Most of the sounds sound like they're a mix of half-life and halo and so does the hud

The demo looks like they already had the physics and effects working but they needed to write the story, make triggers and stage designs, etc.

That little enhancement made me thought that there was still a build out there.

That interface looks pretty dope I’d like to have it in a future halo wars with the 3rd person effect to keep the Halo wars style intact (like how your still floating 3rd person above the sky like in a normal game) I’d play the fuck out of that!

I really can't wait to see the contents of this build when it gets released. This along with the Halo Wars Alpha are among my favorite of the early prototype/beta/alpha versions of the other halo games. The Halo 1 mac version though might be most interesting to see simply because of how much there would be to uncover and how much changed between that build and retail.

If it releases, you know somebody is going to work to re-tool the game to be completely functional.

Can’t wait for these sounds to be leaked someday so we can use em for halo mods & use em outside out of halo too

I'm happy to see this! I do remember one of the PC gamer disc that had one of these demos. I though it was a completely different game, then Halo came out on Xbox, Master chief just reminded me of that demo we had. His face shield on the demo was wider and for some reason... I recall him having a face too. Been trying to find that game for ages and apparently, this prototype of the game looks very very familiar. That's the wide face shield I recall, that's the open world quality. The UI is very familiar too. So this has to be it?

You know, that footage really felt a lot like Oni. Now I'm not sure if it used the same engine as Halo but I really wouldn't be surprised if it did.

Publicly releasing the classic 3P builds of Halo would be a monumental and, dare I say, _iconic_ event for the Halo community. I'm so interested to see what it would look like, and who knows? Maybe someone out there could have the hubris to remod the entire CE campaign into this build. (Frankly though I doubt anyone has _that_ level of ambition, lol)
