My kid brother is an Extra in this movie. When the teacher talks about fate, he gets some good screen time (He's an Indie Film Director and Actor). I know it's not much but I'm proud of the dude lol He actually got to have a lengthy convo with Jaime Lee Curtis and Mike Castle (The Body Actor of Michael) which I'm totally not jealous.

Jamie Lee Curtis has finally been nominated for an academy award for the very first time for the 2023 academy awards. she's been nominated for best supporting actress for her role in the film Everything Everywhere All at Once. how exciting it would be to see Jamie Lee Curtis walk up to the oscar stage to recieve her very first oscar statue. especially after she came back and reprised her role as Laurie Strode in the recent Halloween trilogy for Blumhouse too..

This should have been saved for the end of the trilogy. All of Laurie's preparations paying off, getting Michael, and getting her family back, all a satisfying ending, especially compared to what we got.

This movie was really well done, I like that it pretty much ignores all the other remakes and sequels (which were mostly pretty bad) and is basically a direct sequel to the original from 1978.

Moustapha Akkad was the producer of the original Halloween series. He and his daughter were killed in a 2005 hotel bombing in Aaman, Jordan. Also, Busta Rhymes was in Halloween: Resurrection; the eighth, and final, installment of the original series.

I love Horror, and it’s not because I get scared, I haven’t been scared of a horror film since a child. It’s because I think it’s rad, BECAUSE I know it’s fake, and I’m impressed by all the work and artistic work it takes to make realistic practical effects. That’s why we horror fans are also less impressed with CGI in films.

This movie represents the first of the Blumhouse Timeline. It is supposed to be a retcon/reboot of nearly all the previous Halloween movies, save for the first one from 1978. So, plots and events from earlier movies are totally ignored. Even Halloween II from 1981 is also rendered irrelevant to this movie. Only the first Halloween movie is considered. Sequels of this movie are Halloween Kills (2021) and Halloween Ends (2022) released a week before this writing.

Personal horror movie recomendations (not counting the ones mentioned in the discussion): Nightmare on Elm street (plus parts 2, 3 and Wes Craven's new nightmare) Friday the 13th part IV (the first 3 are not really that good and part 4 recaps the most important parts) plus part 6 (and Jason X if you want something less serious) Child's play (the entire Chucky franchise is worth watching honestly) Black christmas (the original) Texas chainsaw massacre (the second one is also good) The evil dead movies Tucker and Dale vs evil (more of a horror comedy) Willy's Wonderland and Mandy (both have Nic Cage) Hellraiser Candyman My bloody valentine (the original) Halloween III: season of the witch (has nothing to do with Michael Myers but it has an interesting concept)

On the note of other holidays to be horrors, the theater kids at my college made Thankskilling, a movie about murderous turkey for their final project but then got a huge donation to be funded for a sequeal because it got a small following. They're terrible but it's hilarious

2:25 Horror fans don't get scared when they watch these movies. I have been a fan since my early ages and I hardly ever got scared watching a horror movie. There are some that do come close, but we horror fans don't get scared of these movies because, I guess, we know they are just movies There have been times when I ask myself why I love them so much but I never have a good answer.

You think the cop Hawkins was the cop with loomis in the 78 movie?? ROFLOLOLOL WTF? That movie was 40 years ago, he'd be like 85 or so. Hawkins is around 60, the sheriff in the 78 movie, brackett is in the next halloween movie you'll see how old he is. Yes he would have killed the baby if he FELT like it, he just moved on ignoring it it wasn't something in his way. If he came back an hour later, or was there a bit sooner he might have felt like killing the baby. HIS whole MO is the fact he really is all evil. He literally does or doesn't do shit when and if he feels like it. He wasn't think it's a baby I shouldn't kill it that's bad lol.

He absolutely killed the kid in the car whose actor was 11. He also would have killed the kids and Julian had they gotten in the way. He avoided the baby but once they are able to be up and in his way, they are fodder for Michael.

So Laurie shouldn't have left her basement, she should have set it up to where she has camera's throughout her house and monitors in the basement rigged up the house with those trap doors. and captured michael, ensured he couldn't escape those trap doors and than have a secret exit in the basement than unloaded a dozen clips into him and than waited until the police came
