I'm surprised to know that an Oxford student has such an inadequate knowledge of politics, it seems to me that he was lack of confidence when he asked the question. It could be that he wasn't really paying too much attention to politics and he got his facts from random non-credible sources, but if he does a politic student then he should really be ashamed.
the blonde one at the background reactions to everything Galloway said. It made me a bit sad to see how she and others like her weren't interested in anything he had to say, not even on the sincerest level.
@@ZizouZidane7 He gave a satisfactory answer. Perhaps you thought he didn’t answer the question, because he didn’t give u the answer what you wanted to hear.
I found a man today who has won my heart. There was a time when I thought that the west had lost all it's moral fabric. I just discovered this hero about twenty minutes ago and I now believe that a spark of morality still remains and can initiate a fire of morality GODWILLING
Do you know what a charlatan is.... Do you know the definition of thief is .. If you just believe someone is a hero for what he says, Then you are responsible for some of the problems we have in society's because of your lazy thinking... you should look at the reason someone says something... The same way you judge what someone says in a court of law. You judge the honesty of the testimony you hear depending on there interests in the outcome. Also just like in a court case. When you have a lawyer for the defence or prosecution.. they will say something that thats true . But it's a false impression of what the real issue is . Galloway rents himself out to dictatorships around the world. To focus a country's populations on something other than the government he is employed by. His C V includes Iraq Saddam Hussain IRAN president ahmadinejad Syrian president Asad Lebanons hamas Russian putin... Kicked out the British parliament because he would not disclose who is paying him money Recognise a pattern.?
He is a true gentleman , the only Brit 'politic who's got moral ,ethics and humanism ! And speaks the truth , loud nd clear , which we cant say for rest of his ''colegues''
It is astounding they are asking such questions. And amazingly heartening to see this response given by George Galloway showing how well engaged he is.
In my experience it is not surprising that some, probably many, from Oxford and Cambridge wilfully distort the truth and ignore history in order to spread lies about the Israel/Palestine issue. Just look at the degree to which UK government institutions and mainstream media in the UK (which are dominated where it matters by Oxford/Cambridge alumni) adopt a default position of 'support Israel at all costs and suppress any dissent'
The students question would work well on the majority of people, but not George Galloway, so this was very, very educational for the student and thus the debate was of great value to him.
That question was so ridiculous it's insane that anyone can ask it, like good god how oblivious can someone be to believe any palastanian including Mahmoud Abbas has any power to deny anything from any Jew, the country with an army backed the entire west the country that has nuclear power the country that keeps palastanian in refugee camps and continues to build illigal settlements on top of palastanian homes, and this idiot of a student thinks that Mahmoud Abbas has any power is too stupid to be even considered. I can't comprehend how Mr. George can handle being surrounded by such stupidity.
George Galloway was kicked out of the Labour party for his opposition to the Iraq war, and now look where that war has gotten everyone, death tolls of over 100,000 in Iraq (just civillians). George, you should wear this as a badge of honour.
haha, ben shapiro. Anyone in this comment section could destroy him, hes a joke. I am talking about ben shapiro on israel-palestine by the way, i dont listen to anything else he talks about.
@@StreetDrillaActually untrue. Chances are very high that ben shapiro would obliterate you in a debate. Two things can be true; 1. shapiro is a very skilled and shrewd debater. 2. He rarely debates extremely well read experts though
Who would have thought a savory spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic would be the cause of such conflict.
Well done AGAIN GG , you’re a true man, one with amazing knowledge on everything.. your friend and comrade... God Bless you and your family n friends 🇮🇪🇵🇸🍀✊🏻
for a long time i have found it strange how people can look down on a person who curses while angry and yet someone else can say the most disgusting things: approving of economic exploitation that the capitalist forces on the working class every day, misogyny, xenophobia, murdering 1 million iraquis, etc, in a "calm clear and respectful manner" and we're supposed to accept the latter as more reasonable or respectful because there "Was little emotion"
It's impossible for a country to disappear that never existed in the first place. It's impossible to find any historical record of Arab Palestine. Before 1964, the Arabs were Arabs. There was the Arab Refugee Crisis, not the Palestinian Refugee Crisis. Under the British Mandate, it was the Jews who adopted the name Palestinian, while the Arabs hated that name and spoke before the Peel Commission of 1936 that they considered the name to be solely Jewish and "alien to the Arabs." A spokesman for the PTO in 1964 told a Dutch newspaper that the name Palestine was invented in order to make the Arabs seem more like the "underdogs."
The land was referred to as Palestine as early as 1189 when Richard the Lionheart was going there during the Crusades. There is literally a mural in the House of Commons calling it that.
First of all people who are disappointed in Oxford or any other quote" prestigious schools should note that the majority of students are students who can afford it meaning Rich folks they are not smarter than you they are just richer and have more connections than you
George Galloway is clearly an intelligent, and a highly articulate speaker. However, he appears more willing to prevaricate, instead of actually answering the question at hand. The student questioned him about his stance on the Israel-Palestine two-state solution since Hamas evidently lack both the credibility and will needed for such solutions.
Amazing to me how people can just up and say just about anything and claim it fact. When your proven other wise, have the decency as a pupil of a prestigious school and apologize.
G.G. 11 years ago at The Oxford Union with some astoundingly prescient words....."all you'll be doing, is continuing to fill the swamp with bitterness & hatred, and a terrible harvest can only come from that"
+CIarKent gay people have been living as a minority in all countries, for all of humanities existence. And have been prosecuted for being gay. Maybe all gay people should claim the right to occupy germany. Since there are more than 300 other states where straight people are the majority, all germans can move there. Do you see the flaw in your logic?
I can't stand this guy's hypocrisy sometimes. He now says he doesn't "like" Hamas, but does anyone know why? It's because when Assad started slaughtering his people who had the temerity to call for an end to a 40 year brute 1 family rule, Hamas rightly chose to leave Syria. This apparently upset the leader of the British branch of the Baath party Galloway.
I don't think this group of young people are capable of critical thinking let alone participate in an intellectual discussion with monsieur George Galloway.
I agree with many of the statements made by George Galloway, as he makes a lot of sense and he is a good man. However, I am not sure how a single state like Israel-Palestine or Palestine-Israel would exist given the years of hatred, and distrust between Israelis and the Palestinians. In essence, I think a single state in which all groups could peacefully coexist, but it would be highly dependent on mutual trust between the parties concerned.
yes he is but he can not change athing ...he has no power or lobby behind him .people in the west brainwashed by their media and most of them do not care whats going on the world as long they are not touch ...most do not discuss politics or relgions and have no knwoldge of both ....the 9th grader in middle east knows politics more than Biden or Trump .
A Democratic solution is already there, there are already Palestinians living amongst the Jews. The problem is that the Palestinians refuse to live under Israel, they just want their own state, even if all citizens were equal, Palestinians would still fight for a Palestinian state, democratically or by other means.
Hamas fell out of favour with western anti-imperialists after they severed all relations with Syria in 2012 and started supporting Syrian rebels. Assad said to the Swedish Expressen newspaper in 2015 that Hamas in Yarmouk "supports Al Nusra front"
to be honest i am a bit shocken since ive grown up ive seen oxford as the place where the most intelligent and educated people can enter now i might have to think about it. These students just basically watch some headline of media and believe it as it is, no research done by them selves.
but wouldnt it lead to a situation like in lebanon??? i dont understand?? why is a democratic one man one woman one vote good? wouldnt it cause different cultures to cause different political parties like lebanon only to destroy the city? and they will vote each other out until the muslim population destroys the jews?
Yes. Galloway is living in Dreamland, wearing pink glasses. He thinks people will smell the roses and live along each other in peace till the end of time. I expected something else from this clip, but this is absurd. This is something that Miss Universe says when she wins the competition, you know? "I wish for peace in the world and all people living together in harmony".
Yes, this is what he said about Hamas: "Maybe the American government, the British, and the Israelis don't recognize Ismail Haniya as prime minister of Palestine, but we recognize Ismail Haniya as the prime minister of Palestine. [...] And he is our prime minister also, because all over the world, there has grown a slogan: In our thousands, in our millions, we are Palestinians. All of us are Palestinians, and Ismail Haniya is the elected prime minister of all of us."
How can his eyes be this blue after being involved in this issue for so long? “The solution? One state, they all live together, it’ll work just fine.” And how did his hopes for Hamas being “voted out” turn out? He doesn’t even want to admit how much of a thuggish and barbarian movement Hamas is, which is a problem if you are trying to prescribe any kind of solution.
It doesn`t matter what the student is saying it is a disgrace the way he responds to those questions. It is disrespectful in the deepest way. In all cases these students are learning and are therefore not expected to be yet a expert on these subjects. In the way George Galloway responds, even if the students are sometimes attacking him directly, he is harming their learning process and self esteem. As a guest or in general he should be less emotional and speak in a respectful manner. What does he get by attacking the student and asking in public if the asking person is really an Oxford student. It creates an evironment where nobody wants to ask him anything because they are afraid to do so. You can clearly see it by the way the asking persons posture and reaction changes when they are asking the question or speaking to him.
I do sympathize with the Jews as well. They suffered a lot in WWII. I do recognize the right of Israel to exist for the Jewish people, but I would also like the same for the Palestinians. However, with that being said, I think Israel is wrong in building more settlements in the West Bank and Palestinian groups like Hamas need to recognize Israel's right to exist. I think this is the only alternative if both sides want peace.
Anti-British sentiment is prejudice, persecution, discrimination, fear or hatred against the British Government, British people, or the culture of the United Kingdom. = Anglophobia
Amazing the clarity of Galloway. Btw, the question asked from the student was a little bit biased. Where "a little bit" stands for "wooow dude where did you read this?"
Take a look at Hammas Logo, On the top of El Aqtsa mosque you can see the whole map of Israel Which is describing well, How much land Hamas wants Israel to have- ٠ صفر
Now, will Mahmoud Abbas specifically state that Jews will be allowed into his state, which he says must include the ancient city of Jerusalem, in order to pray? Because he does state that all the Jews who've moved into former Jordanian territory will have to leave - there will be no settlements in the final Palestinian state. So Jews will be separated from their ancient capital, won't they?
No, the richest. They come from Eton and other posh private schools where they have the best tutors daddy's money can buy, able to squeeze decent exam results out of the dimmest of inbred Hooray Henries and Henriettas. Then the selection board at Oxford, made up of creatures from the same background, see "Eton" on the application and wave it through. The result is a peculiar breed of entitled weirdos who "know" everything but appreciate nothing. I've bumped into a few over the years, many of them are not actually bad people, but they're from a different world.
You are absolutely right in what you say. I 100% agree with you. Israel already exists, so the Palestinians just have to acknowledge this and recognize them. At the same time, Israel cannot continue to build more and more settlements on Palestinian land. This is illega and a violation of international lawl and if Israel does not stop, economic sanctions must be applied on it. Jerusalem should also be internationalized and under UN jurisdiction, which was what was agreed to in 1948.
Let me reminded you that UN partition plan did not account for palestinian vote. The palestinian was not invited. Only israel. And dare you ask why Palestine so bitter about it!?
It states very clearly that they are linked to al-qeada. I do not claim the ones in syria are al-qeada. Reuters claim the ones in syria are al-qeada. The only claim i have made is that the ones in gaza are not al-qeada cells, like you claimed they were.
