I really don't like season 1 but season 2 has been better not the best but has gotten better I feel like you're just nitpicking at everything just for the sake of it. If me a fan of Halo for 20 years can sit here and just enjoy the fact we have a show even though it might not be the best then so can you and if not just don't watch it. The only parts in looking forward in the show is seeing more arbiter and the covenant side and that's enough for me.

This is already happening where I live. Most people over here are discovering halo through the show.

Maybe he has a balaclava on and rolls his eyes at a bad fictional version of real events. Then the reveal the much better and more accurate spin-off. But the PEOPLE THIS SHOW IS MADE FOR are the bad guys for having standards. 😑

That's the main issue with this show, I don't think the Cole Protocol even exists in this timeline. It's nearly bloody impossible to take this show seriously when decades of excellently written Halo lore is constantly pulling at your brain, reminding you that this is practically fan fiction in comparison.

You see this a lot now, Part of me genuinely believes there are that many brainlets in the world... But i still wan't to believe that's not true and bots are infact rampent now... We've been give such low standards of writing for a decade now that the moment anyone gets a wiff of a mildly interesting show people flock to it and fanboy the shit out of it... IMO the last of us Show is a prime example... Phenominal source material that set the gold standard of video game story telling... Yet the show is a badly written husk and embarrassment to The original game and anyone that bothers to pick it apart would come to that conclusion... Yet because it has a good actor at the helm, is made by HBO, Has a serious budget and has an amazing set designer its now praised as the second coming of jesus christ and apparently is the new gold standard for adaptations... The guys that can do better don't align with the CEOs and Executive Producers and will never be hired... The corporate money machine drives decision making... The marketing analysts have audiences figured out to the tee, There are masters at manipulation and have been making Fans public enemy number one for the past 10 - 15 years... I'm depressed.

Only people that cant see that are the casual fans that didnt know the story to begin with. They approached the franchise as if it was a failed ip and tried to change everything to the point that you dont recognize it.

@@MrBlazinerday It is nitpicking when 95% of the commentary is "Waaah, they didn't do it like this in the game!" and most of the critics haven't read the novels which the show is using heavily. A television show is a different medium, built for a different audience. The story HAS to be different, especially when dealing with a paper thin main character like Master Chief who is (intentionally) a 2-dimensions character int the games. Most Halo RU-vidrs have awful media literacy and it shows.

This episode made me the most angry though. Master Cheeks Horny Officer was proven to be right about the covenant on Reach. Yet Kai still doesn't trust him? I was actually pissed off about how stupid this show is.

Yeah, that is why I try to focus on the show’s story and use the games as a comparison to give an idea of why the story they’re telling feels like it lacks a soul. For instance, I didn’t bring up Cole protocol at all, I just talked about how insane it is that ONI thought intentionally letting the most advanced/knowledgeable AI fall into the hands of an enemy far more advanced than themselves was a good idea… as well as how insanely lucky they were it worked out… it is a mess :)

The budget was around $200 million unfortunately. They just really screwed it up.

@@spencerkid Good point. For a moment in the hallway scene after the first Spartan III training debriefing, I thought they were setting up Perez and Kai in an "inappropriate fraternization" scenario. Seems like a very "For Modern Audiences™" move Paramount would make. (It would have mimicked the Top Gun debriefing scene, which then had Tom Cruise chasing after her afterwards + the ensuing argument)

They already got new writers and showrunners for season 2, i strongly doubt that there will be a season 3 but even if a season 3 will happen, they would never change SR & Staff again.
