Ah glitching out of maps in Halo 2 was so much fun. Remember keeping custom games running for hours of people just coming in and leaving glitching out and exploring in lobbies as big as 16 players at a time all on open comms. Good times

A secret thing you guy may don’t know in Halo 1 swamp map. Before you enter the building in the beginning of the game, there is a place you can get on the edge of map. When you’ve climbed on that place, turn right and turn off the light( for who want some horror thing) and go for some minutes. You may found a idle marine out there and if you keep going you may found many body of The Flood( i don’t remember what are they) lying around

The original way we go out there, iirc, was sword canceling around where the tree roots are on the map. There was a way to force your way past the invisible barrier from there. I'd love to see you tackle some of the old tricks that no longer work like sword canceling and especially sniper lunging. Show the old school ways of getting out of maps and exploring big areas like outside Headlong.

Outside timberland on Halo CE there is another secret message. I'm pretty sure its initials and a date but I never looked into it so it may mean something else.

They're probably dissing their own work, "Yo, I don't have time to finish my work on the outside of this map, let's crank up the fog and leave a complaint here, time to crank up a new map, let's get paid". The davinchi code cubes an spheres are usually machines but, is it because the game renders level editor entities, or these are the models applied to things that do not have a model and they get the texture of things that are missing their texture (Like GoldSRC, Source and Source 2 Engine big red errors and purple checker boards)?

This could be a message send to those who liked to go out bounds in the first game, Halo CE. Like Blood Gulch, where when going the top of the map theres nothing than just empty area. And other maps where they tried to go outside, its just an dissapoinment for them in this one!

I'm pretty sure it's probably a little joke about how unfinished or, well, nonexistent everything looks outside the map's geometry cause, well, there's no real need to make anything to go outside the boundaries of the map that the player can see. So it's an easter egg meant for anyone clipping out of the map or hacking their way out, basically joking like "What? You expected to find something here?"

That's almost certainly from one developer to another developer. It's a very common practice, they're basically saying "hey, fix this" and doing so by writing a big glaring note on them; the intention of this is that they're going to have to remove the note, so they need to work on whatever it's referring to. There's a ton of these all over games, and sometimes developers actually change default textures to something like "I suck at making maps" so it's very obvious that something is wrong. It happens all over the place, and was likely not supposed to be something that shipped with Halo 2.

Backwash is one of the most fun multiplayer maps for most game modes. It's a shame it never got remade or brought back in future Halos. No one even bothered to forge a remake.

Just looks like text they forgot in development. They probably wrote it as a reminder to work on making the outer edge of the map look more filled less empty. Mainly was fixed with adding fog

Just watch as it turns out to be a work in progress message while they built the map, just saying "it's a little rough out here" as a big note to work on it.
