The initial strike on Earth wasn't an invasion, they had no clue they were going to the Human homeworld. The Covenant were there because they were looking for a Forerunner artifact, the Ark, which actually turned out to be a portal to the Ark.

Playing the original Halo 2 on my 360 and loving it. Also reading The Fall of Reach, a book every Halo fan must try.

Love these videos, definitely want to see more Halo and video game stories in general. Really helpful and awesome, to quickly get in to games or recap yourself before going into new installations. I would like to point out though that the Covenant, or rather the Prophet Regret, stumbled upon Earth by mistake, simply following his latest clue for the location of the Ark. That's why his fleet was only 1/50th the size of the one that attacked Reach*. The Covenants now discovery of Earth made humans desperate in the war, because their window before the entire armada showed up had shrunk significantly.

It ended on such a cliffhanger I had to double check that I beat the game.

I don't get why the game starts with an invasion of earth because in combat evolved chief was supposed to protect cortana so the covenant couldn't find its location

Too fast, keep having to rewind to figure out who's where

I'm trying to beat halo2 on Legendary mode and solo. Not. Easy. At. All The biggest issue is that the updated graphics don't always line up with the original's. Sometimes I think I'm hidden but I'm not. Or I'll be trying to shoot around a edge only to hit a invisible wall. Switching to classic mode shows why. I'm currently near the end of the Gravemind level. The start of that level is absolute torture. The key is to hide behind one of the 2 banisters with a Carbine and Needler. The carbine is to take out the grunts in one shot. And the needler is for the Brutes. However, only take one brute out. The other will charge, and this is what you want. Carefully have him chase you around as you gather supplies. When ready, jump onto one of the short structures near a banister. Crouch and just hit him til he drops. THEN immediately run behind the banister for cover for 2 more brutes and 4 grunts will come out of the nearby side doors. Repeat this pricess 4 times. Yes, I said FOUR TIMES. Once done, Jackals will come out of the main door. Quickly take them out with either with a grenade or the carbine. Now Breath. You've still got a long and slow road ahead KEEP a Carbine with you as much as possible. Ignore the Plasma Pistol fir it's not your friend on this level. And when tge Elites are fighting the Brutes, take out the Hunters with easy sniper shots to their backs. Or use the FuelRod gun on tgem, after their little fight.

Wait why my memories about this game is different? I remember halo 2 story is alot cooler than this, i remember that halo 2 is a story about halo world and a robot world is combine to each other into 1 world, and the halo people is trying to find the answer what's happening, and though all the robot is bad, but there is 1 robot is joining halo to help them understanding what is happening, and when it all ended and got the device to end this combine of 2 world, before we put the device to end all of this, we say goodbye for the last time to our robot friends and the 2 world is unmerge, and that's the story. And i'm remembered the player 2 is always changing after 4-5 story chapter, and the place is not always in space, sometimes we go to the haunted mansion, idk if this game i remembered is halo 2 anymore, can any you guys help me to find what is this game? Or the mandela effect is really happening to me?

You need to redo this video, 30 seconds into it and you are already wrong. did you really pay enough attention to be telling people a recap? The Covenant did not learn the Humans Homeworld Earths location and invaded it. it was mentioned blatantly multiple times in the game, in multiple cutscenes and gameplay, they didnt expect the planet to have human presence, let alone it being their homeworld, and only went there to find a forerunner structure. hence the small fleet the humans are confused with in the beginning
