@@BBKDRAGOONthe game is still just so much fun, man. Funny how a game that isn’t even dev-supported (and hasn’t been for years) still feels as exhilarating as (or sometimes, more than) present-day AAA shooters.
I 100% think that Forgers should be compensated for their time and effort creating these maps. Some of them look absolutely stunning and play amazing. It’s criminal how 343 doesn’t already compensate them for their time cause some of these maps look just as good if not better than the dev maps. Mint blitz also brought up the idea of giving them the dev tools they need to create full fledged maps while 343 is doing whatever the hell their doing. And if there’s some sort’ve agreement or something that can be made between forgers and 343, I’d love to see them get compensated, motivating forgers to work even harder to make sure their maps are perfect.
Completely agree that Forgers should be paid to make maps in the actual Dev Tools (I forgot what the name was but I remember it was some Forerunner's name). I didn't grow up with the series but I was curious when I started El Dewrito wayy back in like 2017 then MCC PC and fell in love. I haven't played all campaigns but am familiar enough, so far my favorite mp's are Infinite, CE, then Reach and H4 BTB. I'm hopeful for the next entry since it's a new team with new leadership and a lot of the bad apples are out. I do hope they rebrand and bring in other studios like Certain Affinity etc.
Yeah the multiplatform aspect really adds to the greed, sacrifice game quality to what sell a free game? Flagship game isnt even exclusive to the new gen. They had luttle faith from the start so i dont believe any of their lame excuses

Well said games nowadays are about money first and fun second so wait for the game to release and find out if the game has enough of that fun factor for you.
As someone who moved away from Destiny back to Halo, it has been a breath of fresh air being able to play a PvP game with no fomo or weapon grind etc. I know it feels a little bare bones in comparison but to me, a game like Halo is something you get into if you want to have a life outside of gaming. Nothing pulls me and makes me feel like I need to play for endless hours but I can still enjoy the few hours a week I put into it and feel satisfied
@@ardentparagon159 It feels good. I genuinely feel like I am/was going through heavy withdrawal when I deleted my characters. The game suckered me for 5k hours and I didn't even realize it was eating my life up. I felt like it used to be fun but now it just feels like a heavy and glorified addiction.
@@brandona9326 I used to play the game a lot right before it went on steam. That was the peak of destiny The free to play update was cool but it kept going down hill and with the removal of a bunch of content i actually cared about the whole exotic power cap fiasco seasonal content just feeling shit and samey the icing on the cake was charging extra money for the dungeons and i just completely gave up on the game and became apathetic. Destiny used to be a good deal with so much content now its just a penny pinching exercise with heroin levels of engagement.
Arbiter It’s unfortunate that infinite is in the state it’s currently in, but I’m still enjoying playing the game and I look forward to the next Halo game. They do need to fix the cheating situation though.
As someone that has put 500+ hours into Infinite, and during Season 3-5 enjoyed and defended it... Everything since CU29 has pushed me away from playing. The focus on MTX/cosmetics. The complete lack of sandbox updates. The clear pivot that 343 is making towards whatever is "next" for Halo... The complete lack of transparency that 343 has in anything has left an awful taste in my mouth, and playing other games has only pushed me further from Infinite. Them scrapping Season 6 was such an awful decision and totally undid any building interest that Infinite had. I feel like it taking ~6 months to vet a Forge map to get it into rotation is CRAZY. I get things need to work well before being released, but if 343 is focusing on Forge-only updates... They really ought to quicken the pace. Beyond that, a Forge competition sounds great, and 343 really should have contracted the community Forgers already. I'm just taking a break from Halo for a while, I think. I'll be focusing on other games and series, because the current status of Halo just makes me feel so disappointed...
Infinite really feels like Microsoft noticed how 343 had mostly fixed the game so they cut back support to save costs as much as possible while contracting third party dev teams to make more overpriced macrotransactions.
A new UE5, M for Mature, true next gen Halo games is what we need. I stopped playing Infinite recently due to the lack of content. All the new content seems to be only cosmetic, which is disappointing. Still hoping for a classic Halo game though, even though my hopes are not high at all.
i would play infinite more if they actually add more content like new weapons and modes. i feel like this game is a bigger mess than halo 5 was. but thats just me
Really hit home: "games are supposed to be the place you go and recharge, have fun." I am definitely experiencing burnout and frustration with halo infinite, especially playing ranked, where the system is constantly playing against me and pushing me down instead of enabling me to thrive and improve.
Quit playing Infinite after Season 5. The cash grabs drove me away. I want to be able to earn some cool skins with my time spent playing, not sink more money into a game being held together by forge. On a different note, the Lawbreakers subreddit seems to have some community testing going on :)
It feels like with Season 4 and 5 they found there footing and built some good will, and then immediately gave up. I hope the next game is good, but its hard to have any hope after the last decade of Halo. Arbiter

I've had a series x and series s but have been staying with family recently after moving. As such I've been playing Infinite on an old Xbox One X and it's definitely not ideal. I'm still surprised how well it can maintain 57ish fps, but there is A LOT of desync and I pretty much avoid melee fights as I know I'm always going to lose them.
343i shot themselves in the foot when they said the game will be released on Xbox One alongside the Series Consoles. This is only going to hold a game back, and I called it. It's whatever though, I still have zero desire to play this Game. I'm still stuck on D2 and damn I've been having a blast with BF2042.
Honestly the only reason I am still playing Infinite is because I've almost hit Hero rank (Just over half way there through Onyx General Grade 2) via grinding Firefight KOTH and Gruntpocalypse for months now, I'll still be playing it for whatever the community makes in Forge and when the Exchange from MCC goes live later this year to acquire event cosmetics from the first two seasons I missed as I hated the pre-Winter Update challenge system along with weekly rewards that will be obtainable again.
Arbiter I really like Halo rn honestly. I don't focus on that stuff about them moving onto something else because it hasn't been long enough to have much of an effect. Just looking at where Halo Infinite was and all the drama over the last few years and then I look at it now. I'm happy, the forge maps are good etc and I enjoy the event, this is like the peak of the hill for how good the game is probably as we begin winding down and will lose the playerbase. Then again being on xbox I haven't seen any of these cheaters, it's always a pc thing. I come back every few weeks to play a bit with my friends, it's not one of those games I'm obsessed with it's just fun and it's Halo And I'm now thinking of the game as a whole, where it fits into the series and I'm happy to say that I've been convinced (though it took me a while), to say that 343 made a good mainline Halo game. And my memories of this one will be good, just pity they dropped it once they got to where it should've been instead of having one of those big comebacks you see with a lot of games recently after being improved. I guess there's no controlling what the mainstream gamers will flock to. Halo is just lowkey right now, we're doing alright -aside from the apparent cheater problem i guess
I think that keeping last gen would limit a lot of what the game can do, but instead of just deleting that player base they could instead have the game be cloud based for last gen, practically all of Microsoft first party games already are with xcloud, that way the game isn't limited by last gen but also doesn't leave them out.
Absolutely agree. Really don’t understand how it gets so much hate. Its easily the best halo 343 has made and in MY opinion, it has the best and smoothest gameplay of any halo. And im an OG halo player, 30 years old, and been playing since CE dropped on the pc back in 01.

That was my idea since forge was finally added to Infinite. That 343 should reward the best private forgers by at least offering them credits and special items for those who made it into the matchmaking rotations.
Had a similar experience going from a 3050 laptop to a 7800xt and a r5 7600x. Infinite's frames went from like 70-80 to 200+ The difference is crazy haha, can never go back
If you have the hardware capable of doing so, why not? What point is there to having top notch hardware if you're not going to push it? I have a 2070S, and constantly try to push what it's capable of.
Microsoft and 343 completely bungled Halo Infinite. After a bad launch and lackluster updates, they finally clawed their way back into relevance with Season 5. After that, the outlook for Halo was great! Content creators were all talking about a possible comeback and then 343 just PULLED THE PLUG. The only announced content update for Infinite is now over and we've only heard whispers of future games being worked on, so players really are in the DARK at this point. Honestly, I think 343 needs to drop something big and soon. If they don't have a massive announcement in June with details, a trailer, maybe some gameplay... it's over.
No, Microsoft had nothing to do with it. Halo's downfall was 343's doing, and they did it alone. Microsoft didn't ask for Halo to be objectively mismanaged. Nor did they feel the need to get involved with a mess that they didn't start. 343 mismanaged the franchise, and it's 343's responsibility to clean their mess.

I think they are the ones calling the shots. 343 is responsible for the lackluster content and awful storytelling for sure, but the business decisions I think are being made by Microsoft.

Also an ex-343 dev confirmed that they've pitched dozens of ideas to Microsoft, including an ODST game in the style of Helldivers 2, and Microsoft turned them all down. You really expect the company that had effectively been barring Rare from making any games for the last 20 years up until Sea of Thieves isn't a problem? You really think they're completely uninvolved in Halo's downfall?
343i still haven't fixed the EAC preventing the game from starting in a number of scenarios. I'm still waiting on them to fix it not launching when installed on an SMB share.
@@deepism Last year Microsoft fired almost 100 343 employees because they wanted to cut costs. Infinite didnt make them the money they wanted so they fired people so they wouldnt have to pay them and therefore make up the difference they lost.
I'm not a big fan of the idea that developing for current consoles and excluding last generation hardware is the best solution for improving the game play experience. Ultimately, it reduces the player base and doesn't actually provide any optimization, which would be the primary goal. Generally speaking, limitations breed innovation. I remember when Destiny 1 stopped supporting last gen consoles, and the expansions really didn't see much improvement in performance. All that changed was the file sizes increased and the player base became segregated.

I still play daily, but only Husky Raid to unwind since that game type is meant to be chaos. I actually have gone back to H5 a few times because of ALL the awesome stuff Warzone has and I miss that. ESPECIALLY in Husky Raid. All of the cool weapons in the campaign were available to use in the game was always awesome. Especially The Arbiters sword.

About forge: yes, no real question, they should provide economic reward no matter the development circle. If you incentivice it grows, if not, goodbye. About the show: yes, no real question, a series lore accurate does well in the audience is intended to, surprising. About hope for new halo: no, no real question, 343 has demonstrated their lack of capacity to do good full Halo game. Unfortunately i dont have any hope, wish to be proven wrong tho and that they learn from their mistakes and deliver a good story, full and tested multiplayer, content ready for some time, not agresive monetization,...
The game desperately needs a W or two right now. If this April 30th update comes out and it is lackluster the game might really take a dive in terms of engagement.
Things got worse somewhere during S4/S5. It made me dread playing PvP games. Matchmaking got so strict I had to constantly play against dudes like Paimon, who live and breathe Halo. And no, that shit was not fun. I miss the feeling of matchmaking that games like BF1 could give you. But if it wasn't for Infinite, I wouldn't have played games like Hi-Fi Rush. Also Arbiter.
Arbiter!! You mentioned at the end you've never seen ray traced stuff. Did you not know Infinite also has ray tracing? You just need to turn it on in the settings. I ALAWAYS have it on, those little shadows coming around the corner aren't just ghosts! 😄
In my opinion, it feels exactly the same as when it launched, just with a few more guns/vehicles/maps. Still feels like a game that is having the life strangled out of it by excessively strict SBMM, the lack of stuff to do, and the joke of a shop that everyone complains about. Infinite is just not fun. Plain and simple. That's why no matter what 343 does, people would still rather play the original trilogy on MCC (double the current players on Steam than Infinite btw). 343 just doesn't understand how to make a good Halo game, and they need to stop trying. Pass the IP on to a studio that will actually do it justice.
Arbiter.... 343's treatment of the Halo franchise over the past decade caused me to go out, touch grass and get a real life. I hope I don't have to witness a bunch of people forgive and forget as soon as they drop a tease for "Halo 7"

This is what happens when you hire people who hate Halo, especially when you put them into leadership positions. This is what happens to an IP when the new focus is money and competitive when the IP never had that focus to begin with. You're looking at the shitty dance that essentially boils down to receiving less support because it's just "not worth the effort" because it's not meeting new "standards".
Long message incoming!!! So firstly, for me personally the recent network update has been great. Im in the UK and the game is just feleing better. Secondly with regards to the forge maps etc, i wholeheartedly agree that they should he compensated for the time and effort they put in. Forge is literally holding the game together. The forge maps are so kuch better than the other new ones in mu opinion. Third, now this may seem harsh but i dont think anyone should be worried about the players on the OG Xbox. Halo needs to push on and if a map runs bad then so be it. I cant imagine that the playerbase on that console is huge, but the mojority need more. Lastly i thought the Halo TV series was great. Im a huge long time Halo fan but i can take myself away from the game and appreciate the show for what it is. Awesome vid as always
Forgers without question have hard carried Infinite. They deserve more than a coating for their efforts. Hard to invest time in Infinite when it does nothing to earn it. It’s become a chore. I’m one level from Hero rank and I just can’t play. Small intervals every week are all I can do now. Since I got game pass, might as well give the Fallout games a try. With all the positive reception I’ll definitely give the show a chance too.

I played on the OG Xbox One from 2013 up until this February when k finally got a Series X And my lord the difference is astronomical I can’t ever go back now, the game was clearly designed to be played on at least 60 fps The aiming and shooting feels miles better The sniper in particular actually functions now! It was essentially unusable on the Xbox one for me, to the point where I thought they had just made the sniper ABSURDLY difficult to use on purpose 😂
I really want that yokai helmet man 😂, but we need a new update, we need new maps, and forge was in halo 4 but the island is awful, a lot of people miss the carbine. And the covenant in general. And now they’re doing the banished. I really hope it’s gonna be good, do you miss all the clans? 😅😂
Totally with you on this, man. I love this game (besides the microtransactions), but it's rampant with cheaters right now. I've ran into so, so many. It's wild. Overall, feels like on the down, but I'm still playin. ;)
Can't say I have much interest in Infinite nowadays; whenever I do have the urge to play some Halo, the modding community for MCC keeps me more than well fed. Those custom campaigns and overhauls are really getting good. If I ever do go back to Infinite, it'll probably be just to play through the campaign again, which I quite enjoyed, and maybe to fuck around in Forge maps for a bit. Multiplayer however might very well be dead for me, as in all potential future online Halo titles I don't think I'll go near. Just give me the next campaign, Microsoft, and don't fucking dare soft-reboot it you stupid bastards.
The game has been the same since launch, the Xbox one version runs poorly atleast for me and it’s weird considering halo 5 runs and looks better for some reason
It's still not M rated and the characters still have the outlines. The sniper still has scope glare and the game doesn't have medkits like CE and Reach... I do not like the game. I would rather play Halo 5's arena.
I have to say that your gameplay is really really good, like those are shots that I see myself making but missing 99% of them. I 100% agree about being left in the dark, there's nothing I dislike more than having to listen to silence about Halo. Reminds me of all the wasted time during MCC's debacle and Infinite's first four months of launch where there was no fixes or patches that addressed player feedback. If they do have an entirely new game launch, they have to absolutely nail it or that will finally finally be the nail in the Halo coffin. No more messing around with any of the previous management, they have to come out the gate with complete fan service and pull all the resources they can with Unreal Halo. They're going to have to please every single fan that got burned by the previous 4-5 games made by 343: CEA, Halo 4, Halo 5, MCC and now Infinite. This shouldn't be a 343 lead game, it should be Microsoft led with every company they've had work on the franchise in the past present and future, otherwise I don't see this realistically working only inside 343.
