This song starts appearing after 343 Guilty Spark mission. I think it sounds spookier than with the strings. Altough, I like it very much. :D Devils... Monsters... Martin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori Halo: Combat Evolved 2001
Alertness? Fear and anticipation? Library on legendary man and you ain't havin time for any of dat shit, you just run man. Library on legendary once. And never agai- Halo 2 Jackal Sniper: "Hello there!"
This variation of the Flood theme can be heard during Chief's first encounter with the Flood in "343 Guilty Spark", the fight with the Covenant and the Flood in "Two Betrayals" shortly before the full theme kicks in, and in the armory when a stealth Elite combat form appears in "The Maw".
This appeared shortly before the full theme kicks in after Chief defeats the first half of the Covenant fighting the Flood and a pair of Hunters attempting to shoot down Chief.
This song playes at the last section of two betrayals when you see 8 combat forms fighting one chade turret, a lot of grunts and jackals, a bunch of elites, a gold elite two hunters and two wraiths. And only me who keeps sniping the covenant with the sniper that i got from that tunnel.
I gotta love how lonely you get after 343 Guilty Spark mission, it goes like that for the rest of the game and your only friend turns out to be just Cortana.
I don't know, the only percussions version of this song is just so much more terrifying than the normal version. It's like, you are used to the normal version and then it's just the drumming. And i think this plays in the 8th mission, nearly at the end, where Flood and Covenant are on this large open field in the snow, in the darkness fighting each other, Covenant with extreme heavy weaponry like Wraith tanks, Air support through Banshees and the massive army of ground units not to mention Hunters, stealth Elites Grunts with Fuel Rod launchers... And then there's the Flood. Literally sweeping over the Covenant like a Flood (although the Covenant actually overthrows the Flood easily everytime, but whatever, it's the overall atmosphere i'm focusing my arguments on) And Chief has only Cortana, who cannot fight, so he's basically alone. The Player is alone. And you, as the Player aka Chief, have to get through all that shit. Somehow. ...Oh and then there's also the Library level which is this scene from level 8, but on Steroids and the amount of Flood is on steroids, and the Steroids in the Flood's bodies are on steroids, EVERYTHING is just on steroids and trying to feast on you, so even on lower difficulties this level is absolute horror, just like it should be. I love CE...
I'm tryna blast these little jellyfish zombie looking things that are all over the floors, walls, and ceilings Then my screen suddenly flashing red because I'm getting attacked from behind by these large tentacle zombies! 😦😦
