Halo has let everyone down once again as they failed to capitalize on the momentum built up by last week's episode, completely dropping the ball in Episode 5. Master Chief is not only not joining the fight against the covenant, but he's doing a full 540 and turning on the UNSC commanders, vowing to kill them. This show is so far off the reservation; whoever dreamt up these storylines out of the Halo universe must be truly deranged.
Will Kwan make a living off of Vannak's body? Is Master Chief permanently scarred from his past deployments? Will humanity make the same mistake it made the first time around with Harambe? Will anyone care that the show quietly introduced us to the Arbiter? Because the writers are hacks that never wanted to make Halo, but no one would buy their story. So, they took their story, their original characters, and gave it a Halo makeover.

I am still confused by what everybody saw that made them think anything was changing this season. Literally, name one single character, plot point, or storyline that was dropped, changed, or made in any way different than the first season. Thats why I keep telling people if this was any other SCI FI show it would be fine. It'd still have its own problems, but it would be alright. But by attaching the Halo name to it, you've now got expectations to fill, multiverse shenanigans or otherwise.

The "multiverse" has always been a way for lazy writers to rip off material with their own spin, or retcon things they don't like. It was introduced by Marvel when they realized their comics got too ridiculous and they needed to reset things without pissing off nerds. Copied by every other fantasy maker because it makes changing things easy. Halo absolutely should be using "multiverse" to justify shit writing

They also managed to kill 3 black characters (Vannik, the blind spartan washout, and Keyes) in one episode and then also make it so rizz isnt in the show any more. So in 3 episodes they got rid of 4 people of colour... not a nitpick, more of a wtf? lol

Also the arbiter never became the arbiter until start of halo 2 so are we seeing the arbiter successor from halo wars 2 an unknown arbiter before halo 2

I feel like even the cast hate the game cause to me the best acting of the whole series was in this episode, between John Halo and Rizz. Their goodbye actually made me cry, which is something that could happen even this was a show where they don't hate the original material. All of the crew and writers put out their best when it's not about the videogame, and when it is, they do it in the shittiest way possible.

Imagine thinking that Kai is stepping into Chief's shoes when she's an almost direct 1-1 replacement for Kurt-051 from official lore. And it's just so tragic that we are setting up early story elements for Chief to fight against the UNSC (an actual long-term plotline) ala what all of the Halo fan's were hoping for in Halo 5 once we go to Halo. The last episode is literally titled Halo and teased in the opener of every episode, and this clown thinks Chief is going to go there to fight the UNSC lmao

This is due to the propaganda that they install everywhere.......An act like in the game would probably leave too little room for behavior manipulation, so this crap is put in the foreground. People subconsciously copy the characters' behavior. Gays are placed there, even a blind gay albino, and these roles are then portrayed very well and lovingly. Women are portrayed as hard men etc....The character Quan is also propaganda nonsense. Her family "protects" the planet she lives on and the little girl is supposed to be some kind of elite soldier, etc.... It's ridiculous. You should be aware that it is not the case that they build a little propaganda into good series, but rather that they build a series around the propaganda.

I played the games and enjoyed them when they came out. I also enjoy the show and am glad for the fresh take. I honestly think it makes for better viewing to not know what to expect. If I wanted the storyline from the games then I can always go back and play the games. Some originality is a good thing and I would rather them not rehash the same game story into a TV series. Remember you don’t have to watch it if you don’t like it.

Many people were expecting the show to cover the books and the other stories not seen in the games. These books give the games way more context and lore to better understand and illustrate the overarching narrative. The point remains that this didn’t have to be named halo. It literally could have been called super space marine and we would’ve all accepted it. It’s literally trying to take an existing franchise and destroy it. The show isn’t even good either. It’s bad.
