. The dog was barking and in the novelization attacked him which is no excuse to kill the dog but if dog is attacking me like that cujo then I can see you defending yourself like that

here's a lil background on each timeline: og timeline (h1, h2, h4, h5, h6)- in h2 you find out the reason why he's chasing laurie and why he wants her dead. in-between h2 and h4, laurie dies in a car accident but she had a daughter, jamie, before she died. so we follow jamie in h4 and h5 and how she's connected to michael. h6 just explains why he's evil. gore score would be 3/10 not really gory. this is prolly the most interesting timeline but the execution isn't the best. second timeline (h1, h2, h20, resurrection)- h20 is in another state altogether. laurie is alive and has a son. michael is just pure evil, there's no reason why he kills anyone (unlike in h6). he stalks grown up laurie and her son, killing anyone that gets in his way. in resurrection, its back at michaels childhood home (lol). they try to "film" a reality tv show there, but obv michael didn't like that. they also try to give a reason why michael kills ppl and it just doesn't work lol. that movie is so bad that its good. gore score would be 5/10 just a couple gory scenes in h20 but nothing terrible. h20 is a good film but resurrection kinda ruins it. last timeline (h1, h2018, hk, he)- h2018 is a direct sequel to h1. its been 40 years since that night. michaels been locked up since then and laurie is alive and batshit crazy. h2018, hk, and he is one long continued night (like they do in h1 and h2). h2018 they kinda give him a reason as to why he kills ppl but they also say he's a lean, mean, fighting machine and kills for no reason. hk is basically michael killing and "this ends tonight!". since the last movie hasn't come out yet (won't come out till next year) we don't know if they'll go into further as to why michael kills ppl. they also retconned a major plot that they give in h2 (john carpenter, director/writer, admitted it was a drunken mistake) which had fans fighting whether it was the right move or not. gore score would be 8/10. those two movies are two of the most graphic films in this story franchise. rob zombie did remake the movies h1 and h2, you don't need to watch those and honestly the videos would prolly be taken down immediately. they are pretty graphic, but its his own version of what he thought it should be. in h1 zombie gave a whole back story on michaels childhood for the first half of the movie. gore score is def a 10/10
