In my opinion Halloween (2018) and Halloween: Kills were really good movies but Halloween Ends is a nightmarish atrocity.

I’m so glad you had the balls to do an honest review. So many on here couldn’t handle the potential backlash of having a negative review on this movie. Too many Halloween sympathizers on here. They even went so far as to say it was good. I was disappointed to see these channels, especially the ones I sub to, make a false review. One in particular is the mud flap hair guy. I won’t say his name but he has a popular horror channel. His channel really emphasizes The Halloween Franchise. You could just tell Mud Flap hair wasn’t genuine. Again, thank you so much for being genuine, real, & honest. You just gained another sub. Happy Halloween! 🎃 🔪

I enjoyed the 2 before this being Halloween and Halloween kills, I mean if you're looking for plot go see something else. I get what they were trying to do, having Michael Meyers die with the possibility of anyone taking his place down the road for another Halloween movie. I was fine with that but what I absolutely hated is that a mass murderer was basically bullied by a kid who accidentally committed a crime 4 years prior, I mean he fought with Michael and then basically beat him up and took his mask.

Loved your review and I agree. I'm hoping for a totally new reboot of the franchise with ONE timeline. I thought for sure they were going to go somewhere with Corey. It looked as though that there was a power transfer. Even after Corey killed himself I thought, well that wouldn't have stopped Michael 🤔 Then Michael comes in and breaks his neck as if to make sure he doesn't get back up. It's as though the writers were going to make him the new "Shape" then changed their mind over half way through the movie. Very sloppy.

THE MOVIE IS SUPPOSE TO BE ABOUT MICHAEL MYERS VS. LAURE WE SUPPOSED TO HAVE A BIG FIGHT

Halloween Ends is one hour and 51 minutes in total length but Michael Myers appears on-screen in less than 10 minutes of it, which means his character was essentially a guest star in what was supposed to be the final send-off film for this franchise and its two main, iconic characters. The plot focus on Corey Copycat and Laurie Strode's granddaughter was a complete waste of time and space in this film, as was the fact that the film was set four years after the previous two installments, which also made no sense. David Gordon Green and his crew of misfit writers clearly had no idea what they were doing at any point during this film's production, and it is hard to imagine how a worse film could have possibly been made, especially given what was at stake. The entire Halloween franchise and its two focal characters, Laurie Strode and Michael Myers, were all massacred and desecrated in this horrid excuse of a film. Amazingly, but perhaps not so surprisingly, the original 'Halloween II' sequel of 1981 still remains to this day as the best sequel of all for this franchise, even 42 years later. Dr Loomis: "It's time, Michael." Click. KABOOOOM! That's where this franchise should have ended, and stayed "ended", folks. No further debate or discussion required. Next.

They need to throw the whole trilogy in the garbage, and reboot it. Halloween 2018 was mediocre, average at best. The pacing was fast and the kills were lame. The only good thing about Halloween Kills was the kills, and the 70s scenes. I honestly would've preferred a halloween film filmed now that took place in the 70s. It looked so much better, so much fun! The concept for Ends was good but for a different movie, not for this one. How Laurie was looking and feeling in Ends, she should've been like that in 2018, finally getting over her trauma then boom Micheal shows up, catching her off guard, pretty much like in H20. The whole mob thing in Halloween Kills should've been the concept for Halloween Ends, finally killing Micheal and Karen lives. Alot of pieces of the story are out of order, and makes no sense. I always thought Halloween 2018 should've been the stand alone final film and I always liked the idea that it should've been Laurie who was the one that broke Micheal out so she can kill him maybe by accident and he escapes because she became so obsessed and wanted revenge for her friends, and for attacking her that night. Everybody finds out and hates her for it but she saves everyone, the town, her family by killing Micheal and sacrificing, dying herself. It made more sense to me then that the stupid psychiatrist causing the bus to crash. So unoriginal smh but I heard they did something like that, and people didn't like the test screening.

I really wish I knew what the original script was to this. I'm sure it was way better because it takes place right after the deleted ending of Halloween Kills. It was going to be the final chapter of that same night in 2018. You probably already knew that but damn do I wish we would have gotten that story. That's what I'm mainly going to think about every time this movie pops up in my mind.

Halloween ends could've of been the best one of all of them ! I feel like there's a whole movie missing in between Kills and Ends ..after Kills there seems like there would've been a huge manhunt for Michael but nah there wasn't.

Thank you!!!! I hated this movie so much it made me angry, the only part I remotely enjoyed was the fight between Laurie and Michael. Otherwise, for a large majority of the plot it felt too much like Friday the 13th New Beginning. If they wanted to go the torch passing route than Corey should have been introduced early on in the franchise. I’d rather watch Season of the Witch than whatever the F this shit was!

Well, I consider H20 to be the best ending to the franchise. They made way too much out of Laurie and Michael's relationship if she was nothing but a babysitter in the first film. She was way too nuts after that one incident 40 years ago. Laurie in H20 felt like a lot stronger and more natural in her psychosis. And with one chop, Laurie still ended up looking as bad ass as Ellen Ripley

I really liked 2018 and kills was ok but this one is just awful in a mind boggling way. Too many decisions that can only be described as insane to list. I'm at the point where I'm tired of talking about it.

The best thing would be to take all the rolls of film and put them in a scrap press and not Michael Myers revange instead revenge for Michael Myers. Perhaps, as many think, John Carpenter is not the inventor of Michael Myers, but a good friend of his who said come, let's invent a serial killer a Halloween and find a mask that scares. In a costume shop they found a Kapitan Kirk mask and painted it white and made the eyes bigger and that's how Michael Myers was created. John Carpenter directed and composed the soundtrack, so he's sort of the creator of Michael Myers. After a few films he left the direction to Moustapha Akkad but continued with the film music because this is perfect. Moustapha Akkad and Donald Pleasence were a huge fan of Halloween and Michael Myers and said he should never be blown up or slaughtered and preferably give more than 20 films about it based on many interviews and what are David Gordon Green and Jamie Lee Curtis doing? See in my other comment what I think about them. I wish the makers of Halloween ends would think more about the fans and we want to see Michael Myers, they who has loved him, since they were teenagers or are the from Michael Myers new fans😊

Honestly, I have bitched about how bad this trilogy is until I can't stand to repeat myself any longer. To say Ends was a good movie is someone who has no investment in the Halloween series, or just enjoys being one of those people who likes going against the grain to say they liked what everyone else hated. Effing horrible.

They could have at least not that it would have made the movie any better but as she threw Michael into the shredder just have him grab her and dragged her down with him fade2black halloween-themed plays it still would have been a trash movie but the ending would have been memorable

Let’s remake this movie🎃 While Halloween 2018 was pretty decent and Halloween Kills was not that great but salvageable and could be ok if they were to do some reshoots and heavy editing, Halloween Ends needs to be placed in another universe and A whole new story needs to be put in its place.  Let’s face it, a good portion of the whole Halloween franchise has not been very good. The First two movies were the best and in my opinion, Halloween ended in 1981.🎃 Halloween three was a good idea to be a break in between movies. And Halloween four was a decent comeback movie with pretty good potential. But honestly, pretty much everything else has been kind of bad. The whole problem with the new trilogy is that they’ve been trying to unmask Michael Myers and somehow humanizing him. Rule number one is you never, never ever, take off Michael Myers mask and show his face and try to humanize him. It’s like they’re trying to do some kind of woke Michael Myers.lol Someone thought it would be cool to try to make some deep, romantical, philosophical, story out of all of this and try to, “make sense of it all“ Even Dr. Loomis, in all of his education, knowledge and understanding, (Who probably knew Michael better than anyone)finally came to the place of understanding that Michael Myers was nothing more than, “pure evil and needed to die“ I understand why we continue to make these movies and it’s because we all felt something powerful and magical when these characters and this story came to screen. And we find it hard to let go. We need to get somebody to write the story and direct that understands the magic of those first movies and give the fans, the true fans what it is that made Halloween, Halloween. 

Finally some sanity about this movie! This movie was awful beyond measure, I dosed off a couple of times on it when it became an episode of the Gilmore Girls, Murder She Wrote and Dawson’s Creek. Just about every RU-vid review I’ve come across has praised this awful clusterfvck for being “different”. Glad you kept it absolutely real and told the truth about it being Garbage juice. Blumhouse is about to ruin the exorcist next

The novelization is really good and I do enjoy Kills and Ends as guilty pleasures. DGG wanted each film in this trilogy to be different and he succeeded in that for better or worse depending on your opinion.

You know which one I liked. Might be wrong for this. I really loved Halloween H20. Only they weren't brother and sister. Or they might have been. However her son. How cool have that have been. If it was her son being hunted or Hunting down Uncle Mike! I don't know they had something there

i think they ended "halloween ends" because they know they might do another reboot or start another brunch in the halloween universe "if not try explanding on one of the other exsiting ones"

It’s the absolute worst ending to any Francise and I think it should be remade to give it a better conclusion and I overall give it a -10/10

Definetly Halloween 2018 is the true ending, Halloween kills is really good, I like it but Halloween ends literally is crap, just pure crap. The director should've done something like the lord of the rings trilogy, do a 6 hour movie and make it a trilogy, I mean, the 4 year gap is stupid, all the events should have happened on the very same night, specially after the ending we saw in halloween kills, it would've been more personal and intense. Oh and the final battle between Laurie and Michael was the best part of the movie BUT the fight they both had in halloween 2018 is WAAAAAY much better in every aspect, however the way Michael is disposed is just lame.

No!!!!!!! The premise of the story with Cory's background story is HORRIBLE. Like Halloween Kills with that horrible side story with the mob attack on the wrong guy, the writers wanted to give us (preach) their social views on society, uhhh I just came to watch a Halloween slasher film.

This film *ENDS* may qualify as a half-decent experimental " stand alone " film in the Halloween universe, at best, but as the Trilogy-Capper after the first two films which I enjoyed : the 2018 Halloween and Halloween Kills were a lot of fun and interesting, ENDS just fails on so many levels, disrespecting the emotional investment the audience had in the first two films and their character-journeys. ENDS just ruined the momentum, build-up, relationship dynamics of the characters and the whole narrative point of the first two movies and squandered the opportunity they had for a real kick ass film that dealt with the horrific fall-out from Halloween Kills and a satisfying conclusion to the three films and went for " lets defy audience expectation " The Last Jedi-style (*remember how bad THAT film was ???*) sh*t-show and they really jumped the shark with ENDS, dishonouring The Shape's legacy into the bargain, treating the audience like idiots and only adding a fight between Laurie Strode and Michael Myers at the end almost as an after-thought ! ENDS is rather pointless, tonally alien to the first two films, introduces a character no-one knows or cares about and creates a film that is mostly forgettable and not worth the celluloid it was printed on. ENDS FAILS.

I am also very disappointed in the film and most of all in Jamie Lee Curtis. I hope it's a flop and it really doesn't have much to do with the Michael Myers cult. I grew up watching the movies and I hate this Halloween Ends script. I compare it to Terminator and I would prefer the actress to Jamie Lee Curtis because she appreciates the role of the cult Terminator more. I know the interviews of both actresses and was also initially a fan of Jamie Lee Curtis but she often has something to criticize and I think she worked a lot on this script and I'm angry because Michael Myers wasn't the main character but Jamie Lee Curtis and She didn't like the acting role in the first Halloween film and even in Halloween 20 years later she felt fooled that the films continued and she killed the wrong person but she did it for money and I would have preferred she had gotten out before but her she's really a good actress. But I can also understand that many want something new and that's my other comment on what I meant and for my English sorry😊

Man this movie is a mixed bag for me. Honestly don't know where I stand on it but man this trilogy had a lot of missed opportunities. I will say though I thought the actor that played Cory did a good job I thought Jamie Lee Curtis was was good but idk I feel like they could have gone in a different direction with the last movie. Oh and as someone who grew up in a small town in Illinois I never met anyone with a Jersey accent like Corey's mom and that marching band douche.

The best parts of this trilogy is Allyson. Halloween Ends I ONLY liked the Corey/Allyson stuff. Everything else I didn't care for and I didn't care for Laurie at all in this trilogy. I'd rather watch H20 than any of these lol. Just bring Danielle Harris's Jamie Lloyd back to save this franchise. Give us a proper trilogy to H4 because H5 wasn't it. Corey should of lasted much longer and had a conclusion to his story or if not, why include him at all?

I always liked Halloween Kills, but now I like it even more. Holy dog shit, what a bad movie. 2018 was alright. I don’t like it as much as some people but it’s decent. Kills was slightly worse to me but more entertaining. This, wow. It’s not even entertainingly bad. It’s just bad.

This film isn't what I was expecting and not what I wanted for an end to this trilogy but Halloween ends ended up being my favorite film this year. It's a wild and psychotic film and I loved everything about it especially Corey's turn to evil, his character is the biggest reason I loved this film. And this is one of my favorite trilogies of all time now with three great films.

I kind off liked Halloween Kills. It´s not perfect but it was fun. Ends thought is a complete BS movie that disrespects everything done in the other two movies. Laurie makes no sense as the character stabilished in the other two and Michael is made into a mockery senile old man. The last battle has no stakes because the whole movie decided to focus on a very bad character, a stupid romance and Michael simple stumbles onto Laurie by pure luck. The battle was bad too, too short and badly shot. The whole movie is a joke.

Halloween Ends was probably my most anticipated movie of 2022. Coming from someone who loved both Halloween 2018, and Halloween Kills, I found this one to be quite disappointing. I was actually hooked on the opening scene. I was intrigued and invested as the story went on. But it all fell apart for me in the 3rd act. (Spoilers.) So Michael Myers went from this unstoppable killing machine in the previous movie, but now is so weak he can get beat up by Cory. Myers went from being able to take on and kill an entire mob of people, to now he cant even beat an old Laurie Strode in one on one combat. The ending was just a huge disappointment. Hawkins and especially Lindsay barely get to do anything in this movie. And i cant help but feel Myers was disrespected in this movie. That being said, even after all of that, I still cant say i hated this movie. Like I said said, the first 2 acts were great, i love the characters, i love the score, I enjoyed the kills and carnage candy. And i was on board for the premise. I do think there is a version of this story that was great, and that all comes across in execution. Perhaps if we would have had an ultimate final battle in this final chapter, then it would work. In my preferred ending to Halloween Ends, I would have everything play as follows until Cory Myers shows up at Lourie house. Except make it clear that Myers is using Cory to kill in order to get his strength back. Lourie fights Cory Myers and gets him pinned down. Lourie takes off his Myers mask, revealing it's not Michael, it's Cory. It proceeds as follows as Cory "kills himself" to shock Alison and she leaves. Myers instead of killing Cory bestows onto him more supernatural power. Laurie is shocked to see Cory alive, when all of a sudden Myers appears behind her and kills her. Yes Lourie dies in my ending. Officer Hawkins, Lindsay Wallice, and a bunch of other officers come in and surround the 2 killers. Hawkins and Lindsay are horrifed to see Lourie dead. They all charge Myers, but Myers is unstoppable as well as Cory thanks to the supernatural power Myers bestowed on to him. They kill all the police officers and only Hawkins and Lindsay remain. Myers then kills Hawkins in a sad scene, solidifying all hope is lost. Lindsay, the only one left is about to be killed by Cory, when Alison charges in after seeing all the cops make their way to her home. She persuades Cory that there is still good in him and In a heartwarming scene like Luke with Vader, and then Cory then stabs Myers instead. Myers ain't taking this shot though, then kills Cory. As Myers is weakened both Alison and Lindsay charge at him. Myers though weakened, is still to strong and overpowers them. As Myers is about to kill Alison, Lindsay then sacrifices herself to save her. Before Lindsay dies she removes Myers mask, as the mask is essentially Myers greatest strength. With this opening Alison then slits Myers throat, stabs the fck out of him a bunch of times, and finally hacks his whole head off. After everything that has transpired, Alison leaves Haddonfield as she has nothing left here, as the movie fades to black. Sure maybe it's not the most perfect ending in the world, but it is much more of a grander finally then what we got. This is just the opinion of a die hard Halloween fan, who loves these characters and especially Michael Myers. With all that being said, I still think the movie is okay overall. It's a 3/5 for me.

I like Halloween 2018. It wasn't great but it was probably the second best one of the series which isn't saying much. But i have completely lost faith in Hollywood. I mean before the woke weirdo Hollywood days sometimes they tried and sometimes a good memorable well made movie came out but... I'll pretend Michael Died in the basement fire. They've fucked up Predator, Starwars, Terminator and I mean I can't say they've fucked up Halloween because most of the movies are beyond terrible but .
