@@KaisTheFireWarrior It doesn't help the Brutes that they tend to berserk and then melee the nearest target, which would probably be a high-ranking Elite with an Energy Sword who just destroys them. And there's an Elite with a Fuel Rod Gun. And Hunters. The battle was pretty stacked in the Elites' favor. Probably should have given them a Jackal sniper or two to compensate.
Fun fact: in the Italian version of Halo 2, they translated Cortana's line in the _opposite_ meaning. Instead of advising Chief to stay out of the infighting between Elites and Brutes, she says: " _Potresti cercare di riportare la calma_ ", which translates to "You could try to bring back some calm", basically telling Chief to jump into the fray.
Bailey Jones Sadly, it is confirmed: I've seen a streaming on twitch made by a friend of mine (who is reviewing it and has a press copy) and yes, they removed it. Can't imagine what the fuck they were thinking when they changed it...
I'm more willing to think it is a matter of copyright... but it is nonetheless retarded, they should have buy the right to use it. On the bright side, if you put the game in "2004 mode" the song is the right one! ;)
This music made that scene in the game legendary. When that door opens and Cortana tells you to sit this one out, and you watch the Brutes and elites tear into each other with this awesome song playing. Then the drones flying and the hunters stop out and its just a savage melee. It still gives me goosebumps. Excellent excellent design
I could imagine the humans, the Covenant, the Covenant Seperatists, the Sentinels, and the Flood all battling it out with this song playing in the background. With the Chief and The Arbiter just watching.
Cortana: "You might consider sitting this one out.." Me: "HA, bitch please, my Fuel Rod Cannon and Energy Sword still have tons of ammo that isn't going to waste itself."
Cortana: “You might want to sit this one out.” Us: “Yes but the song literally SAYS only the strongest will survive and I got this cool new energy sword….” Cortana: “…..fine, jump into the fray”
Naomi I dont know how many times I would restart to the checkpoint just so I could go back through killing everything feeling like a BA while listening to this song
it was awesome, I used to save every marine from the jail, and get them all to this part of the level. Walk in, watch them fight a bit, run over and activate the hunters, and then me and my marines would take out whatever came near us. It was glorious. I still loved the Halo 2 brutes, they could kill hunters in enrage mode. Saw 2 enraged brutes go against 2 hunters....the brutes won
Poly_G oh no, its just really hard. i have to restart constantly. if they get too far behind you at load points they dissapear, if you give them the wrong guns the die easier, and grenades and raging brutes are the bane of my existance fr this. I actually tried to do it again a few weeks back, and after like 20+ reverting to last checkpoint, I made it with 3, one fell to far behind and I didn't notice, and he dissapeared when it checkpointed.
Poly_G Just give them one of the many Needlers or Brute Plasma Rifles in it. The fact that NPCs have bottomless clips (or in the case of most Covie weapons, never overheat) means that they'll be able to shrug off enemies. Hell, give one of them a Brute Shot (I don't remember it being in 2 but Gus Sorola's stream of the game last week proved me wrong) and they'll probably be able to defend themselves from Hunters.
They fall in line One at a time Ready to play I can't see them anyway No time to lose We've got to move Steady your hand I am losing sight again Fire your guns Its time to run Blow me away I will stay unless I may After the fall We'll shake it off Show me the way Only the strongest will survive Lead me to heaven when we die I have a shadow on the wall I'll be the one to save us all There's nothing left So save your breath Lying and wait Caught inside this tidal wave You're covers blown No where to go Holding your fate Knowing that I will walk alone Fire your guns Its time to run Blow me away I will stay unless I may After the fall We'll shake it off Show me the way Only the strongest will survive Lead me to heaven when we die I have a shadow on the wall I'll be the one to save us all You wanted it back Only the strongest will survive Lead me to heaven when we die I have a shadow on the wall I'll be the one to save us all Save us all
Halo 2 was by far my favorite Halo, it had the best story, best gameplay and best soundtrack! I hope they release an Anniversary Edition this year like with Halo 1, who else agrees?
I thought OST had the best gameplay. Halo2 in Legendary had the enemies too vamped up. Early in production they wanted the game to be harder than CE with faaar more enemies. The game wouldn't be able to run with the amount of enemies, but the deadline was close. BUNGIE ended up taking out a lot of the enemies and making the remaining enemies harder and more accurate. I.E those devil Flood with the Rocket launchers and Jackal Snipers. HALO2 did have the best storytelling and second best music (in original) of all the Halo (BUNGIE) games.
Halo 2's gameplay was FAR from the best. The soundtrack and story were great (Halo 2 feels like a giant adventure compared to the other Halo games), but the gameplay had big issues. At least Halo 2 doesn't have snail bullets like Halo 3 and you could give allies powerful weapons.
'Look on the bright side, for now they appear to be more interested in killing each other'. *This Starts to Play, I find a Fuel Rod Cannon next to a dead Unggoy* Perfection...
I like how you can actually hear the choir in this song @ 1:25. It’s so much more noticeable when you don’t have the vocals or the chaos of the game blasting through the mix. 👌🏻
Arrowtonge you can always switch back to old graphics and listen to the music shich I like but yeah I dunno why they didnt just bring it over to the new one :,(
DarkETX Channel I think because they could not get back the guy who created the song since they broke up or something but you can always switch back and the new song is just as good of not better than this.
The one part of Halo 2: Anniversary Edition where I feel compelled to switch back to old-school graphics and audio... And this track is the reason why.
Isn't it weird how that happens? I played Borderlands right and the intro was a Cage the Elephant song and I gave them a listen and now I have all of their albums sitting next to my computer.... haha
Still remember when I first heard this song on gravemind. I was playing on legendary and jumping over the hunters' green cannon blasts at the same time while trying to snipe the ultra elites that kept moving in circles. Man, time sure files...
Did this on co-op yesterday with a friend. Died 100+ times on legendary. But this was worth every death ;) He said he felt badass everytime 1:01 played hahaha. Oh good times.
I remember when I played this level for the first time. It was me and my brother playing one night, and since this level took so long to get through we were exhausted by the time we got to the mausoleum. We heard the beginning, and we looked at each other, and just started ripping shit up. God, I miss 2004.
me too but i have to watch this on the pc cause i can't affored the xbox one till i get a job or christmas then i will get the halo master chief collection
yeah i might play the classic halo 2 for a while and when it comes out i will watch it on youtube and see how the graphic is and the game play looks like
@@ArtsyPuppy exactly, breaking the covenant is amazing as well. tbh, it felt more like a soundtrack made for DOOM and not for Halo. But still, it deserves a solid 10/10
A great song and when first playing Halo 2 I was surprised it was the music during a very cool part of the game. Made the experience of the game that much better.
hearing this song while your marines armed with Fuel rod cannons , plasma rifles fight and the aliens dying around you....too bad I was too young when this saga was born, thanks master chief collection
I'm almost tempted to get the X-box One just for that. Especially since I unknowingly worked up a nostalgia by me and a friend co-oping through the entire series.
Making it to the end of Gravemind while keeping your whole squad of Marines alive to lead them into the battle between the Brutes and Elites in the Mosoleum at the end is just peak Halo. Easily one of my favorite Halo moments to date.
I remember seeing hunters to the left, elites in the middle and brutes to the right. They all look at me then the music kicks in. Thanks Marty for putting this in here, I kicked so much ass in that room
Was playing some Destiny when a track sounded very reminiscent of the Halo series (Not this track, but one of the more intuitive mid-mission works), couldn't help but think "Wow, I need this song right now to complement this."
This song is so F ing epic that I will never get tired of hearing it! I just hope that they will still have this song in the same level in the Master Chief Collection, because I wan't to own some Covenant while listening to some killer tunes in high definition!
