The 5.1 surround sound test featuring a Grunt and a Hunter from the Halo 2 Limted Edition for the original Xbox. Some small editing done to really bring out the color. Halo 2 released to the public on November 9th, 2004.
this could work as a sitcom. the grunt as the most goofy and least serious. he's always talking. kinda like michaelangelo from the tmnt. the jackal as the most angry, always annoying the others for any decision or mistake they make. kinda like rocket from gotg or rigby from regular show. the elite as the leader and protagonist. the most serious and mature of the group, he always takes care of the other three, but also really emotional. there's a lot of characters who fit into this, like mordecai. the hunter as the kind giant. intimidating, but really calm and innocent. he doesn't talk to much. kinda like hector from tawog, groot from gotg or the iron giant.
I never thought about it, but yeah, now I’m wondering that too. It could’ve been in the Extras tab in the MCC. Blur could have easily done it since they did the rest of the cutscenes for Halo 2 Anniversary.
Which is why I love the CE grunt voice lines i adore them so much. I always mimick there voice lines when I fight against them and the covenant,i even help the grunts fight against the flood no matter if they are my enemies.
This is my first time ever seeing this, but I remember a friend describing this to me when I was in elementary school and being confused. It's absolutely surreal to actually see it all these years later.
I was in kindergarten or just starting elementary school when I saw this video, and being Japanese, there was no way I could understand English, so I just enjoyed it as a short comedy. Now that I am an adult, I understand that it is a video for surround sound testing.
I never had the multiplayer disc, but I had and still have the Limited Edition copy of Halo 2 with the DVD this was a part of. It’s a little dented but not rusty like a lot of them seem to be nowadays. If there was a Legendary Edition, I definitely would’ve bought it.
@@Wally17. There's a old style video game store to around me that constantly has the silver Box legendary edition but usually either the manual is missing or its dented or slightly cracked. I still own my original copy of Halo 2 on xbox and it's in pretty good condition considering everything it's been through the last 16 years. It doesn't ever stop or jutter it works perfectly fine but I'm always afraid to bring it out and it die
I can't believe I'm using this 16 year old surround sound test to see if my headphones are working properly. And guess what...the test works! Thanks Marty! ♥
@@Wally17. Agreed... Pressing 4 repeatedly, WILL make sure about what is Left and Right For headphones easily.. A "tong" will be heard for Right Ear and and "Speaker on that side" for Left Ear. People have 1 minute LR Testing but this solves in less than 30 Secs...
My favorite episode was when the grunt had his elite boss over for dinner and the hunter had to cook the food but he couldn’t use any of the kitchen utensils because he doesn’t have hands, so they order a pizza and the pizza delivery man is a brute and so he doesn’t get along with the elite and then master chief has that guest appearance at the end. Classic
As more leckgolo (the worms that form an hunter) intertwine, they get 'smarter' as a colony. They can understand and express emotions on a very, very basic level. They just don't speak since they lack vocal cords and mouthflaps to do sylabes. Their laugh and grunts is just air pockets they absorve and release by tightening and expelling, making those very gutural sounds
They lack vocal cords, but as a colony they are 'smarter' than individual leckgolos (the worms thst form the Hunter). Soooo they know and express very basic emotions. About how they laugh, well, they can 'breathe' air and simultaneously contract, to expell it by a tight orifice they colectively form to allow their sorta gutural grunts and growls come out. Then is just working together as a colony to make it sound like something.
I actually do use this as a surround sound test. Never fails to work for me. Edit: Two years later and I got me new earphones cause my old ones finally died. Works great
I definitely do. I really remember doing this for Halo 3 and getting up before school so I could download and check out the new maps as soon as they released. I was actually pretty excited to get them. Those were the days.
Lol well that is why Bungie made it. It was a part of the bonus DVD that came with the Limited Edition of the game. The original Xbox has the option for 5.1 surround sound through TOSLINK if you have a component cable with that connection, and Bungie made sure Halo 2 supported that feature. When I got a 5.1 setup, it was the first test I used.
@@Wally17. Now that you mention it, I do have an Xbox High Definition AV Pack and a digital optical cable for Dolby 5.1. It can also be found on the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack disc.
i can't believe i found this i haven't seen this in years i can't remember where i first saw this i know it wasn't on RU-vid anyone know where this is originally from
I think the uploader compressed this into stereo, because the "speaker on that side" at 0:16 sounds the same as "speaker behind you over there" at 0:21. Also, there is no low-frequency response from the Hunter.
