Thanks Jangis! It's not a proper refinish job, more like someone spray painted the thing white. But it looks cool from a distance haha. I had planned to do a better video with sheet music & drawbar settings, but that sorta stalled. But I think these are the drawbar settings I used: (Lower manual first, upper/solo manual 2nd) 0:00 I started with a standard classic rock setting (88880000 and 888800400). 1:05 I pull out all the lower manual drawbars (88888888 and 888800400). 2:07 I push in the upper manual 16' & 5-1/2' and then set the lower manual to Hammond's "flute" setting (84000000 and 008800400)
Nice score! Mine doesn't have foldback although I've been meaning to do the "poor man's foldback" (there's a video posted by drawbars888). How about yours, any mods? And how does it sound thru that Leslie?
Sounds pretty good, but the 25 is a single speed Leslie (fast) and no horn. There is a video on YT on how to raise the speaker up on an enclosure and then add in a tweeter with a crossover... poor man's upgrade. Nice job on this classic song. My M3 was rescued from a thrift store. It was sitting outside. Thankfully, it did not rain.
PS: no mods yet. Probably poor mans foldback and maybe the lower manual mod. Pulling manuals and inserting key contacts scares me on a nearly 60 year old organ.
Not required...." (there's a video posted by drawbars888)." He does the foldback using the end grounded wires. He connects them to the octive next to the last. I intend to do this poor man's foldback on our (my son's really, as he is the only one that plays LOL) M3. I recently bought a pair of Fantastic 1980 Wersi TS 5001 tower organ speakers from a church for the M3. When its all done; foldback, Wersi speakers & a Neo Ventilator ll running through it! Time & money.......but we will get there.
Thanks, atl, this is definitely a tricky one. I think I saw the music published somewhere but BEWARE that version has a lot of mistakes! My guess is it was not transcribed by Tom Scholz but by some unofficial source. In the end I tossed the music and learned it painstakingly by ear (slowed down 4x). I've been meaning to upload the correct music (at least the way I hear it!) & a short how-to vid. Maybe I'll get on that this week...
rickyzig That would be great! I have been searching "organ sheet music" on eBay with no luck. I've added Boston. Foreplay, and just about every conceivable option with no luck. I'll be happy to PayPal you a few bucks for your efforts. Thanks for the reply.
+Richard Parks Hey, sorry for the late reply. Yes indeedy I transcribed it, and as we speak I'm working on a tutorial vid because this song is so logical I feel like it's easier to learn by music theory rather than sheet music, even if you don't know theory. But I'll also upload the transcription as a companion to the vid for those of us whose brains start hurting at the mere mention of theory haha. I'm trying to get the video finished by June 12 which is Brad Delp's birthday. I know he didn't write or play on Foreplay, he's just awesome.
