God, as much as I absolutely adore SODAZ's current work I do very much lament the way was burned from Games Workshop and the Warhammer community. He had some incredible animations in the works before the drama started.

I love this unified timeline between Halo and WH40K. The only problem is the difficulty in melding the lore behind each franchise. I have a hard time seeing the War in Heaven and the rise of the Eldar working alongside all the crazy events involving the Forerunners, Precursors, and Ancient Humanity, not to mention the Flood/Forerunner war. But if there is a clever solution, I'm all in for it!

The Covenant are one of the few factions from other sci-fi franchises that could survive, in a limited capacity, in 40k. They are very similar to the Ta'u in that they are a united group of different xenos races with quite advanced technology but are also much smaller than the Imperium. Even though the Imperium and the Covenant would definitely clash given how the Imperium hates all xenos and the Covenant wants to exterminate humanity, the Covenant are again similar to the Ta'u in that the Covenant is a much more minor threat to the Imperium than the next Chaos Black Crusade, Tyranid hive fleet, or Ork Waaagh! that the Imperium doesn't have the time or resources to invest in completely xenociding the Covenant. Also, Covenant weaponry while advanced is still comparatively weaker in most categories for example Covenant plasma weaponry is nowhere nearly as powerful as that of the Imperium with the Covenant plasma pistol overcharged probably being comparable to an Imperium standard plasma pistol.

Ha I look forward to see how the Precursors/Primordials (who were basically Halo Old Ones) the Forerunners, the Ancestors/Ancient humanity and the Flood fits into this timeline.

I think if warhammer had grunts that were kitted like how the ODST were, they'd be more badass with them lazguns....

Honestly if ODSTs existed, I'd change everything about myself to become one.

Sodaz is a goddamn genius!

I absolutely LOVE this "Unified Timeline" idea. There's such a massive time jump between modern day to 40K, and most sci-fi franchises are set between 200 to 1,000 years in the future, so Halo and its respective lore can quite easily fit into the narrative of 40K. Even the War in Heaven and the events surrounding Ancient Humanity, the Forerunners and the Flood can be made to fit together, maybe by just establishing the War in Heaven occurred before the Precursors came to our galaxy with an idea to remake the ruins of our galaxy by their own moral ideals. I really hope you do more with this concept. Semper Fi Marine.

The original Bungie team were heavily inspired by 40k when creating Halo. There's a lot of similarities between the astartes and spartan 2s. Each spartan 2 was kidnapped from their families around the age of 7, put through heavy genetic augmentation, trained in warfare, heavily programmed by technology, and to keep them sane, had a removable AI that could be inserted at the base of their helmets. There's a lot more to it, but I wanted to keep it brief.

Considering the level of the threat, I would make standard assault rifle calibre a minimum of 300 Win mag for the extra penetration & kinetic potential against a larger game like moose or bear; So it should work well against larger Xenos if bolt rounds are not an option.

I love how even in the far future, marines will be marines, and the military will still rock the enemy even in a losing battle 😂 One thing I always found odd about the Wraiths was their mortar like plasma cannon was so slow moving and telegraphed you'd think it was more common for troops + fast ground units to get clear before it hits/lands ? (That is if they were aware of the incoming, or the wraith didn't lead its shot) yet you see it being used to such devastating effect. though I guess also if you have a good number of them not only could they be used to corral and lead the enemy, but entrap them. LOVE animations like this (And your breakdowns & reactions! ) , Sodaz is awesome, have you checked out his S.T.A.L.K.E.R one yet? If you're a fan of FPS' I really recommend S.T.A.L.K.E.R. GAMMA

its not one to one, but your idea to tie the universes together in one time line made me think, "where would reach be in the 'modern' 40k galaxy?" after some preliminary research ive concluded the best candidates would either be Gathalamor or Necromunda, as they share the same general location of the galaxy as well as distance from Earth/Terra. it would be pretty fitting for a world that was once deemed the most martially sound as well as on the cutting edge of humanity in the 2550's is nothing but a gang infested hive world in 40k.

odsts weren't part of ONI sometimes they were assigned to ONI but they were marines. Spartans became its own branch once it was acknowledged by the UNSC. BTW this had me more UP then the Hub

All the shooting in the valley battle goes on within < 100 meters of contact... it's almost like Sodaz played warhammer 40k and was like "Yep, that's how modern battles are fought". :P Also, his HUD going out means he's dead! Or maybe it's like a samsung where the screen just turns off at random. "Fuck!" *taps helmet spasmodically* "Fuck!"

I was never a halo fan. My son was RIP. Wish he could’ve seen these. Combining this and 40k is a reach. No pun intended. 40k universe is a symbolic representation of how twisted humanity is.

So i liked this vid, but i have two critiques, one easily solved, the other more involved. The easy one is it would be nice if you linked to the video youre breaking down directly, The other one is i miss when you would break down the tactics involved in each scene, what choices made sense, which were silly but stylish, and which were just plain silly.

I know your putting into the context of 40k. But the whole theory that SM are way better than Spartans isn't true., It is hard to measure because 40k lore compared to halo is is very inconsistent, but Spartans are easily a match for space marines.

Halo covenant vs the imperium of man😂😂 Two outright advanced factions that are religiously fanatical and absolutely hate each other😂 Unlike the UNSC the imperium is more convention in its means however whilst being both technologically inferior to the UNSC, lacking things like ship board AI as well as a lot of automated systems and equipment, such as a factory that can be run completely autonomously, vs the millions of slaves required for its labor forces, as well as the lack of the UNSC’s creativity and flexibility which was what really saved them from the covenant despite being inferior in every aspect outside of ground combat in which the UNSC barely had an equal playing field, however unlike the UNSC, the imperium does possess better and far more effective weapons and equipment such as the lasguns, leman Russ and sentinel walkers along with las melta weapons, that being said the imperium tend to have a much more direct approach when it comes to war, that being said they are capable of abstract and tactical abilities, along with a more flexible command structure, due to the variety and multi cultural nature of the imperium such as the katachans, Attilan rough riders, carahoni warhawks, Elysian drop troops and the tallarn desert raiders making excellent use of hit and run tactics as well as a more flexible combat doctrine, however due to the scale of most wars they tend to be few and far between, however their tactical and communications systems can be highly effective allowing mechanized units to run rings around our own modern military’s with ease, not to mention that the standard leman Russ is much more effective than a scorpion having access to a usual configuration of a battle cannon, lascannon and two heavy bolters, but even then the fact that worlds like reach despite being a major research world and highly defended still fell within a few months, vs the standard imperial planet being designed to withstand most planetary assaults, can withstand a significant invasion where even places like hive hellsreach was more or less able to hold off an ork invasion despite having a few dozen marines to help and titans. That being said whilst the covenant are fickle they are capable of adapting to a given enemy and they all have shield technology as a form of standard equipment for most elite units vs the imperium in which shields are as rare as man winning a tinder date with a fish in his hands, and unlike most enemies humanity has to deal with, the elites are skilled and capable fights being more than capable of going toe to toe or blade to blade against a space marine, not to mention their more readily available access to things like scarabs would be a nightmare for anyone without a dedicated titan hunter or even a knight which is again few and far between, along with their use of steal technology makes them as annoying and as illusive as the tau, the only real problem for the covenant would be in space since unlike most UNSC ships, imperial warships ass have shields and are capable of surviving considerable amounts of damage, that being said a glassing beam would be equally to a single lance shot from a cruiser and whilst the smaller destroyers and escorts may struggle the larger ships may be alright.

Why why must you deminish halo to just be into 40k. 40k is a silly often times terribly writer non-sci fi it should stay within its own lane and let halo and others stay in theirs. I grow tired of people just squishing other ips into early 40k thats both disrespectful and just lame i get it we are all straved for good animations but dont chalk it up as this is 40k now
