My thoughts: 1. For some reason still today in 2024, many so called keyboard amps, tend to have anything but a flat frequency response, and rather sound pretty boxy/muddy, which might be a bit cool for Rhodes sounds, and possibly Hammond, but terrible for anything else, especially for acoustic piano. I would also say, and many many people agree, that Roland keyboard amps are among the worst sounding. 2. Very few stage pianos and synths have acoustic pianos piano soundsthat are actually sampled in mono, and this means that in order to get a moni output that the left and right channel of the stereo sample has to be summed, which will introduce a lot of artifacts to the piano sound, ans trust me - that is not something you want So, what to do then? Get a *pair* of active PA speakers. There are loads of options here, but unless you plan to spend less than €300 for the pair, it's not likely that you will go wrong. The most popular brand of active speakers often used with keyboards might be QSC, EV, Yamaha, JBL and Bose, but even a pair of Behringer probably works fine as well. I myself have used a pair of 8" EV ZXA1-90B, for almost ten years. Couldn't be happier 😊 not the cheapest (I think about €500 a piece), but har from the most expensive ones either. On the other hand if it's for home use, you should look at active studio monitors instead, and again here's also loads of options - KRK, JBL, Yamaha, and Genelec, just to name a few Hope this helps!
My prediction is that players will complain about the allocate buttons being too close to the keys, getting accidentally bumped, unintentionally changing sounds during those heavy solo moments with big glisses, etc. But, generally sounds pretty good
That hammond sk pro sound like a electric piano. I would like to hear the organ side of it, draw bars ,leslie and pre set sounds.i saw a previous demo and I was impress then, then was thinking I might get one.cant hear any B 3 pre set sound
I bought one and was bitterly disappointed with the poor piano sounds. The Organ didn't sound as good as my SK-1, so I bought that. Organ didn't have as much punch on this pro. Be aware. Good luck.
@@garys8990 I am about to get one, went to the shop had a listen and it didn't sound like the youtube sound. They said it's all about the settings. So I asked them so why don't you set it right at the store as that's your selling point? No Answer. So I'm thinking of sticking to my midi and $149.00 B3 sound from native Instruments for now.
Don't listen to Gary, he posts the same ignorant drivel on every video. Nothing but a joke/troll. Bonners UK has the best review of this instrument last time I checked on YT and he's fairly responsive to questions. It's vastly superior to the SK1 in feature and sound reproduction. Piano is not what you buy a hammond for specifically and that should be plainly obvious. I pair it with other boards, as I did with the earlier SK. Apply a little brainpower at least. The Pro was improved from the Sk1 with the aid of hundreds of practising professionals. Of course it isn't inferior in any shape or form. If Gary even had the brain to use one, I'd be extremely surprised.
Hammond now have an excellent sound engine to their name in the form of the B-3X app. Yet they continue to sell organs like this SK Pro based on the ancient and awful sounding VASE technology. It’s quite odd. If they put the B-3X engine in an organ with a layout and ergonomics comparable to the Viscount Legend or Cromarty Mojo, then they would truly be king, it would be game over. I just don’t get it.
Nice played. The sound doesn’t convince me. Sounds like a home organ. It is useful to tweak the organ first, before demonstrating. Or is this the sound of the instrument?
sorry but the B3 sound is not convincing enough, Crumar 61 and Viscount legand are better in this department. only the acoustic piano is better on the sk pro..
The VR-730 is very competitive with keyboards costing twice as much, do a blind test comparison with Nord, Hammond and you will be surprised, except for the piano sound which is really of lower quality
