Im not a fan of RZ's H2 but Danielle Harris's character death is pretty emotional and the music and flashbacks of her as a young girl is well done. Funny how H1 has a very unwatchable 1st 20 minutes but H2 has one of the best 1st 20 minutes in the entire series.

I remember watching Halloween 3 for the first time as a 13 y/o kid and being SO frustrated waiting for Michael Myers to show up. I ended up hating that movie and refused to watch it again until 2021 during the pandemic. Now it’s my #2 most favorite H movies. Expectation and perspective is everything. 🍿🍿🍿

For those interested, B&B Theaters, at least here in Kansas City, has been showing horror on their Tuesday retro movie night all this month. Tonight is, Trick r Treat. But next Tuesday is the original HALLOWEEN. I've never seen it on the big screen. Showings are 4 and 7pm. If you live near a B&B theater maybe check it. Happy Halloween everyone!

As someone who actually really enjoys Rob Zombie's movies and digs his Halloween mini-franchise I yelled "YES!" when you put Halloween 2 as high as you did!

The plot of Halloween Ends should have been in Kills. Or at least parts of it. Have Michael survive H18, have him disappear and then bring in the Corey storyline and get it to play out as it did in Ends but replace Michael's death with either Allyson or Karen. Then, in the final movie, get the whole town to form two mobs; one led by Karen/Allyson and the other by Laurie. Wipe out the former, wipe out most of Laurie's and then have the final confrontation.

I enjoyed kills in the theater because at the scene where Lori is in the hospital bed and it's quite someone in the audience farted and all of us laughed for like five minutes and took out whatever tension was supposed to be in the scene lol

When I was a kid my Grandfather showed me Season of the Witch. I didn't know it was the third installment of the Halloween Series at the time being a young young buck but I loved it! It wasn't until I got a bit older I realized it when some cable channel played a marathon of Halloween. I remember thinking" I can't wait to see Halloween 3 cause I have never seen it before". A gotcha moment occurred when the movie opened and i felt like a dummy. Lucky me though, I was able to watch the film again and I enjoyed it even more. Every Halloween I start the night with Season of the Witch before Halloween 1 and 2

Agree with your thoughts on ends alot. Halloween ends should have been focused on the story of michael and laurie leading up to the end of there story.. The movie we got should have been the movie after Halloween ends. Replace the third act with Corey taking up the mantle or Michael possessing Cory some how. Since the first 2 acts are seemingly building toward one of those outcomes. Then he can carry on and either terrorize the grand daughter or move on to someone else

Cody, you're easily the most easy to watch content creator on RU-vid. Your narration and exposition flow seamlessly. Keep up the great work. I can tell you're an extremely humble and likable guy in real life.

These tier lists are always fun to watch. This is a very hit and miss franchise when you get the right people but it's one of my favorite franchises. Rob Zombie's Halloween 2, I'm on that island with you but I will acknowledge it's problems.

The mob-mentality idea actually works well in Halloween 4 with the rednecks. Loomis is forced to recruit them to hunt down Michael after he kills the entire police force and the sheriff has no choice but to let it happen, even though, it results in them drunkenly killing someone that they thought was Michael later on. The mob in Kills just felt like forced political commentary and took away from potential development we could've had with other characters like Allyson, or even more scenes set during the '78 night. Hell, I'd rather have a film set right after H1 in the new timeline (RIP Halloween II) where everyone is hunting down Michael and Haddonfield is freaking the fuck out over what happened. Make there be more of a connection between Laurie and the officer she chatted with in H2018 about Michael's return and what not.

If you watch Kills through the lens of “it’s a dark comedy”it works 😂😂😂. I prefer Ends to 2018 actually. Thanks for the tier list!

Honestly, Halloween Ends should have been a spin-off that was set between Kills and the final movie in the trilogy. That way you properly set up Cody and he and Michael can team up in the last movie. Cody would die in the middle of the last movie and then you have a strong ending with Michael and Laurie. I loved the direction they went in, but they didn’t commit to it and gave a stale ending. It’s a mixed bag that I love and hate.

My fav is H20. Love the atmosphere, the Story, the Kills and of course Laurie. As you said Cody she is strong and human here. As Always, great Video!

I really like this tier list! The only personal opinion of mine that I would change is I would put Ends at the bottom. It had an interesting concept, but never fully explored it. If the kills were interesting then I would put it higher, but I felt everything in Ends was so forced.

For me before Halloween ends. H20 is the most lackluster film in the franchise. It is more boring than Halloween 5. At least Halloween 5 has an interesting Michael Myers and it is still creepy, scary, and eerie all the stuff you want in the Halloween franchise. If you give me an uninteresting Michael in a Michael Myers film like in h20 and in Halloween Ends you know it's a bad film.

The aftermath of Halloween Ends feels unreal. I feel like it kinda dampened October for me.

Here’s my thing with the new Halloween trilogy Halloween ends should be first to watch deleted the Laurie and Michael fight at the end and the time jump then it should be Halloween kills so Michael is getting stronger and stronger then he disappears like Halloween ends for 4 years THEN Halloween 2018 where Laurie has been training for Michael to make his comeback add the final fight with them i feel like if they ever did that it would have made a big difference but that’s just my opinion what do you guys think?!

I actually like what Zombie did with Halloween. I like the back story and family tragedy aspect. It could have just been another slasher film but at least he tried something new for Myers.

HALLOWEEN 3: Evil Dies Tonight I like the first Half, The Second, loses me HALLOWEEN 4: Evil Dies Tonight: Too 80's MTV, a Bad movies with Lame Kills. Don't like that I have a punch of new Characters thrown at me, and No Laurie. Even though I like Rachel and Jamie. They aren't the ones I wanna see. And just that she written off, but there's things I like about it as well. Like the Halloween Vibe. Every Loomis scene Especially that first half. Never Loved it like like most do. HALLOWEEN 5: Stop It: Terrible but fun and funny to laugh at HALLOWEEN 6: Happy Halloween: Guilty Pleasure. this is one that Scares me. This one gave me Nightmares. I love it. It is a little underwhelming. It is a little boring. KILLS: Trick or Treat: makes RZH2 look like a masterpiece, was a mess! Was a corny, cringe, over the top, nonsensical, terrible mess of a movie. The other terrible movie where I can't even have fun laughing at. Ends: Trick Or Treat: again the 3rd terrible movie that I can't even have fun laughing at. And I think is my least favorite. Cause not only can I not have fun laughing at with how bad it is. I'm also bored out of my mind. If that wasn't enough. They give me the worst Michael I've ever Seen! By Far. It's like they hated him in the movie, and made him a bitch, and corny, and Hardy have him in it. Oh yeah and if that wasn't enough the vibe of everything is so...bland, doesn't feel like a Halloween movie just....like a typical modern horror movie that Michael is hardly in. Which makes it feel even more boring. Laurie is great the credits are great, But Screw this movie.

I think Halloween 1978 has aged so poorly that I think nostalgia makes people rate it higher than it deserves. The film moves so slow in the middle and the final chase sequence isn't scary at all. The poor ADR of Laurie screaming makes me cringe and just wish they would of toned it down a bit.

I loved your first watch reaction to Halloween Ends. It was hilarious, but also ambiguous, but yet very enticing to go see it. And then you placed it in the middle on the tier list. When it comes to horror movies, I'm generally in agreement with you (except for RZH2 haha!) so I'm morbidly curious and excited to see Halloween Ends.

If only Halloween 6 was made after Paul Rudd became Ant Man, he could've totally went up Michael's ass and grown big.

For me: (none of these are in any order within the categories) The Devil's Eyes: Would have Halloween 3, Halloween 2 and Halloween Kills Happy Halloween: Would have Halloween 6, RZ's Halloween 2, Halloween 2018, Halloween Ends and Halloween 1978 Evil Dies Tonight: Would have Halloween 4, Halloween H20 and RZ's Halloween 1 Stop it: Would have Halloween Resurrection and Halloween 5. And I wouldn't put any in Trick or Treat, as I don't hate any of these films. But although we have differences, Halloween 3 is my favourite and Halloween 5 is my least favourite! Similar to you.

i loved Halloween Ends? however, i think it was a complete mistake to do that movie as the final part in a trilogy. i don't understand why they thought that was a good idea! Ends is not how you end a trilogy at all. i think the entire concept of this movie would have worked better as its own standalone thing. not as an ending to this trilogy. but in isolation i loved it and i hope they do more bold ballsy shit with this franchise in the future

Cody you know you love Tina Williams Halloween 5 The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989). She put her life in the line to save Jamie and Billy. 5 also carries the atmosphere that people are looking for when they watch these movies. 5 is better than any 3 of this latest trilogy and better than Resurrection

Rob Zombies Remake would have been better just having 2 acts, have the first half set in the asylum, have more time understanding the loomis and myers relationship. Then have the second half when Michael escapes znd goes back home. Nobody wanted to see myers as a boy brought up in an atmosphere that was gonna push him only 1 way. We didn't need a reason why he's a maniac.

I actually kinda like Tina, she is really nice to Jamie and passively gets her to speak again. However she definitely really annoying towards the end.

I’ve never heard or saw someone say or write Rob Zombies H1 is one of the best in the franchise. However, I’ve never looked for it either. I’m sure plenty of people have said it. Some probably said it for attention/clicks and some becuase they truly believe it. Lovf your honesty and content, Cody!

Finally some Halloween 6 semi love. Alot of people say it’s one if the worst. It’s REALLY NOT. It’s actually watchable and decent. 3/5 stars

For me, Myers in H6 was the best of the lot. Absolutely brutal!! My fave Myers for sure and same with the mask.

My Ranking is Tier 1: Halloween 78 and RZ Halloween, Tier 2: Halloweens 2, 3, 6 and Kills. Tier 3: Halloweens 4, 5, H20, Halloween 2018 and Halloween Ends. Tier 4: RZ Halloween II. Tier 5: Resurrection.

First tier: Halloween 2 1981, Halloween 3, Halloween 2007 Second tier: Halloween 1978, Halloween H20, Halloween Kills Third tier: Halloween 2018, Halloween 2 2009 Fourth tier: Halloween 4, Halloween 6, Halloween Ends Fifth tier: Halloween 5, Halloween Resurrection These aren’t in order in each tier, I’ll save that for the ranking. I’m not as high on the original as most people are. I like it, but it’s never been one of my favorite slashers. I always preferred some of the sequels.
