A phyrric victory, winning a battle that loses us the war, would be a great end to an expansion. One thing that would really sully that though is if our small victory was "All According to Plan." Have it be costly for the Void, just a cost they can bare. Maybe they were planning to create whatever Void Incursion that we get in Midnight with Beledar since it's so close to Azeroth's heart. And maybe part of our desperate plan to win has these Arathi Humans invoke their old deal compact with Quel'thalas, having Lor'themar commit huge amounts of their defenders to this fight, and Xal'atath seeing the loss, has Iridikron seal us underground while she takes the Sunwell as a consolation.
I don't know what they'll do with with Faerie Lothar but everything blizzard seems to write for their top female characters is always the same. Victim boss girl that gets very mad from time to time and do bad stuff but then she gets sad and we have to have empathy for her. I don't have much hope for her.
I think that jump into danger to save their people is a parallel to his father, showing he is becoming his worthy son, I don't think he'll turn into a "bad guy" again.
I think, at the 'worst', Anduin will learn to utilize the Void given he's a Priest.. even though that's a tad iffy now. It'd be cool to see him use both though.
they are so desperate to make you like faerun, she bosses around the general, doesn't want prosthetics because she's so good, visits children at orphanage, takes you to bar for drinks, sympathetic because disabled and family rejects her, saves the holy light flame or whatever as child, nostalgia for being lothar, this.... this is someone's self insert OC!
Faerin makes references to "a family that saw me as a failure", and having stowed away to escape them, but also didn't seem upset about them when talking about them in the voice acted part where you make note of her last name. Does this mean that she is adopted? Or just... having moved on from a painful past and now is fine with talking about it (and so implying that the Lothar family was not good people?) For a story that has so much war, there is a shocking lack of orphans in it, so it would be interesting to take on that subject at least once.
I kinda like this cause it feels healthy somewhat , sometimes with family you needa separate to grow and sure you have your spouts but can still have fond memories on your journey to grow
Anduin sacrificing himself so others can escape seems like a move he makes to assuage the guilt and shame he feels for what he did under the Jailor’s control. When I was at my worst mentally I made myself into an insatiable people pleaser; if I made sure that everything I did was “perfect” and “good” and everyone was always happy with me then the times when I “wasn’t” (i.e., when I would experience panic attacks/depressive episodes/etc) then I would be worthy of help, because if I was always a burden to those around me then I wouldn’t be deserving of grace or compassion. I wonder if Anduin feels the same way. I know it’s a sure fire way to burn out really fast
I think a time skip was mentioned before. They said after the events of shadowlands they had a few years of peace, without world ending events to worry about, until the start of dragonflight
10 year time skip? Bruh if my character was 18 in 2008 he’s 39 right now. And no character model looks that young. He’s giving saurfang a run for his money
The name "Anduin" is (out of game) Sindarin, a language Tolkien made up for LotR: Faerin would mean "crowned heart" in that language. So that's likely what Blizzard was going for. The word Faerie was borrowed from French into Middle English, so it never existed in Old English. However, if "Faeria" had been an Old English name then "Faerin" would be the dative form: meaning "to or from Faeria", that is, Faeryland. That old dative ending does still get used for some toponyms which is probably why your brain landed on it. So, you did make it up but you were obeying the rules of a half-remembered language. Tolkien of course knew his Old English and wasn't above a little copy-paste, so he probably landed on the same neologism and then decided to cheekily put it into the language he was making.
Faerin Lothar? So are they gonna explain how she works into Lothar's legacy, in terms of race? Because Anduin Lothar was milk white, as was Thoradin Lothar. If you want to have more diverse characters thats fine but you have to make it make sense.
She does have elven ears. We also have no idea where in the line of Lothars she exists. Maybe it's just a name. Maybe it's for flavor. We actually don't know. I'm OK with her appearance. I just hope it makes sense and I'm reserving judgment until then
I love how, out of all the magical bullshit in wow PLUS her being a half elf, you are concerned about how her skin is different from a very distant relative… easily explainable by a 4th grade bio class… Black people don’t need a reason to exist, especially in a fantasy game 😂
You said Legion is Year 32 and WW is Year 42. It would be amazing a Year by Year chronology on Wow since Classic video. Do you have any of the sort? Some sort of recap: Like, Year 1 was "this" and Year 2 was "that".. and so on.
Xalatath is a purple female playing 6d chess in the background. You can't even understand her strategies until she blows up an entire city and all the children in the city burn alive. Xalatath exercises complete independence by serving Demensius, but in the end she'll never server
Theory: I mentioned in the past the Idea that the Crystal could have served a similar purpose as the Old Gods. That is was sent by the forces of the light to "infect" and manipulate the nascent World Soul of Azeroth. With that in mind it could be possible thatAzeroth itself drew upon the energy of the Crystal in order to survive Sageras last attack. The energy thus drained could cause the Crystal to darken similar to the early stages of a Naarus demise.

@@Zoniex well hopefully he takes your advice and goes outside. That will fix his opinion I’m sure. When he goes outside, he is supposed to touch grass correct? That’s normally how these extremely civilized internet chats go. Just checking.
I'm not scared Anduin's going to end up straight married. I'm scared he'll end up straight married and it won't be to my rogue, who is the worst woman in the world.
Tbh do you really think people wouldnt be full on giga racist if she was loud and girlbossy and pushing everyone around more than they already are , im greatful shes taking it very very slow atm and is just there to help guide players and not really overtake the story
Again Anduin is captured. How lame to repeat the story from Shadowlands. We had a lose in Shadowlands when the Jailer beat us and went to Zereth Mortis, so I wouldn't like to see that repeat either. It is nice to see plans upon plans and unveil each layer one at a time. Looking forward to seeing how everything unfolds.
wow got the most interesting fantasy version of humans ive ever seen even tho at the end of the day the cool lore doesn't stop them from being lame asf
Her not accepting a prosthetic arm is just selfish and foolish. If her conern were her people and the safety of others she should want to be able to perform her duties as best she can, and her best would be better with both arms, objectively. It's not even a question, you already see that she requires special technology to make her shield operate comfortably, for it to work at all in the first place, and every effort at improving that instead of just getting the arm amounts to efforts not spent elsewhere, amounts to her demanding accommodations for a deficiency she could fix but doesn't, means she cares more about being a strong independent women who don't need no prosthetic more than she does the safety and prosperity of kith and kin. But of course having a prosthetic might cut into her diversity score, so better to just leave that little assassination of character in, never touch upon it and hope nobody notices.
@@mittensfastpaw Criticizing a fictional character as it relates to the current mores of the every-hungry corporate machine is not racism, in fact you viewing it as such is exactly why they do such things as this; you are literally free interference for them, a vessel animated by personal outrage that will perform the labor of defending their work from critique by decrying it thus. And you are part of the reason the quality of entertainment in general has so steeply declined of late.
Totally agree with you she’s really a very bad character and all of those quality is not making her a badass wahaman it actually make me hate her even further beside being forced charcater than she is...I was having high hope with mitten so wtf is this? Ok. I had to pause half-way through the video to just say that I am now very interested in Faerin. Solely because she seems to be the very first good representation of a disabled person. Which means a lot to me due to the fact that I happen to have a physical disability of my own.
@@Sbrick521 You really are pressed they impressed someone who has every right to criticize the rep ? Didnt you guys say this is fine as long as its written good??
As someone who spends a lot of time with amputees a lot since I deal in specialty sporting equipment, I can tell you I don't know a single one who would turn down someone trying to give them a prosthetic that functions identically to the original. She seems to be written by one of those weirdos that romanticise disabilities, because a disability is like aging no one wants it and if they could they would reverse it.
@@Nagria2112 yea, I'm hoping it's like we get 1-2 zones this expansion them the next two are set there and expand it. But its gonna just be an island we missed again.
One thing Warhammer does is that it takes place over decades or even centuries of time. So when things do happen events are so far apart that they can happen without much in the way of restraint. And instead of having major lore characters run around and do stuff you can just make up on the spot that are pretty much par for par the same person without needing much in the way of the originals baggage.
I find warhammer to be even weaker as the Choas dogs arent just playing with their food, they have x7 time the advantage but are always losing running away like a shitty superhero villian. Too much britcrap and not enough satisfaction.
Disabled black trans lesbian was a joke couple of years back and here we are now. The design (which WoW usually has nailed) is horrible too - everything from the hair to armor that doesn't fit into universe at all. And the blatant bait calling her Lothar, but saying 'ah see, it is different Lothar - totally unrelated'. And the fans being afraid to state honestly what they think about this disaster and instead going 'we don't know... maybe... we will see...' How did we get to this from W3?
You are 20 years late, how is it this is a problem and not the plethora of issues dating even back to Wrath making the lich king a mustach twirling villain , yall racists are so unimaginative , boring , and clearly moronic because shes not trans/lesbian at all, you literally SAW a model and assumed a bunch of shit that checkmarks you for a agenda injected idiot

@@alessandroseverino8222 She doesnt really girlboss in the story though and never insults anyone in bad faith thats established, also when is it acceptable then to make a black women as a character then if the same devs arnt the same people who were ever involved in that sort of stuff ? Isnt usually designing characters you want the to stand out ? Anduin is older and reflects that and it draws attention , same with Thrall getting new models usually , shes also new so nostalgia wouldnt be a factor just shes a descendant of a lothar, we also seen a lothar in 2016 be darkskin so its not super new that they would marry one to have mix skinned decedents , her backstory is she was attacked by a monster lost her arm and got scared for it , so she attached her shield as a limb which is kinda cool and fits the fantasy setting no ? Shes just a paladin and a guide for the zone! I just think shes cool and from Nobbels pov who was disappointed in things last expac being excited seems like a good indicator too !
I hate to break it to you, bud, but the majority of the real world is part immigrant and that you'd have to be looking for a needle in a haystack to find anyone truly "pureblooded". If humans weren't interbreeding to keep wealth and land in their names, they were migrating (or pillaging) to survive. Those who didn't assimilate into other cultures died out. Even the English, who are rumored to be the predominant colonizers, were once ruled under the French, and the English has never forgiven them for that fact. The Irish, for example, have been having relations with various other ethnicities for centuries, and its how they functionally managed to survive, since they suffered from both the potato famine as well as religiously inspired genocide that nearly depopulated them. That's before you get into the science behind the simple fact that it'd be genetic suicide to try to stick to a single ethnicity, since the genetic pool the offspring has available to them to help pass on genetic code that's capable of surviving infancy from the likes of genetic disorders and immunities to certain diseases would become scarce. Furthermore, Nobbel states that its highly likely, based on the speculation hints we've gotten, that this woman belongs to another human empire across the seas, and thus, her skin colour can be absolutely anything the artists want it to be. Its also been stated, repeatedly, that Anduin simply shares a name that was inspired by their ancestors, but his actual relations aren't fully known. Before proclaiming something as "woke", you must first educate yourself to recognize it. I hate toothless "representation", and the ways in which the everyday person gets treated like museum exhibitions for white CEOs of America, as pieces to be displayed to show how "moral" one is, but even I can see that this character isn't like that, right up to the fact that her shoulder shield is a direct reference from medieval history, if you want some bonus historical lore.

Honestly I find humans, elves and dwarves the most boring fantasy races that exist in fantasy realms. So what we’ve seen so far in the expansion looks sterilized boring to me.
I think humans can be interesting if their clans and group do cool stuff or like gigachad fighters. Elves... are elves... they got to be the most stock race. Lile you say elf and you already know what they are. I like the Dwarves from wow but that just me.
Why are you hanging out with anduin You're nobody in wow why does Blizzard have to give you this power fantasy it makes me so angry It's such a disconnect from the people who play this game this is MMO not you being champion of Azeroth
We've been the champion since Wrath. At this stage in my life, I agree our characters should be nobodies and not chumming around with major characters, but that genie has long since been let out of the bottle
