In this video tutorial, we will understand how to build a HANA Calculation view and expose the same using CDS View in BW/ABAP/SoH/S/4HANA system. Many times you would like to protect your existing investments done in the native HANA side, Now since ABAP or BW is running on HANA, you may want to consume these Information models in HANA to ABAP layer. There are many ways to achieve this, in this session we will use the most authentic way of consuming HANA Calculation views using CDS view. Finally, we will be creating the Analytic Fiori App using these models and OData services on HANA Calculation view.

With the dawn of SAP HANA and the possibility to develop applications directly on the database, not using an application server anymore, the need arisen, to create a meta-model repository directly on the database.From the beginning, CDS was not designed for HANA alone. Also the ABAP application server should be able to benefit from the enhanced capabilities that are offered by the DDL of CDS compared to the form based ABAP Dictionary tool.
