my favorite part is how the arbiter is going back to high charity to tell them he failed to kill the demon AFTER HE LET HIM LIVE and GLASSED REACH. Like WHAT. Or was his mission the keystone? I forget what even happened in season 1. He secured cortana and then let the demon live and was like I have to tell the prophets of my failure.

The old lady calls Kwan "Protector of the planets" me eyes still rolled to this date

I'm fairly certain at this point that this script was originally for a sci-fi show about a young girl, chosen by some mystical space cosmos power to save the universe. The script was then repurposed by the people writing this Halo show. Why else would they completely sideline the original story about Reach and Halo to focus on some new character that's apparently chosen by the planets to be a protector... and then all the magical crap about Master Chief getting visions of Halo and the future... and then there's Soren and all the stuff about his family that's nowhere in the original Halo lore... and then there's the chosen human among the covenant who's meant to be some sort of main villain of the series... and the conflict within humanity and ONI that receives far more attention than the war against the covenant. Master Chief is more invested in fighting ONI than moving against the covenant at this point. He doesn't even have his suit! Apparently ONI wanted Reach to fall for some reason. What about the Cole protocol? That's nowhere to be found in this. I think the original script had Kwan as the main character, and then there would be a space pirate (Soren) and some super soldier gone rogue (Master Chief) who would go on a journey to save the universe from some alien empire that was threatening the balance of the cosmic magic or something like that. Finding ancient artifacts and fighting both the aliens and the oppressive human government who won't take the magic seriously. It was likely similar enough to a few core concepts of Halo (such as the fight against an alien empire and the discovery of ancient technology) that it was easy to repurpose the story. Yeah I'd rather believe this is a sloppy adaption of an excisting script than believe it was written as a Halo story that turned into shambles... Man what a mess it is. I didn't love season one but it had some good moments. At the very least a lot of potential for future seasons... Season two is so far a huge mess and the non-Halo elements are getting stronger every episode. It's baffling to me that a story that's literally called Halo, were the main events of several stories take place on the afformentioned Halo rings, have barely shown or mentioned Halo at all. In the span of nearly two seasons to boot! It's just some mystical place that few of the characters seem to care about. Again, this likely wasn't written as a Halo story to begin with.

What we wanted. A Sci fi show action show. What we got, a human drama. I did not want halo to be a human drama, who else agrees??

Keep in mind, this Arbiter is not the same Arbiter from the games. Var ‘Gatanai is the new Arbiter/Sangheili character so at least the Halo 2/3 Arbiter, Thel ‘Vadamee, isn’t put into this weird position with Makee in the TV show.

I woulda wanted either: Similar to the last of us tv series, the halo tv series respects its roots and follows the original story but adding its own flavor here and there. Or ODST whom became a Spartan 4. pov surviving the covenant war and now fighting the banished and the hardship the individual went through.

After waiting decades for a live action Halo TV series or movie, 'THIS' is what we get. Season one was bad enough, but this is just beyond insulting. It feels like STD and the Sequel Trilogy all over again.

Agree about episode 4 fall of reach, it was not good. The action wasn't the problem. The problem was they kept stopping the action to talk about their feelings.

Hi, TheDirtyCubeMan. I just discovered your channel. You've been hitting the nail on the head with regards to the Halo show. Like, it's one thing to veer from the source material, but to just replace it with shitty writing?? They had a literal treasure trove of source material with the books and games, and they gave us this. I feel like Dune and The Last of Us are perfect examples of successful adaptations that may deviate from the source material in certain ways, while still clearly giving the source material the love and respect that it duly deserves. This Halo show is just a bunch of producers and showrunners stroking their egos and deciding that they can make a better story on their own. It's very disappointing. Great video, sir. I know I’m late to answering this but the reason for the Human-Covenant War is that the Prophets(Truth, Mercy,and Regret) found out the human are the rightful inheritors(the Reclaimers) of all Forerunner(the “gods” they worship)technology and this put the very foundations and beliefs of the Covenant in jeopardy and proves the Great Journey is a lie and the Prophets would loose all power.

Near the end of the last episode I thought yeh there retconning the story killing off some Spartans, chiefs been injured maybe that explains why he’s on the pillar of autumn out of action……..Nope go to a complete random planet with NO pillar of autumn. Wtf, like a random civilian ship can land in the middle of a war zone invasion oh my god how embarrassing. And the arbiter the arbiter, if this is halo 2 arbiter that’s impossible so we presume it’s the arbiter before like halo wars 2 successor. Story makes no sense, generic sci fi story with some halo resemblance

I’m not sure if they know Arbitor wouldn’t have command, they are disgraced warriors sent in suicide missions. At this point I’m waiting on Kwan to unlock Ultra Instinct and Kamehameha wave the Halo ring herself. And Kai’s betrayal??? WTF is that!!!!!!!

well,, you see the arbiter is free to take makee around without having to follow fleet strategic troop movements, makee is free to go as she sees fit to meet her own separate objectives. Now, the master-chief and cortana are parked in the most fortified military compound on the planet, centrally located in the largest and most heavily fortified city on the planet. So, naturally, when the battle starts heating up , and it's clear the most valuable assets are in this compound, makee and the arbiter are going to go snooping around for the artifact. >> So how did laera find sorren? Well she probably assumed he, being a rogue spartan, was also in that compound, and probably already knew where it was, being as it would be one of the most famous compounds in the human colonies. You see, , we know where all of the big military bases are in our own countries, especially when we have military history of some kind, so it makes sense that so do they. Laera would have felt completely unhinged and reckless, and flown directly to the compound without rationalizing it,, just knowing that's where Sorren had to be. Also, they could have seen him standing at the edge of the open building multiple times and from quite far away using performance optics,, so if they were USING visual optics to find the right building in the city, and happened to look at it at about the right time to be where they were when they showed up ( figuring an approach time) they would have seen him standing there for sure.

I held on as long as I could…I tried to justify John’s attitude towards Cortana as “she’s new to him and he doesn’t want her around”. I tried to justify the helmet removal as some sort of fan gratification. Keye’s and Halsey’s intertwined mess do a relationship attempting to explain the father/mother dynamic to MC and the rest of the Spartans…but then Keye’s dies!? I tried to like this show, but it seemed to jump off the cliff this last episode. Absolutely terrible, horrendously boring episode. Not sure how/if they’ll be able to recover, but it would have to be the most epic comeback in history. Look how they massacred our boy.😢

The amount of positive comments on this season is fucking laughable. You can watch just the halo reach cutscenes and it’s still x10 better than this tv show. You get so much from those cutscenes without even having to play the game itself and it’s pathetic with how old that game is.

Where is Thel 'Vadam in the Halo TV series? He is the leader of the Alliance fleet that has glassed Reach. The armor of the elites of Halo Reach Game is much cooler

For me, The point of no return for this series was when they killed keys before the Alpha halo discovery. That. Makes. No. Sense. At. All. An incredibly poor and incorrect decision they took and i question how and why they got that decision and added it to the script. But because it has, I have a total loss of confidence in the writing of this series and no longer believe that this...thing...they call a series "Halo". Everything else, like the chief WITHOUT armour or the Makees unexplainable return from death (Strong "somehow palpatine has returned" vibes) is simply out-of-date icing on the cake at this point. ...and hold on...THAT...is an arbiter? HE LOOKS NOTHING LIKE AN ARBITER?! I only just realised he is an "Arbiter" when people started SAYING HES A DAMN ARBITER! The only thing they got right...was the fighting. The fighting was great. Except for that moment where chief got a plasma pistol cheap shot to stop the fight. That was a total kill joy.

A travesty. All it did is make me get my Halo: Fall of Reach through Onyx books out again, so I can feel better about myself after watching it. I'm only hanging in there for the action scenes, but watching a full series without Mjolnir is absolutely appalling and offending to the Halo fan. LOL Also, anyone else realize? That Soren is in his UNSC outfit more than Chief and Silver team are? LOL! He's in his undersuit with a duster thrown over it. At the very least, in the handful of times they were out of Mjolnir they were at least in their undersuits. In the first season Soren also dawns the breast plate as well. He has been more consistently Spartan outfitted than the actual S2s lol I'll admit. That said? there are two things I like about the show: Soren and the actress that plays Halsey. I prefer what they did with Soren's storyline. I think his real story is a bit weak and contrived and it was sort of a waste for an otherwise potential wildcard of a character that could probably somehow factor in at a later point in the story. They seem to be doing something more with him. As far as Halsey, I like the actress and her candor, but I do not like what they've done with Halsey. They try to make her a hated character like the later games did. Even though she was about the greater good and was close to her S2s, particularly John.

well I feel like there setting chief up for his “solo campaign” I just hate all the filler 😮‍💨 and there’s to many conflicts to really tell how there going to tie things up like cortana feels so far away We have the covenant ONI No armour Increasingly weaker chief. I watched season 1. Hated it. Knew when they announced they were gonna do the fall of reach theyd butcher it as well. So, didnt watch season 2 and im honestly glad I havent. My lord, they just dont get it.
