Wow!! I can’t believe I found you doing this Halloween Panel Video at the same time I’m working on a set of 4 smaller ones. 👻 Your idea of running the border pieces like this would have saved me a lot of time…and you made it look much funnier‼️🎃
Very pretty I’m doing a Halloween quilt this year. But I’m using fabric got it Walmart about 2 years ago. Thank you 🙏🏾 for sharing God bless you and your family have a blessed day
Wonderful! Put those fabrics to good use ... it is always nice to use up some of the stash! Thanks for watching ... and I hope you have a blessed day as well!.. -- April
This is a great video. Thank you for sharing your ideas and process. I have multiple times started with one idea and cha GED my mind in the middle of the process. I have a number of panels I have had for a long time. These panel quilt videos have given me lots of inspiration and ideas.
I like making lap throws as well using a panel piece and then adding borders. Matter of fact, I have several projects like that to complete yet. I love the panel piece you found. It's not too goulish but definitely Halloween -ish! Great job!!
Love your creativity and the finished product looks awesome. My problem with panels is trying to keep them from getting too long or too wide when adding borders. If I thought it was too long, I would have cut maybe 2 inch strips off the top and bottom and sewn them together and then added them to the sides. But I like how yours looks!! The pumpkin side borders look great. Thanks for sharing! As always, enjoyed watching your video!
Hi Anita .... Thank you for watching ... that is the best part ... you can kind of adjust the strips with the kind of panel you have to make it work. Thank you so much for watching! --- April
What a great idea for a quilt, April. I love the striped borders at the top and bottom. Would not have thought about doing that. Those jack-o-lanterns are the best part, I believe too, but I LOVE that huge moon! Thanks for the super idea! I’m not much of a panel person, but I might have to look for a landscape panel and give it a whirl! Maybe I can track down the same one you have here.
Another great video! Love the results and really appreciate that you share your thought process. I have at least half dozen Halloween panels and you have inspired me! I share your videos and hope I have helped you get more subscribers.
Wooooo hooooo today is a goooooooood day .. … APRIL, QUILTING AND HALLOWEEN , could it get any better ?? Oh yeah chocolate 🍫… …. I loved all the constipated looks at the end 😂😂😂. What do you do with all the quilts you have made ? I’m new to quilting and have only done 2 full ones , one for me , a wedding gift for my son and his wife and a cot quilt. Xxxx
I'm am glad you enjoyed my video. I put my thumbnail pics at the end so I don't have to download them separately because I am lazy. LOL. I give my quilts away to family, friends and charity when I finally finish them. I am sure your son and his new bride loved your gift. Thank you for watching. April
Love it!!! I’m curious on how you finished the quilt meaning the back. I was hoping you show how to finish the quilt. 🥺😔 do you happen to have done a video on that already? If so, please let me know ☺️
It used to not be my favorite, but since I enjoy fall so much I've gotten into the carved pumpkins that are plastic with the light in them. LOL. And I like 'fun' Halloween, not scary Halloween. April
Is there a video of how to finish this? Did you put a border on the top? Did you use any backing and then hand stitch around the barn? I'm new to quilting and I have purchased many panels to get started. I have not seen anyone cut off the white border of the panel, they cover that with binding. Thanks for this fun video.
I found the panel at a quilt shop in Denver Colorado, but they were out so I ordered from Etsy. There were several Etsy Stores that had it. If I see it in one of my local stores, I will let you know - they take phone orders. Thank you for watching and commenting. April
www.etsy.com/listing/1043621921/hoffman-haunted-halloween-t4863-192?ref=hp_rv-1. I found it on Etsy - that is one link, but there are others. :-). Thank you for watching. April
The quilt looks awesome April. If you where going to make a throw would you Still put batting in between the front and back or a piece of flannel or sheet (being a thinner fabric than batting)?
I think I am going to try minky with no batting. Everyone seems to love the feel of the minky and it is heavier. I've put batting in between the front and the minky, but some people might think it is too warm. I should ask my niece if she likes a lighter quilt or a heavier quilt. I think that is what I will do. LOL. Flannel on the back would be nice too. Thank you for watching. April
That is an excellent question. I will quilt a pattern around the things I want to highlight. So I will quilt around the barn and around the moon. If I put a smaller pattern in between - that should bring out those elements in the panel. I was thinking about doing different designs in the strips for practice. I need to practice ribbon candy and wishbones. And then maybe in some of the strips quilt bats. I haven't done bats before but I think I have a bat pattern from Quilted Joy that I can trace with a pen over and over to get the movement down and then I will attempt to quilt it with my sewing machine. :-). Thank you for watching. April
I agree I am lucky .. I hate that you don't have those where you are ... maybe it will catch on and it will change soon. Thank you for watching! -- April
