The full Halo E3 2000 Trailer from May of 2000 for Halo: Combat Evolved from back when Halo 1 was still in development. It wouldn't be released until over a year later in Nov, 2001. It shows off some more alien animals and I believe the smaller ones were going to be ridable.
How about that Master Chief. I can't imagine why they didn't keep that voice - lol. A lot was changed for the better in the following year.
At this point in time, Bungie was still an independent company making Halo: Combat Evolved as a third-person shooter action game to be released for both Mac and Windows. Bungie was then bought the following month by Microsoft to make Halo the launch title for its new Xbox.

The Spectre-looking vehicle at 5:35 is the original Shadow, which was dropped and brought back in Halo 2. They took the bulkiness and called it a Shadow, and took the turret and colour off, calling it a Spectre.

This for me is the nostalgia of the highest caliber. I remember watching this as a kid on a Demo CD on and on and on actually feeling bad cause at that time my pc couldn't run the game :) Love it

The red disc shaped thing at 5:30 is a very, very early version of the Shadow from Halo 2 (the long things that were in the highway tunnels)

Shame they took out the ability to use the sword. That arm shield the Red Elite used was cool too. I've always wondered why they don't use one in conjunction with their energy shields and swords.

there are other vids of this and it shows you some of the weapons that could have been in it. There were a lot of cool ones that were scrathced. the fuel rod gun and mauler were actually meant for this game

Check the description. The gauss hogs ended up being left out of Halo 1 (just like the animals and Master Chief's voice - lol), but then were later added to Halo 2.

At the time this was made, I believe bungie already turned it into a FPS because if it wasn't, it would not have been released in 2001 which is only a year later.

Does anyone remember the name of the song that included dialogue from this trailer? It included the lines "Warthog detached", "All clear, looks like nobody's ho... (zing) agh...", and ended with "Recon reporting, hostiles have been neutralised". The fact I can't remember its name is killing me.

Someone or anyone who see's this comment needs to do a remake of this awesome trailer for Combat Evolved ANNIVERSARY by using Halo Reach forge by making a map of the world they used in this trailer and of course get other people to play the elites and marines. And for the music they used for this trailer use the remastered version of this music from Anniversary. But just to warn people I'm not forcing anyone or someone to do this I just thought it'd be a great idea.

Well there were a lot of things that were taken out because of time restraints. Most of the weapons added in 2 and then 3 were supposed to be in Combat Evolved.

I assume you mean revenant. Actually, this was a vehicle from Halo 2 called the Specter , it was basically just the covenant version of a warthog. But yeah I can definitely see the similarities

@DarkKobra0202 Halo: CE was supposed to be on Mac only, then they decided to make an Xbox Exclusive, then they decided to make it on the PC in 2003, so it's a solid 2 years difference.

This is from when they were using their Myth engine, revamped for Halo. Once Microsoft bought them out, they had them rebuild their whole Halo engine from scratch - I remember following the devlogs because I was so excited for Halo. I was bummed it was coming out for a peasant system, and my brother and I decided after all the waiting we had to get the damn thing, which we subsequently sold after beating Halo.. I was so bummed that they built a run-of-the-mill BSP engine, instead of an open-terrain one like they had here, which was the whole reason I was so excited about Halo in the first place..

Indeed. I remember being 9 years old and watching the MacWorld '99 trailer when it was brand new. THIS version of Halo was going to be more like Tribes, with large maps and large player counts. The thing is, it probably would have faded into obscurity, unlike what we actually got.

Yes, in this History the Master Chief is a Robot, you can play only the Marines and in this demo is a Third Person Shooter Game. The Master Chief in the end of this version of Halo is an enemy, he's got crazy. And this game is for MAC.. but later Bungie has the good idea of change the history and MICROSOFT pay for bungie.

Great trailer! Even better than the E3 teaser trailer. In my opinion, Halo 1 was the best game of its time; it beat Halo 2's campaign by a longshot! The levels were just the right length, characters were great, storyline can't be beat, and the intro to the Flood was awsome!!! Halo 1 Rocks. End of story.

Why yes I have. I owned it for the Xbox and later got it on PC. It's a lackluster FPS when compared to it's PC competitors. The reason it scored so high was because it was revolutionary for consoles. Look at the PC scores and you'll see a different rating. Penny-Arcade's comics summed up the original Halo, I just wish Tycho hadn't "felt bad" about saying them and tried taking them back in the books.
