Dinh howling was pretty funny to me. I feel like it was intentionally meant to be pretty odd, you can even see your spartan at 3:26 shake their head as to say "what the hell have I gotten myself into?"
Same. Honestly, I think it was our Spartan's reaction that made it work. It made me roll my eyes at first, because I thought it was going to be another thing that 343 just thought would be cool and really wasn't, but then seeing my Spartan shake his head too immediately changed it into being "Dinh is a little off his rocker, and my Spartan is well aware." Makes it feel more natural.
It could because he's a veteran and has the kinda "f**k it" attitude. From what I've heard and seen real veterans can be like that. They like to talk shit and have a sort of dark humor. And the howl he's playing into the whole "Lone Wolf" bit. And our Spartan is sort of baffled by it because (at least I think) we're still a newbie who has yet to see real, hard combat. At least for Spartans.
Same even I cringed hard at the Dinh's unhinged wolf howling. And even I realised my in-game Spartan was cringing with me shaking his head! If intentional, nice touch I'll say!
The fact that Iratus knows everything now including the location of the secret UNSC base leads me to believe that this paves the way to firefight, where we spartans defend the academy or important UNSC locations from the banished!
I really hope they add firefight or a new set of campaign. That’d bring me (a halo player since CE, back in). I do love to watch your videos though because it does keep me in the loop
What's up with yall? They literally confirmed campaign dlc was never on the works. It was just talks and murmurs, and almost all of the campaign team got laid off. No DLC is coming at all. Move the fuck on.
Man if only there was already an established enemy faction that could infect Spartans and cause mass mayhem in the process that 343 could have used instead of the banished in this scenario
Didn't everyone literally hate infection mode from Halo 4....? Because they already tried using the flood for infection. Didn't go over well with people
The time we waited for a two minute cutscene really doesn't feel like lore. Heck I bet when season 4 drops the cutscene will be the armor climbing up the elevator and our Spartan pointing his gun, then after we beat the challenges(which have nothing to even do with the story) it just cuts to the problem solved after we shoot all the possessed armor.
@@krisridge1985 idk, some of his videos he was incredibly dissapointed in the series. While yes he gets money talking about it, it still hurts to see something you loved go to shit.
I think this lining up for PvE firefight in say, season 5, makes sense. That's where the narrative is going anyways. And maybe, though this is a long shot, the game from Certain Affinity could tie into this story even more, with you actually fighting the Banaishied on a large scale PvE mode to control key Oni locations so they don't take it. I know the rumors are that it's some BR but that was probably originally the plan. Last we heard about tatanka is that it's grown ins cale and might actually be it's own spinoff Halo side game.
Fire fight as a game mode holds a special memory for me. Me and my dad would play Halo 3 ODST firefight together when I was like 9 and it was a lot of fun. Then I got Halo Reach, and I will still hop into Firefights reguarly.
Another thing that I love that 343 has done is expand on the Created Faction in the Canon Story Shard: Precipice. It shows that the Domains Cure for Rampant AI's truly does work, as Governor Sloane, now *Auxiliary Sloane* says that his "limitations are removed and mind is widened" He also did not abandon his Planet of Miridian, as he has now terraformed it back to health "Turning Glass to Green" and are currently seeking new, advanced bodies. Some are inhabiting Promethean Knight Bodies, while others, like Sloane, are trying to gain control of their own Army of Spartans, further cybernetically enhancing them, known as Executors... This is a really cool idea and i love to see the Created grow out of Cortana's Shadow. Even though they are very evil, they genuinely think they are saving the galaxy and seriously improve the lives of those who help them, like the Balaho Grunts, and various terraformed planets. Even this Map at 6:38 is actually a Created-Launched Terraforming Platform!
That stuff's cool but wasn't that part of the Fracture and thus not canon? I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure that stuff is all hypothetical/not canon because it's linked to the Fracture core
@@HiddenXperia No, its Canon. 343 said the stuff involving Auxiliary Sloane IS Canon, the stuff about the Created gaining Spartans is just *simulated* attempts by Sloane.
Also glad they made this fracture cannon, there's so many things going on in the Halo universe and the fact that "INFINITE" wasn't exploring them felt odd. I do wanna hear more about the entrenched universe though, seemed like a perfect balance of quirky and intriguing.
@@HiddenXperiayes the armor core itself is non-canon and a simulation by Sloan, but all the background lore is canon and a nice continuation of the Created story
I genuinely thought Iratus was already in the armour, and that the armour was going to jumpscare us with that shot of Dinh next to the empty SPI armour. It was framed perfectly for that, but then Iratus started powering up everything else around him. I think it should have gone with the jumpscare before powering up everything and telling us he knows all about the Spartan program and whatnot.
If this multiplayer live service story linked up to the cancelled campaign DLC it would of been interesting! Especially to see the Chief take down AI infected Spartans! (Probably just me that finds that epic)
The « cancelled campaign DLC » that 343 never announced or working on ? Jason Schreier said that the campaign team was working on some experimentations for the next Halo before getting hit by layoffs not on any sort of DLC.
@@freethegoons « Refuse » ? You don’t even know what you’re saying. They can’t if they’re not authorized to by the higher hierarchy because of x reasons.
Really hope your theory on the narrative lines up with PVE modes being added. It be really cool to see Banished invade the academy and arena maps. Only to top that is to add the flood to firefight
@@unscinfinity3337 But humans know the weaknesses of the Spartan armor, so if he uses his own, it will share similar weaknesses and can just as easily be stopped.
Although it took a rough year and a half to finally get the ball rolling on this story, what we are getting is extremely cool! Really hope they keep it up, and the firefight theory is true
This is the first time since the game came out that im actually intrigued in the multiplayer story, not to mention them saying you're the same spartan you played as in Spartan Ops? Real nice touch
This actually was a bit scary to me imagine if they worked this into a DLC campaign if the actual Spartan is still in the suit that would make it incredibly jarring to have to kill them
Okay imagine, the banished use the stolen Spartan program data/ tech to arm them all , forcing the lower ranks like grunts to be test mice on the brutal surgical procedures and so on, fighting Frankenstein like enemies as campaign dlc sounds very fun ( I miss the flood and I feel this would be a good way to give us horror levels back)
i feel like putting captured marines in the suits would be spookier and when fighting you'd hear them scream and shout since the armor would probably be breaking all sorts of bones and muscle
Since this was a section III training facility that has been around since the beginning of the war, I would assume it was a Spartan III headhunter training ground
Before we knew anything about Infinite's story, my theory was that the Created were actually going to be the main antagonists still and we'd have to fight Spartans whose suits were completely seized by AI, which i believed even more when we got the very first trailer and we could see on Chief's HUD bootup that his suit specifically had countermeasures against AI inferference.
One of the things I love is that, since the update, the infection runs across the floor to infect the computers in the main multi-player screen, then it fades back to normal.
Besides the howl this gives me high hopes for infinite infection is obviously coming and i feel it's a 50% chance for firefight to come if your idea for where the story will go is accurate Edit: also if the banished get control of the world live fire is on it would be a perfect way to make a new enemy in the next game or a DLC via the empty spartan armor controled by banished ai
I thought this would be another wasted time tease thing. But that tease for Infection and Iratus having control and, most importantly, knowledge of the facility and Spartans is terrifying to think about. I'm very curious as to what happens next and if Firefight comes back in a big way.
I would make it to where the first narrative event brings infection into the fold, and then firefight would be the following. Going by their guidelines
Bro I just played Halo INFINITE multiplayer rn and I saw the infection that Iratus is doing too. literally infecting the servers just right now, and I love how it looks. absolutely can't wait to see what happens next. And can't wait for the infection
We got to give credit were credit is due! Well done 343! The cutscenes and the story became a lot better and the entire concept of the lore in MP looks very promising!
I really wish we would have unique actually infected spartans like 4 and 2A, but i think it would actually still be pretty cool if this ends up being the infected mode
Gonna save this video for when I've finished the event so I don't spoil myself, but I absolutely agree with the title. Even just the first cutscene so far seems way more interesting than than anything we've gotten previously, especially since it felt like our Spartan actually had an active role besides standing around, and we're actually investigating for once. Even the howling bit, which _almost_ ruined it, ended up working well in my opinion. It took me out of the moment when it first happened, but then seeing my Spartan shake his head too changed it from "343 trying to do something 'cool' and failing" to "Dinh is kinda off his rocker, and our Spartan is well aware of how odd that was." And I actually really like that dynamic. Very excited to see the second cutscene, and also how the narrative continues from here. It feels like it's finally picking up. Edit: I've finished the Event. And holy- yeah, things are _definitely_ picking up. I would love if this narrative eventually leads to Firefight- that would be incredibly cool, and is something I've been wanting for ages.
Ok, the hologram possessed spartan armors didn’t have to look this awesome, but I’m so glad they do. Sadly, the bad guys have knowledge on Spartans, which makes you think if the Brutes in the banished would look at all the knowledge of the Spartans and apply that to themselves somehow with their resources. I don’t see an army, but a sizable branch of the banished being Brute Spartans. I can just imagine them brandishing gravity hammers, moving crazy fast, completely armored and having enough strength to knock cars over possibly.
For the multiplayer part to remove Iratus from Dihn's head, it play as a simulation of the Camber instalation, where the LSS took place, similar to the battlegrounds at Halo 5 and the simulations on the Infinity during Halo 4. We were attacking each other to draw Iratus from Dhin by making him follow wich one was better fitting for him, since he always growls with fury saying that he will destroy and chew our meat. So it its plausible that he wants to slaughter everyone while "possessing" the best spartan possible. This is where it gets cool because it is a kind of link between the Series and the game itself, where both are revolving around the way that AI are playing with us since Cortana started the Created war against their creators. The story is getting very very serious but very cool to see, this is maybe taking us to a Spartan Ops Season 2 or an opening to a PvE introduction in Halo Infinite.
Shame about 343 butchering the launch of Infinite. Admittedly, i had a BLAST playing the campaign, watching guides for collectibles, and exploring the open world scene. It was a breath of fresh air, especially after Halo 5 which is the only Halo campaign ive completed once and refused to replay. Ive had my time with Infinite. Maybe ill pick it up again a year from now, but i had my time with the THICC microtransactions and shit challenges. Hope better for the next iteration and am very hopeful given the leadership changes. PS. ODST sequel following the books? Or a game following the ghost of onyx story exactly how it happened please?❤️
I’m upset that we have all this new lore and yet never closed the story with the flood or covanent and did not get to be a part of the solution for cortana, we just get told atriox kills her basically … to just drop such an important character without much* explanation or video is quite upsetting for how close we supposedly were to her.
That would be really cool if the academy was turned into a firefight map. They already have the house of reckoning from the campaign they could use as a ff map too. Boom. PVE mode.
Firefight would be SUCH a big W for Infinite, especially if you could get XP when playing it bc I'm not the biggest fan of PVP but I still wanna unlock some cool armor
I hope they eventually release a game which covers the Spartan 3s campaign. I doubt they'll do it, but even having the option too wear their Spi armor would be awesome.
HXP, I did that idea of firefight you mentioned. On a related note I don't want it to be as story-driven as Spartan ops. I think Spartan ops could come back as its own thing again. I'd want a legit modern Halo firefight mode. Good video with solid but this is my take on the firefight thing
Maybe it’s so far underground that Iratus doesn’t have comms? Maybe the ONI facility doesn’t even have communications? It’s supposed to be an off the grid black site, so why would they need extra planetary communications? If the Johnson Academy is- nvm you just started talking about that in the video. But maybe the reason firefight might invade the academy it’s because they have to physically extract Iratus due to the size of the data or it can’t be transmitted over such long distances? Maybe the UNSC know they can’t keep out the banished for long, so they’re training to defend the academy from the banished?
ONLY thing I want from the live service story is to have it be more like spartan ops, imagine if these events came with one ore two replayable mission(s) that released during these events would have been SOOOOO much better
I just dont see how anyone can find this garbage by 343 enjoyable. Can someone say with a straight face that this feels like Halo? Its a different game entirely.
It could possibly lead us back to what season 1 established. Chief and the Infinity being M.I.A along with Zeta Halo, bringing forth a possible DLC continuing the story of Infinite's campaign
Man I still want more stuff from HW-2, I was so exited for banished scarabs, blisterbacks, reavers, ETC was so…ahh to, but it’s ruined now. We didn’t even get drones and engineers…and skimmers don’t do either justice
@HiddenXperia Halo Infinite should have been a Noncanon Halo game and dropped the $60 Master Chief story and had the story based on you and your Friend's custom multiplayer Spartans like with Destiny minus the Looter Shooter aspect. With it being Noncanon you can bring back old fan favorite characters and factions like Sgt. Johnson and the Covenant it could have it's own lore with out mainline games holding it back the story would just be the multiplayer and some campaign missions like you and your friends have to brake into a Covenant or Banished ship to kill a HVT or steal a Forerunner artifact but it would also have normal Halo Multiplayer and the Spartan Academy could be a hub world where you, you're friends, and random players could hang out and view each other's custom Spartans and chat! Then add more campaign story that would also add Playable Elites again maybe 343i really hates that though...
The live service story is going in a great direction. I just hope that the myltiplayer matches will somehow impact the story as opposed to just being training programs. Fingers crossed for those pve leaks.
I really liked Halo 4 infected Spartans. That was awesome. I get that it doesn't fit the current narrative but damnit I miss the gooey green blob eat you creatures :(
I was also thinking that the narrative might fit to implement infection mode first and followed by PvE firefight with waves of banished forces trying to invade the Spartan training facilities.
The cutscenes are cool - too bad they don’t play into anything. They keep teasing it like you’re about to head into a PvE experience and then you just get returned to the main menu. I’m sick of the negativity surrounding 343…but I’m so fucking tired of this half baked Halo at the same time. Sincerely hoping we get firefight along Infection with an actual ranking system. Then maybe this will feel like a Halo game and not a pre-release title.
