Here in Texas we call these funeral sandwiches. We just lay the ham and cheese across the whole pan of bread. Once they're done & cooled a bit, we slice through them both ways. We're lazy I reckin. We have them now & then for supper. I love the taste of the poppy seeds, but hate how I'm picking them out of my teeth for an hour lol. We don't let them sit overnight though. Can't wait that long lol. I loved the Jetsons too. I often think how many things on star trek that we have now that we thought we're so unrealistic then. I'm still waiting on the food replicators. Just walk up to a machine tell it what you want and there it is. lol

I can't thank you enough for this recipe. I made it for a family luncheon. Absolutely everyone loved it. My husband and I loved the aroma of the butter concoction made and added the night before. I made a few small changes based on what I had available. Instead of poppyseeds, I used Everything Bagel seasoning. I also used onion powder instead of the minced onions and munster cheese (our personal favorite) instead of Swiss cheese. I followed your instructions to the letter and ooh-la-la! They were so delicious! Thank you for all you bring to our tables.

We watched this the day you first posted it. A little while later, Jen commented that watching it had put her in the mood for some of these. I had already ordered a spiral ham, which I baked the next day. I used the leftovers to make a half-batch. They were so good. Because my ham was thicker (and scrappier), I cut the sliders apart before baking to make them easier to serve. We like them made with country ham, too. Love watching your videos.

Sitt’n here trying to think of an easy way to fix some supper using the ham..This sounds yummy so I’ll make these and prolly some home fries .. A slider isn’t dictated by the size. A slider is a small GREASY GOOD burger. It’s called a slider because you’ve grease running down your arm as you eat it, and when you bit into it the bite just slides down your throat. That’s a slider.

My mom makes something similar, instead with roast beef and horseradish, I will have to see about getting her to put this butter sauce over the top. 🥪👍
They are one of my favorite things to have, especially for a gathering or a party. They're great finger foods. But we've also eaten them as a meal, too.

I live in Scotland and our cuisines are very different. I sometimes wince at the amount of sugar you guys over the pond put in everything, including what are essentially savoury dishes. But on the whole I can adapt your wonderful, simple delicious recipes . Thank you

We’ve never frozen them ahead of baking them so I don’t know. Sometimes bread freezes well and other times it’s not as good. The bread would be a quality concern but I’d think everything else would be just fine.
