Whats so beautiful about this is it brings a whole different perspective to the experience of mowing down enemies in a game. It's so simplistic and calm which is the opposite of the mood of jumping into the action stereotypically. That's ironically what makes it more powerful in terms of how it makes you feel. A beautiful marriage of majesty and chaos
This game didn't even need Multiplayer... The campaign was THAT replayable... My entire time owing Halo 2 I had no Xbox Live, and maybe two or three other games, tops.. Lol, but little did I know, Halo 2 wrecked every other game on Xbox Live too...
+Poly_G I'd vouch for for you man, it is honestly a great game, I played a lot of split screen, but also enough campaign to know how to get out of pretty much every level
This game is replayable to the point I still play it today.... 13 years later still enjoyable the only problem is I can't play oracle or high charity for some reason and those are my favorite levels. I do have to admit- this game was a pain in the ass on legendary.
I have never played or watched some one play Halo, but I have to say, it has some of the best music to listen to. Especially this. I have to thank you for an extended version :3
Halo 2, by far (with the first Halo tied) has the best soundtrack of the series, and nobody can ever sway me from that line of thought. You better fucking praise Marty O Donnell and Michael Salvatori, without them, you don't have masterpieces like Peril. You honestly CANNOT get any better than Halo's glory days. You can't. The games that come out now, even the current Halo installments of today, can't ever touch live up to that kind of legacy, and certainly can't match that level of quality, not exactly. And no, this isn't just me being biased - I TRULY believe that, because Halo was made with a high degree of passion and creativity. Old Bungie treated the first three Halo games like a passion project, it wasn't just a damn job like how 343 seemed to see Halo when they made and sent in that abysmal Halo 5 in the half assed, rushed, personality-less, boring state that it will always be left in, no matter how many years pass it's way (I'm not including Halo 4 in the mix - unlike Halo 5, 343 actually gave a shit about the characters and story written for it, which was really amazing in my opinion, even though the gameplay wasn't too up to par, and the campaign was a bit too short for my liking and not as engaging or as fun or as charming as the first three games...it has its redeeming qualities as a sequel and as a game). I said what I said. I stick to ALL of it.
Eveeyone always says ODST for best, but for me it's 2. Nearly every sing is a banger. Heretic Hero has been my all time favorite Halo song since I first played it.
in my opinion reach was a great game but reach was the first halo game that i think was worse than the previous one so thats where i think it started to go wrong
They didn't sell it or anything. They quite literally 'finished' the franchise with Halo reach. They had no intention of continuing Halo. With them being pissed about Halo wars, them not renewing their intellectual rights to everything Halo and some bullshit contracting loopholes Microsoft pulled like what they did with so many other series like project Gotham racing that literally gave them the rights to Halo after their copyright ended. Microsoft wasn't going to just drop their most lucrative franchise like bungie does for artistic integrity. That's why 434 industries is making Halo now.
And then Destiny, they had to basically save BOTH games later down the line from certain doom cause they released either mediocre or pisspoor *Destiny 2 aherm*
Thx for uploading this. Me and my brother would play the campaign level to this song but i dont remenr what it was called. it was the begining of the level "Regret" and me and my brother would get ghosts and skip through the map and drie thro big hills. O the memories
I've never even played this game (i was born in 2009 and the latest one i have played was halo 3, although i played halo 1 on the og xbox) and i still love this music
This may be the greatest video game soundtrack of all time. unbelievable how awesome this is. 343 please hire Marty or at least someone with a musical vision like Marty. The new halo soundtracks are horrible compared to marty's work !! Please we are begging you 343
This... honestly wouldn't sound out of place in an Advance Wars game. Yeah, switch out the live instrumentation for GBA MIDI-instruments and I'd say you have a solid candidate for Chief's CO theme!
