we added this LED light above our shower. it was a pretty simple process I hope you find it useful. we didn't add a new switch, we just tied into a existing light switch circuit. amzn.to/3Yuu35Q - halo lights
Just a couple things to improve upon. The yellow wire is 12awg and the white wire is 14awg wire unless it’s much older before color coding the wires. You should match the same size gauge wires. Also the pancake box you installed should have a Romex connector going into the box to prevent chafing of the wire. I’m not trolling just wanted to share the knowledge.
Looks awesome! I was surprised that you didn’t change out the older original bathroom light with a recessed led light to match the one in the shower for a more modern look.

Just sharing some knowledge here. Those pancake boxes are not meant to have any shared connections within them - meaning only one nonmetallic wire (romex) should enter the box and connect to a fixture. While the trade name is a junction box, according to the National Electric Code, you cannot have an incoming 12AWG line connecting to a fixture and then another line exiting the pancake to feed another 14AWG line. The proper use would have been if you just had the single bathroom light wired within the box. Each junction box has a max fill limit (meaning how many wires and what gauged wire can be used within it). If this had been inspected, it would have failed. They would have required a larger octagonal box to be used. If the larger box wouldn't fit where the exiting wire was coming through the ceiling, they would have required it to be moved elsewhere on the ceiling that the structure above it would have allowed for proper placement. Not trying to be a troll, but just sharing my knowledge in case anyone else runs into this. *edit* fixing spelling
Just pulled it down and it will come out. You can over come the springs if you pull down. May have to use a buddy knife or something to get it started.
wire the light? it just has two wires in the junction box. you just wire nut white wire to the white wire and the black to the black and hook up the ground wire to the green screw. thats the easy part
