Great video I would like you warn you about the tiny friends farm “sand” they changed their formula a while ago, and the change has caused some respiratory problems for hamsters

Thanks! Glad you liked the video. Tiny Friend's Farm Bathing Sand is made of Sepiolite mineral and acts like a clay when wet so that's why I use it for my Syrian hamster's potty along with mixing it half n half with reptile sand. I find it works well as a litter substrate and I wouldn't offer it as an exclusive sand bath substrate. So far my Syrian hamster is in good health since using it but if he ever did develop respiratory issues, I would remove Sepiolite from the cage in case it was causing irritation.

Have you heard of Fitch paper bedding? It's far more economical than Kaytee/Carefresh and the bags last a long time and are dust free.

I've heard the name in passing but to be honest, I've never tried it. I'm not too sure where's the best place to order it, but with how pricey Kaytee and Carefresh are for 3 hammies, I'll definitely look into it :)

My Syrian hamsters diet is similar to yours lol. I use Harry hamster,science selective pellets sunflower seeds as a treat. And foraging mixes.

That's great! I wish there was more commercial mixes available in the UK but the Harry Hamster/Science Selective combo really works well for my syrian hamster. I'm glad there is so much variety of foraging mixes though! My hammies love it when I spread out their herb and flower mixes.

Hamsters shouldn't have cat litter at all, this is because if it is accidentally injected this can cause bowel blockages and can kill them. The boredom breakers in the treat section isn't a good choice, hamster can't eat sawdust, this is mixed with honey to make it taste nicer but this can be very dangerous, can cause bowel blockages and can kill hamsters.

If you listened to the vid and red the bag you would know that it's wood pellet cat litter, which is perfectly safe for hamsters and other pets like rabbits. Also I agree the chew isnt the best but ours in the UK do not have honey they are just super compressed so the hamsters don't eat them, they just chew them as it's a different texture.

I haven't found Sepiolite mineral (Tiny Friends Farm bathing sand) to be harmful when used as a litter substrate, which is how I offer it in my Syrian hamster's cage. However, I do agree it shouldn't be used as a main sand bath. That's why I included reptile sand in my haul as my dwarf hamsters love sand baths in their cages and I don't add any of the Sepiolite to their sand baths. I appreciate your concern though!

There's lots of great bedding options on the market other than paper based ones I'd avoid pine or cedar shaving though and definitely steer clear of the cotton based ones.

Treats are great but it depends on what you're giving them and how much of it. I'd recommend checking out hamster forums like hamstercentral.com or hamsterhideout.com as they can give you a lot more in depth explanations and lots of great information on hamsters.

can we use any kind of baby food

The general rule is anything containing garlic, onions or unsafe spices (like chili pepper) shouldn't be given to hamsters. As far as brands go, most baby food brands are safe but I prefer Cow and Gate. Just check the ingredient list on the bottle. Most baby foods are just water, veg and maybe an oil like linseed. I tend to stick mixes that contain beef+veg, chicken+ veg, cheese+veg or just plain vegetables.
