To this day I still think ODST lighting is amazing. I think the lighting really shows because it's actually pretty dark. Most games night means it's still very bright.

I really wish they could've implemented rain. I mean, we saw rain in a couple of Halo 3 levels, so surely it was somehow possible.

Not in an environment of that size on that engine. There was just to much going on both technically and artistically in the city.

***** Except the city was split into segments; those large doors are loading doors, to section off the city. They could've made it rain only in the segment the player was in, or even simply made it rain only in a certain radius around the player; this creates a certain 'fake depth' that makes it look like it's raining everywhere. As much flack as Minecraft gets, it's one such example of this method: in the game, there is only a single-line-thick circle around the player where it rains; but in first person, it looks like it's raining everywhere.

I still come back and watch, and it makes me feel like I’m 13yrs old again watching these videos and trailers on my iPod touch waiting for this game to come out. Playing halo 3 multiplayer with my buddies from school. I would give anything to go back

The only thing that i didn't like about this game, is that the silenced weapons kinda.....didn't help, lol. Doesn't matter how far a brute was away, he just always heard me shoot those little grunts. Like, what's the point of adding a silenced weapon arsenal? But i gotta admit it had a pretty cool feeling.

Preserving night vision by minimizing muzzle flare and reducing sound to less obnoxious, below ear-damaging levels. Silencers don't actually silence weapons.

I like how Joseph Staten, and a small team at Bungie, were just given the creative freedom to create an entirely new Halo experience, with essentially no corporate micro-management or restriction. If I were working at Bungie, I would have loved to have been part of that team and project.

I always love watching these video because its filled with people who actually understand how great and different ODST was. Bungie took a risk, and suffered because of it, but I love this game so much.

The visor mode is a low light vision mode so yes kinda like night vision, it also highlights targets, enemies with a red outline, and friendly's with a green. The visor mode is also a main part of the campaign to find the clues. The "blue tentacle thing" is called an enigineer, they cast an overshield over any nearby covenant, even each other. I believe they were in the books and I think in halo wars though they more robotic. btw 5 days left.

it really love what they did with the recoil in this game. first 10 or so shots on an smg are fine, and then it starts to climb. or pistol, if you shoot at a decent rate, it's fine, but as soon as you fire two shots in quick succession ur gun shifts around.

After all the trouble they went to give the game an unique feel, 343 is now adding the BR to Firefight. I hope it's just a toggle that you can turn off, because otherwise it's a huge disrespect to Bungie's work in balancing the other weapons.

In the excitement Bungie keeps forgetting to put forward the obvious, ODST was an expansion pack to the Halo 3 game. And pretty much followed the same formula of all expansions in the history of video games, short and sweet. But wow what a short and sweet ride it was.

I remember playing on Heroic with my friends in this game and when you are stuck inside a building with Brutes or hunters chasing you, the fear of not being able to see around the corner made me feel so vulnerable. It felt different but I wish they could have had time to expand the ODSTs in the universe. Even as the Chief there was always something cool about them and their black armor.

Firefight works out GREAT for me and my friends. We often charge through the Campaign and count out enemy head count. And I always liked that feeling of vulnerability in Halo 1. Halo 2 and 3 made me feel too strong. Going back to that feeling of taking cover and fighting with strategy will be nice.

If you go to Bungie's website you can download partial clips of the ODST soundtrack. It sounds amazing and I can't wait to feel the atmosphere it puts into the game.

I loved ODST, playing it with friends, getting lost in New Mombasa, earning those achievements, going for the Vidmasters and searching for all those audio logs. The epic music added that extra something to the gameplay and made it come alive. I like to just play about in it from time to time, but when you have 1000G out of 1000G for that game it does get a tad boring. But honestly, Halo 3: ODST is just full of epic win juice.

Are you asking how to preorder? you go on amazon or your nearest game stop to put down a deposit. Then when the release date comes you either get in in the mail or go back to the GameStop and pick up the disk. The advantage is that not only do you get to be among the first in your anime club to play the game, but that you also get to play as Sgt Johnson in the multi-player firefight game.

I think that part with the engineer is just going to be it checking out the tech in the ODST's armor and the soldier gets scared for no reason. It makes more sense to me than an engineer being hostile.

they're called "Engineers". In Campaign and firefight they give overshields to all enemies near it. shoot the underneath and pops like a ballon.

JaviHipi07 has a point , the weapons now do more damage than in halo 3 and this is basically an extension campaign and isnt really intentional to be played in PvP combat coz its squad based and making a multi-player would be great but the guys at Bungie are doing Halo Reach so ODST is good enough as it is

actually it was about a 6 hour campaign the ammount of time you were out sleeping in the pod and it was an amazing campaign. you prolly dont think so because your not into teh deep stories like most people. i think bungie did an amazing job on this game with the story making it deep and intertwined with the intels especially since it was something to fill in the blank parts from Halo2 to Halo 3

Thats the new (Well not really) covenant called the Engineer. They are usually just repairing things but these guys have been beefed up so they provide over shields to any covenant within distance and explode when dead. They were in the books and Halo Wars

Well you forget that Buck (their commander) knew that they were not going to be landing on Regret's ship. Which is why when Romeo picked up the shotgun and said that they were going to be in close quarters, Buck walked over, took the shotgun and gave Romeo the sniper. Buck and Dare knew that they were not going to land on Regret's ship, the rest of the team didn't.

Well, in the Bungie Pax panel they went over that... they didn't include the battle rifle because they ran out of space on the disk, they felt that they had split the functionality of the BR between the 2 new weapons, and because one of the leads never liked it anyway.

Well, I know they have achievements; one for not attacking any, the other for slaughtering a certain number of them. So I'm pretty sure they're non-threatening, but I've also heard that while they won't directly attack you, they provide overshields to nearby covenant.

Yep, Spelling was off, but you got the basic point, however some of the higher ranking brute chieftans were allowed few huragok, mainly for much needed ship repair. (brutes got the bottom of the barrel ships)

You should have guessed. The faces were modeled after those of the actors. (I played ODST and then watched some Firefly, and I thought "Holy cow, the captain looks just like Buck!")

Battle rifle was even already on Harvest. They just introduced it for the first time in halo 2. I personally think the BR will split up the balance, because most of the time you wield a shotgun or sniper or rocket etc. AND a BR

New mechanics like stealth, give allies orders, weapon attachments, tagging enemies, and anything else that can fit to an ODST than a Spartan.

That, my friend, is an Engineer. By nature, they aren't violent. They are more like scientists, knowledge-gatherers for the covenant. However, in this game, the Brutes strap bombs to them and force them to take on a suicide-bomber role.
