I always have trouble with the positioning when using this and the flat bench hammer strength machine. Either I have the seat adjusted too high or too low. When I put on 3 45lb plates on each side, I always pust myself out of the seat.
You have to keep your back in a position like you're on the flat bench and also keep your shoulders down. A lot of people have a tendency to try to go to failure on this machine because you don't need a spotter or they do way heavier load then they would on the bench and tend to shrug their shoulders up to assist in pushing the bars out of the bottom position which is the hardest part of the movement. So compress back like you're on the flat bench and shoulders always down.
