@@GeoCrockerPot that armor was an insane grind that required you to have a giant Spartan squad. At least with these you actually did fun challenges not just grind through endless multiplayer matches
DeadSpryspade11 littlehaloman [roblox :D]H2 they were one of the first to do dlc and they ACTUALLY developed it AFTER release had a team hired just to work on it. that's how dlc should be, not just a cash cow that you can only release peices of original game at a time

I almost finished the original Endure achievement. My friend was the last one left, was out of ammo, and there was one brute left with no shields. He went to punch it, and it punched first. He was forever an outcast to us from then onwards.
I remember, years ago, my cousins and I and our friend did this challenge all the way through. Earning the recon armor is one of the highlights of my entire time playing videos games, it’s something I’m quite proud of as a gamer. Halo 3 was absolutely magnificent and this challenge was so amazing cuz you actually EARN the armor, you didn’t buy it. I had the best group of friends all those years ago on halo 3 and now here I am in 2020, I was only 8 back then and now I’m almost 20, I have no idea where my old friends are these days but I’ll never forget them.

No. i was the first ever to get it in middle east. i was refreshin the bungie page every 3 mintues. and suddleny it says UNLOCK RECON and i did. i was refreshin for about 2 days
Nobody seems to realize this, so I'll say it. When Bungie left Halo, the Halo things on their site were gone (except for outdated service records.) Therefore, it was impossible to get because for some reason they couldn't just move the stuff to waypoint. So, they had to give it out.
Rolin the Molin I get it but they should have just linked it to an achievement requirement of all 7 then, of course I'm speaking as someone who still doesn't have all 7 and refuses to wear it until I've unlocked the all.
I put alot of time into getting all of the vidmasters unlocked and all that time was wasted when 343 unlcoked it for everyone. I'm one of the few people who unlocked it the way Bungie wanted people to get it.
Same here, I hate that they just gave it away like that. But since Bungie.net wasn't being updated for halo 3 anymore it made it impossible for those who hadn't earned it yet to go on there and unlock it when they did get the achievements so I guess I understand that decision.
MikeyGaming Same, the challenges were hell on earth, but I managed to finish all of them and thus finally earn the armor, and it was also good to watch the noobs bow down before me.
343 should make a new "Road to Recon" video. I can see it now... "Okay, so, Jeff thought of this one." Jeff: "Okay, so this is how you have to unlock Recon, first you have to go onto Halo 3, go to your armory and then cycle through the options to get to Recon. Now I know this sounds difficult, but if your willing to put the time and effort into it, then I think you'll be happy with the results."
12 years later, I'm in a discord chat with a few thousand Halo completionist dudes, and I am now finishing my own completion of the vidmaster achievements... the community never ceases to amaze me, Halo 3 is still going strong with its multiplayer, well done Bungie
Playing with all the boys trying to unlock all the vidmaster challenges back in 2009 was some of the most fun I've ever had playing video games. Nothing like this will ever happen again.
Am I the only that was happy that they changed Endure's description. I mean, beating ODST Firefight on Heroic to the 5th set is a challenge. But making it to the 7th set in Legendary is insane, ridiculous, sadistic and rage quitting! I'm happy that they did change it to the Heroic setting.
I never had Xbox back then, but looking at these videos makes me wish I could go back in time and experience it. Look at these videos you can tell Bungie really were honest with their fans. You can also tell Bungie actually enjoyed making games unlike all these modern money driven soulless clones.

I remember finding radom people to get endure the first time we got close our networks crashed and we have to restart all the way over because everyones internet sucked back then. It was amazing though when it finally happened. Remember there was no matchmaking for firefight back then. What a time what a memory !
Thankfully after Halo 3 was ported to PC, I was able to get flames on my Recon helmet for the first time since Bungie Day 2010. I can die happy now lol.
I remember getting a group together for the final mission and failing everytime on the Ghosts during the ending segment Bless RU-vid for allowing me to witness this video. In the year of our Lord 2019.
Please implement a Road to Recon style achievement journey for Halo: Infinite. The Achilles armour grind requires too many moving parts. I believe that having 4 friends achieve something together makes it more desirable and personally achievable.
Oh by Thor! Just thinking back to those good ol' days makes my nostalgia feelings go to overdrive! Damn do I wish I could travel back through time and re-live those golden years.
When I heard there was a way to finally get Recon, I dropped everything I did and started grinding. It took so long to get people to join me in finishing Annual, but as we finished it I felt so much pride in finally achieving it. I still rock Recon in all my MCC Spartans and will when Infinite comes out. I know I earned tf out of my Recon and I will always wear it proud.
Holy shit me and my friends worked hours to get fucking recon and as soon as we heard that those pieces of shit at 343 gave it to everyone we were so fucking enraged. I don't care if this game is old i missed when we strolled into a matchmaking lobby and everyone freaked out when they saw our armor. Now every little noob is strollin' around smudging the greatness of recon.

My memories of this were never getting Recon because of the 4th Set on Heroic achievement. It roughly took two hours to reach that far when playing with a team. My internet was prone to turning off every two hours on the dot, so we had to start it up and rush it as fast as possible. Every time we got close, my internet died.
I remember finally getting recon a few months before they released it to everyone for free. I never felt prouder of myself for doing all the vidmaster challenges and seeing the armor in my inventory for the first time. I will never get that kind of feeling ever again and it makes me depressed as hell :(
Personally, I think it was a nice touch for putting in the Rock Anthem "For Saving the World" in there when you get to the mongeese and the "unlimited" rockets. Brings back memories...
I still remember me and the hunter as the last two entities standing on the field for the endure challenge, no lives left for my buddies. just me an a hunter. So I decided to deal with him like a true vidmaster using only hand to hand combat.
I liked the 1000 AMMO Rocketlauncher :D. I like the way Bungie creates games. They always hide something special you'll find and say: "WOAR"(like the scarabgun from halo2), or other just interesting things(like giant soccerball ;) )
You already gave me Recon back on the 7th (It seems you really love us when we give up a whole 24hrs of our time searching for you guys. By the way, I wanted to ask Luke this personally back on Bungie Day, but I never encountered any of you guys, so... he owes me 128 steak dinners, and I haven't seen a single one yet. So I'm wondering, when am I gonna get my steak dinners?). I just finished the Road for the fun. And the Gamerscore too. But Endure, PLEASE DO NOT repeat that one for Reach.
Still can't get endure- we allways get stuck w/ at least one person who sucks or screws around. I always thought Recon looked sweet but unlike most ppl I knew the only thing "cool" about it was having Bungie reward it to you for doing something truly exceptional orhelping out the Bungie community.
