Absolutely Amazingly Awesome. I have a C-3 and a 122 and a 122RV stacked in my living room here in Pittsburgh. I spent 4 years searching this country until I found the RV in Iowa in a church that had closed and it probably hadn't been played but a few times.
Excellent playing. I've been lucky enough to meet Keith Emerson, Steve Walsh and have dinner twice with Yes; when all band members were there. THANK YOU for keeping all this amazing music alive. I'd love to hopefully hear a CD from You and Rick WAKEMAN. Your amazing!
Dude you rock. I've watched this clip like 20 times during the last 5 years. I'm a full time musician, i know little about the hammond, I know some of the prog rock tunes you play, but i like them all. This is the kind of video that keeps me inspired all the way. Love it
Just came across this on the day that we got the sad news that Keith Emerson was dead. This reminded me of him, especially the 'foot' assistance, and the Hammond/Moog combination (although I never saw him use his nose!) A fine performance which brought a smile to my face. Thank you Mr B.
Brilliant use of your C3 and 145 period and the mini Moog was a nice touch. Never get tired of the sound of either instrument, and you showcase them both very well.
OMG , I think I just experienced my very first ever .. "Eargasm" .. Excellent performance and honor paid to one of the finest musical instruments ever made ..
I think I watched this around when it came out and didn't know 70% of the songs, but since 2016 or so I've owned the albums that most of them are on after rediscovering them through Pandora
Absolutely great music! A little "Rick van der Linden" or "Keith Emerson" or "John Lord"!!!! Ekseption is my lifetime-music! I know Rick van der Linden very personally and I met him several times in Germany and the Netherland. Thomas, you are a great keyboarder! Thank you so much for your excellent and exceptional music!
I have probably watched/listened to this video a few dozen times. It always brings tears to my eyes. There is nothing like the sound of a Leslie rotating speaker driven hard. Perfect Strangers! O M G! Such emotion! Great work, Thomas. Thanks for sharing this.
I'm a guitarist, but whenever I see a band with an organist my eyes are looking out for when the foot hits the Leslie pedal to send it spinning fast - it's a truly expressive sound, and I'm fascinated to see it being brought in and out of play!
Exactly. When I was very small and even not aware of what Hammond is, I was fascinated by that "screaming" instrument familiar from classic rock recordings, such as Deep Purple , Uriah Heep and Pink Floyd. That rocking sound became my obsession and I sought after it in many recordings. I only found truth about Hammond organs with availability of the Internet
Outstanding Solo Performance! Please keep up the great work! I’m a huge Kansas fan! Saw them live with entire original crew in 79-80. #Kansas #JesusisLord
I just came back from a jazz festival in the states. come visit us sometimes. We need you. Nothing sounds like a Hammond. Even on youtube it is so crisp...
After a long, almost myopic obsession with the blues, I'm feeling a renewed hunger for prog. This vid only fanned the flames. Magnificent performance, sir. A nice reminder that the first heavy metal was called baroque.
Hi Thomas thank you thanks you for playing kansas and deep purple. jon lord is smiling down on you for sure. I am looking at a C3. you convinced me to stay old school. i am in Los Angeles. i hope you are with a group now. keep us posted! Marcel
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I'm a guitar player first, then a singer/songwriter etc. and my solo project is a 60's/70's "Acid Rock" sound inspired band called Bossfinger. I'm a huge fan of Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, The Spencer Davis Group and several others that all have that nasty, grimy, "in your face" Hammond sound. You also appear to be a fan of that wicked groove as you have nailed down not only the awesome tone but most importantly.... the feeling. Cheers to you sir! Well done. Again, Thank you soooo much for this.
Hey man, implemented your little transition (with a few additions) in the middle of a gig. It was fenomenal! Thank you for letting me borrow it ;) I will share with you the video as soon as I get it! Cheers!
