Good-Fortune Unicorn is also a perfect fit in this deck and costs less than bloodspore thrinax and you don’t need to sacrifice creatures. It’s an uncommon from modern horizons.

@@spic9h592 Enduring Scalelord is a card I happened to own and threw in while building Hamza (originally a Dromoka, The Eternal deck built entirely with cards I already owned), it's a beast. When you're making big creatures that might not always be evasive, the Scalelord is huge.

Sad that wayfarer's bauble isn't going to be reprinted. Those two card slots you were talking about last episode were taken by Universal Solvent and Workshop Assistant. :(

I'm not so sure this is a "much more fair" Animar. With Hamza, you can build up a board of tokens, play a spell that puts a +1/+1 counter on each of them, then play Hamza for just 2 mana, and start playing Eldrazi on the same turn, if you have enough creatures. Animar has to build up his counters before he can go off, this guy can go off the turn you play him, for two mana.

Other good cards you could include are Conclave Mentor, Wildwood Scourge, Basri Ket, Basri's Lieutenant, and Basri's Solidarity. All of those cards work with +1/+1 counters in one way or another.

Meadowboon would work really well with this, Hamza will also reduce the evoke cost so you can give all your guys a counter with just one white mana. Budget friendly aswell. Makes it a good target for Eternal Witness or something like that aswell. Edit: i just thought of Twilight Drover, it can turn +1/+1 counters into flying spirit tokens and gets counters whenever a creature token leaves the battlefield.

How fitting for the elephant from Dromoka to get benefits based on how wide and tall you build things. Definitely building this one and then getting spare copies for the other decks I'd like this in.

If you have the budget, Archangel of Thune would fit in too (Whenever you gain life, put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control). Come to think of it, Ajani's Pridemate can also be one of those creatures to set up for Hamza's arrival.

In have been pretty disappointed by the new legends in this set, there have not been many in here that made me want to build decks around them. But this guy, man i am in Love! I love him evolving around +1/+1 counters in a very different way!

You missed an amazing budget card: Chorus of the Convlave When Chorus joins forces with Hamza every creature gets the ability from Avatar of Resolute stapeled onto them. For the whole package add Longshot Squad & Tuskguard Captain.

Ivy Street Denizen, Good-Fortune Unicorn, and Juniper Order Ranger love this guy. I kind of want to build him but my Volrath deck has a +1/+1 counters subtheme already and I don't want to repeat myself if I can help it.

Don't forget Retreat to Kazandu! Just toss a counter onto any creature when a land enters.

ELEPHANT TRIBAL! LET'S GOOOOOOO! On a serious note, I feel like this will make for a really good budget Selesnya commander and an even better elephant tribal commander, as most elephant type creatures have a CMC of 4 or higher and this could really help make them more viable. Im all for budget utility-based commanders like this!

one that was suggested to me for budget was yorvo becuase of his ability to keep growing and ozolith so that way you can keep any +1+1 you make and move them however you like

Triskelion springs to mind as well as hangarback Walker or walking Ballista if you have the $. Mindless Automaton is also nice as it can end up cycling for free after Hamza is in play or turn late game lands into value.

Graft should be nice to get counters on all creatures that don't already enter with some, though the only good graft card in green is Sporeback Troll. Mikaeus the Lunarch and Shalai, Voice of plenty work nicely with this guy as well. Elite Scaleguard likes going wide with counters. Basri's Lieutenant and Twilight Drover synergize with counters and help with going wide.

I play a selesnya +1/+1 deck on arena and if you have Basri's Lieutenant and Renata, Caller to the Hunt out then any other creature with a +1/+1 counter that dies will create a knight token with a +1/+1, and you can go infinite with it.

You're completely forgetting one of the most important +1/+1 counter deck's mana production creature, Crystalline Crawler. Not only does it give itself counters, it's a decent defender and can use the counters for mana of any color.

Yeah you can apply cost reduction to x cost spells. In this case just creatures. Hydras are going to be especially good with this commander.

WotC has heard my prayers and given me a Selesnya Legendary Elephant at last...And I don't know how I feel. He's not at all useful for Elephant tribal, and his power just seems blunted (probably to fit him into an uncommon slot). You'd have to go super wide. It's not impossible to make him work, but it feels like a ton of effort when compared to other commanders. It's funny, because this actually would have been really awesome and a fun deck idea at one point, but WotC has pushed the power level of commanders so much that this can't really compete.

Can see having some fun in my nikara and yanik deck. One of the sac outlets to sac yanik for a counter which would be 2 or more with all the counter doublers. Then just keep playing yanik and using his ability ignoring commander tax as long as you have coloured mana and smashing someone’s face
