I know right. Its so hard to beat 15 minutes on this because you have to wait like 3 or 4 minutes to get across the rivers and you have a long way to travel. I had to watch this video to beat it. I think i got 14:47 par time. Took me 3 or 4 tries
@@zac3194 which is ironic since in Oracle, where the first boss, Sesa the Heretic Hero, they give you 25 minutes. That is because of the first stupid elevator. And again in the cable room. And the last fire fight place before the boss room.
Honestly two betrayals is far easier for par time since on easy, you can skip over pretty much all the enemies There is no waiting around. Just two objectives (one which is on your way to escape) than drive back to the beginning
Just ran through all the H2 par times tonight, there's another technique on this level using grenade jumping across a few of the stations at the beginning and it skips the hunter battle and you cab start in the gondola within the first minute, took me a few tries to get it down but you might wanna check it out. Keep putting up good videos man I don't think I can 100% MCC but I want to get as close as possible and your videos are definitely helping.
He does that in his monopolised guide. He knows but it's easy enough to just run through so I guess he didn't wanna over complicate an easy achievement
On first attempt for the par time I was killed with overcharged plasma pistol and something else seconds after I finished Regret. And yeah, checkpoint didn't worked, so I was forced for second run, finished in 14:37. Thanks for the guide!
Just completed this in 14:15 after quite a few tries, had to do the God Despawn at the beginning to shave off some time. Mad props to Silver for these guides, fantastic stuff!
Hey bro I know you uploaded this video years ago but just wanted to say thanks for the mini short cuts, I literally needed them to beat the time. I would take out the prophet but only have 14:30 right after and the game doesn’t end right away which drove me nuts because I was so close every time so thank you!
Ugh. Got 15:15 because I tried to jump before the bridge came out at the end of the first gondola. Started following these par time guides last night, and got every level previous on the first try. Now I've had 10 goes at this level so far, and I think I might just give up if I don't get it this next time.
Thanks to that tip about the gondola, drones, and elevator I was able to not only skip the hunters from spawning but the drones and made it my fastest time ever on that level.
You should do the God Despawn. Do the first area grenade jumps and skip quite a few enemies and then you will be well set up for the massive super jump across the broken bridge to the other platform. There will be a few jackles whom you will want to kill. I suggest trying to avoid killing all of them and know where the last one is, duck him and move to the gondola without ever going into that circle (where you usually fight the Hunters). On the gondola there is a collapseable launch bridge. Look closely at the ground in classic graphics. You will see the cutout of the collapseable platform. It is very important to find the end of the Left hand side of this platform. So walk up to the big circle area (where the hunters usually are). DONT jump onto or over the guardrail to that area or you will spawn everyone. Now look for a very obvious crack/line in the floor (looking at the gondola, the line will be on the right hand side). Follow this line until it ends, now turn 180 so that you are facing the hunter area and sidestep to the right 2 steps. Now you have placed yourself in the perfect distance to throw 3 grenades up into the air and they all will hit the ground and kill the idiots standing over there. Youre gonna need to have 1 frag and 2 plasma grenades. I like to waste all my other grenades and then kill the very last jackle and the last elites, if done correctly, you can get a checkpoint in that exact perfect spot. Use a beam rifle to snipe them. Jump-snipe if you have to. Once in the perfect spot, you will look straight at the hunter area and then look straight up into the Sky, don't turn left or right at all. Looking straight up, you will throw 1 Plasma, then bump your lefthand control stick 2 times to go Right and then throw 1 Plasma grenade, then bump your left stick 2 times to go right, and now throw 1 frag. Now look down to the hunter area..... You need to RUN over and jump onto the Handrail to spawn the enemies, and then turn around and instantly run-jump back to the gondola. The hardest part is to get over that collapseable platform before it retracts and you fall into the ocean. The grenades will all land and kill the correct enemies (all). You need to turn around and look back at the hunter are as fast as possible and check for any live enemies. If there is anyone left.... Snipe them with a beam rifle. Watch some videos on it, its really not that hard. Some people do it differently but the Air-grenades is the best way. If you do it correctly, no enemies will attack you on the gondola and there will be no hunters either. Major time save.
I spent the last 3 hours of my life trying to get this achievement and on my last run before I went to bed, I was 10 SECONDS SHORT😀because the level didn’t end until 10 seconds after you kill Truth. I’m watching this right now and I will do the run tomorrow.
Whew, got this one with 14 seconds to spare. I probably would’ve gotten it on my first attempt, but I stupidly jumped at the end of the gondola when I should have been patient and waited for the bridge to go across. I thought I could make it lol. I agree, this one should be 20 minutes. Thanks for your tips on these!
Tip that worked for me. Streaking skull will give you more than enough shields to survive IF a sword elite happens to stab you after dismounting Regret. Saved my bacon.
One way to shave off a few minutes but you will have some trial and error with this... turn on cowbell, immediately made jump to separate tower at start of level where the notorious HI BEN easter egg. Grande jump from that tower to the initial gondola. You should get a checkpoint there. The first gondola leaves as soon as the additional enemies are triggered to load in the center area (where phantom and pelican drop stuff off). Jump onto the little divider between the gondola and center area - that’ll trigger enemies to load and the first gondola to leave. As soon as you trigger that book it/grenade jump if needed to first gondola. This worked for me
I did this and ended up getting super lucky when a random glitch caused the phantom that normally brings the hunters to despawn, saving me probably 30 seconds or maybe even a full minute. Thanks for the video, btw. Very helpful!
Great. I got 15:00. But being exactly on par does not get anyone that damn achievement. This level is ridiculous. I always lose time on the damn bugs before the lift.
This was a fricken pain. I did the grenade jump trick at the beginning and then followed your guide the rest of the way. The trick where you stand up top and kill the jackals so the drones don't spawn didn't work for me, they still spawned. And then the prophet didn't die in one hit on easy, it took three. Still made it in 12:55 though thank God.
Had a weird glitch on my first playthrough of this level where the phantom flew in to drop off the Hunters, then vanished without ever dropping the hunters. Second playthrough on the same difficulty this didn't happen. Odd. Edit: apparently this happens if you stand under the phantom.
Managed to get lucky, the phantom that drops the two hunters ended up despawning before it dropped in the hunters. I managed to save about a minute with that lucky glitch!
So I was playing the level and watching the video during those moments when I had to wait, and I got to the part near the end on the last gondola, and like a dingus I tried to make the jump and failed right as you said "It's kind of risky." I am not a clever man...
Tried that final gondola jump coz I was scared I wouldn't make it... I missed it barely like I bounced off the edge of the platform.. I then got to the final room, killed regret but got wedged between a group of enemies and couldn't escape when the chair blew up and with them sword elites swiping at me I died.. Had 40 seconds to complete that final section again.. Did it in 14:56 omg

During the first gondola run, when the opposing one ridden by enemies came, the last elite just stood near a wall where I couldn't shoot him so I had to waste 30 seconds to waste ammo to get him out and then get him myself, fuck this stupid shit
15 mins and 5 seconds, even using the bypass you show in your "monoplized" guide. This level has an unbelievably unfair par time for as much scripted movement as there is.
It is everyones least favourite. It is the most unbalanced game in the series. Gravemind is the perfect example. On Legendary, you can die within 1 second of the level starting.
Yeah, tbh while Halo CE and 2 were awesome games for their times, I feel like compared to the newer titles they don't hold up (at least to 3, ODST and Reach). The level design is probably the worst aspect for both games, it's just kinda outdated. Lots of recycling in Halo CE with confusing layouts (343 Guilty Spark) and lots of waiting around and doing nothing in Halo 2.
