Thanks for the great review! Fom watching your video it looks like you can lay your bike on it's side when hooked up to the bike trailer is that correct?

Yes! All standard bike trailers work this way.

Love the review. We just bought one of these! One thing though-maybe don’t ride on sidewalks? 🤔

I think it depends on where you live… Where we live… It’s definitely not bike friendly and no one is looking out for bikes or any sort of pedestrians. It is not safe to ride in the street, so we sometimes need to ride on the sidewalk.

Hello I love your videos! I am between getting the Hamax vs Burley D'lite X... Which is better between those two? I will be riding with my 37 inches 2 years old (and some day with his sibling that doesn't exist yet) I am worry about the interior space and the seating high of the Burley cause in their webpage says is 24 inch high and the bee has 27 inch high... 🙈🙄🙄. Thanks in advance.

Hey Audrey! My personal preference is for the Burley D'Lite X, unless you really want to be able to recline your kids. The Burley trailer is much more upright than the Hamax. The Hamax can recline A LOT. You should not be worried about the seating height of the Burley. The 27" high Bee is higher than you would ever need it for kids. 24" high is plenty.

I’d love for people to talk about the weight of trailer that’s what I was a bit concerned about

Hello, I watched also your review of the Thule chariot cross 1. So which one would you recommend for (mainly) a daily commute home-school and back in a pretty rainy/windy city?

The Cross is our top pick overall for most situations. If you can afford the Cross over the more affordable Hamax, the Cross is the better trailer. We also have very detailed written reviews on our website that should offer more insights to help you decide.

I picked up a D'lite from the REI Labor Day sale. The recline is so minimal. Their site says 120 degrees (Burley). Do you know how the D lite's recline compares to the old model Hamax fixed recline? Wondering if it is the same. I really would prefer the Hamax, but waiting on a sale.

Hey Jonathan! I don't have the older Hamax anymore to compare, but they told us that the upright position in the new Outback is the same as the fixed position in the old. That upright position is still a tad reclined and certainly not as upright as the Burley. In our Burley, we use the most reclined position as our everyday setting because it's so upright.

Two Wheeling Tots , thanks for the reply! You have the best videos for these trailers btw! I do like the Burley a lot, but on the fence if the Hamax is worth moving to because the recline doesn’t seem like a recline at all. The HAMAX seems to have more useful things like the zipper for rear storage compartment and ease of folding,etc. can’t afford a Thule but these seems like the next best thing. Guess I’ll keep trying out the Burley for now! Thanks again!

Does the Hamax recline as far as the Thule Chariot Cross?
@Twowheelingtotsbikes

They are pretty similar, although the Cross' seats recline independently in the double trailer.

Is it waterproof for heavy rain ? As I noticed they sell a raincover for this trailer and it’s now left me confused as it already comes with a raincover window

Hi Laura - we never used this trailer in heavy rain, so I can't tell you for sure. What I will say is that the rear of the trailer is mesh, which could easily let in rain. However, the mesh is the outside of the storage area, so it's not direct access to the child. Additionally, it slopes under the trailer, so the likely hood that a lot of rain would get in there is slight. I have used the Thule Chariot Cross and Burley D'Lite X in very heavy rain and both of them kept my toddler dry just using the standard rain cover.

Anyone had any issues with the cover zippers? Mine broke already after two months of use as the zipper wouldn't completely close anymore. A couple of months later the zipper came completely off. Attempted to salvage the situation by buying the separate rain cover meant for the Outback but it was a too tight fit and the seams broke near the attachment on first use. Not impressed with the Hamax quality.

The zippers are problematic because they can come completely off track. It is a serious pain to get them back on. We think the rationale is that someone might want to take the cover off entirely. However, it's probably more of an inconvenience for most parents.
@hittj106
@hittj106 3 года назад
@@Twowheelingtotsbikes I guess that could be an issue too, but for me the problem is that the zipper teeth aren't closing together anymore. Too bad that makes it pretty much unusable where I am as there's typically dirt, water or snow on trails/roads which all splash inside the carrier without a cover.

Ugh, that’s so frustrating! But since the cover is replaceable, could you get a replacement under warranty?
