This how-to will show you how to use an Smart IR remote to automate the process of turning on and operating a projector to run halloween projections. Of course you can use this for other holidays too. The app even runs tons of other smart devices so have fun with that too!!
I wanted to get this video out as soon as i can and maybe next year or this winter i'll get a better one done but quick, dirty and informative is the way i roll!!

Thank you so much for this enlightening video. I have one simple question which I’m not sure I heard it explained. Can I use my existing IPhone to control the projector while I’m traveling? Or, are you saying I must use a tablet or IPhone and have it remain physically attached to the appropriate devices for this to work? I’m looking for WiFi capability from my phone while traveling. I want everything this does that you pointed out but want my phone to remain in my hands. Look forward to your response!

Sorry for the late response. The tablet or phone that has the app has to stay on the wifi that the IR devices are on. Thats why i suggested to use an older tablet or phone you aren't regularly using so that it can just stay plugged in inside the house and run as needed

11th starts the full show, this monday-wed is soft opening. everything is on except projections and fog every night till the 11th. tweaking some stuff

So I did this and in my house it worked. I un plugged the remote and plugged it back in outside by my projector and it wouldn’t reconnect to my WiFi and even after bringing it back inside it wouldn’t reconnect. Any thoughts?

so it may not be getting the wifi signal. I would try to reconnect the sensor while outside using the app. your device you are using to connect the sensor must be on 2.4 ghz wifi. The other option is to reset it completely by pressing the button on the bottom of the sensor

Yes but not like screen on just on. I have it plugged in in the same room as the ir blaster and it works great. Because the app is what is making the ir blaster do it's thing and if it's not on then it can't operate the app

I have 3 projectors. Do I need one of the remote thingys for each projector or will 1 run them all?

So you'll need one for each if the projectors aren't in the same area, so if you have 2 windows that have 2 projectors then you can do that, but the IR needs to be able to be seen by both projectors. so if you can't use a remote on more than 1 in the space, get one of these for each projector

Do you loop your projection? Mine runs for about 15 minutes then stops. I have the same projector as you and it has the loop button.

if you only have one file on the whole SD card it will just run in a loop. i've never had to press the loop button. i ran this exact projector for 4 hours last night and did what i did on the video.

I have on my projectors four to five scenes on each projector and they just keep looping until the projector turns off as long as the file is check marked

i think it's how you programed your "home" button on that last step. On my controller the home button was the "play" button. so check your button configurations and see what one is your play button
